  1. Oh ok, They said I could be the first one to comment. I bet they say that to all the bloggers. I am trying to see a hidden message in all those pics. I really don't think you would make me think Hawaii again, and then take it away.

Cami on May 13, 2010 at 7:25 pm
    • Congratulations for being the first comment… and look, you are almost at 100!! I told you that it wouldn't take long!! Keep on Trackin…. Cami!!

reneelovesgreen on May 13, 2010 at 7:52 pm
      • I don't know what else to say, Renee. I don't now whether to go left or right or North or South, East or West, or up or down.

Cami on May 13, 2010 at 7:59 pm
        • Well…. let's say, if it isn't Hawaii this year.. There has been a strong campaign for HGTV to build a Dream Home in Hawaii…. Coop has been mentioning it for a while and then you and then many others… SO, I believe that JACK is thinking it is a lovely idea. Hanging around is your best bet!

reneelovesgreen on May 13, 2010 at 8:12 pm
    • I totally agree with you! Having an HGTV Dream Home here would be a dream come true in itself! (Nothing really big happens on this rock :( ) Big Island please!!

Michelle Agbigay on May 13, 2010 at 7:56 pm
      • Do you live in Hawaii? If so, Aloha. and Mahalo for responding, and welcome. I don't think I have seen you here before.

Cami on May 13, 2010 at 8:06 pm
        • Yes, I live on the Big Island. It's a pretty and relaxed place. I've been keeping up with the clues but have never posted anything. I think the clues point here too but it could just be because we have a little of everything (even a Hawaiian Blind Snake). I'm crossing my fingers and can't with to find out!

Michelle Agbigay on May 13, 2010 at 8:23 pm
          • I have fallen in love with Hawaii, you are soooo lucky. I am glad to hear that you think the clues lead there too. Have you heard anything about the HGTV Dream Home coming to your sweet island?

Cami on May 13, 2010 at 8:41 pm
          • It's a lot to appreciate :) Have you ever visited?

I haven't heard anything but if they're thinking about bringing it here I think they would build it on Oahu in a central location (from what the clues point to). The main reason I think it'll be there is because of the rice bowl — that's where Hawaii's China town is — but then we all eat rice here it's our main food.

I hope someday they'll think about the Big Island because it's a lot more original & there's a lot to experience daily (i.e. being able to play with snow and and swim at the beach – in the sun – in the same day :)

Michelle Agbigay on May 13, 2010 at 9:09 pm
          • That is so cool. I haven't had the pleasure of visiting Hawaii, but someday, I will. Always someday.

I have considered Oahu as well, but I am attracted more to your island because it is bigger and like you said, it has a bit of everything. I am guessing that the only thing that Oahu doesn't have that you do have, is acreage, snow, Kona coffee, and an active volcano. I wonder how many craters Oahu has? I am so silly. The only crater I can think of is the Diamond Head crater.

Cami on May 13, 2010 at 9:18 pm
          • If you like nature you should definitely visit. There many hidden treasures to see — just be sure to rent a jeep instead of a car!

I think there's 3 craters on Oahu but not so sure :)

Michelle Agbigay on May 13, 2010 at 9:47 pm
          • Sorry, late to jump in on this one. I've been busy…

Oahu has 3 craters: Diamond Head, Koko, and Punchbowl.

SigWife on May 18, 2010 at 12:30 am
          • Darn, I have to go, I can't believe it is already almost 2:30 pm. Lets see…..It's still morning in Hawaii, like 9:30 am??? If I could be there right now, I would have more time left in my day. ; ) See you… Come back, ok.

Cami on May 13, 2010 at 9:26 pm
          • I live on Oahu. We've been here for 4-1/2 years. I love it, but it's really busy. My favorite Island is Kauai, but I loved Maui too. Unfortunately, I haven't been to the Big Island yet, but hope to before we leave. Not sure if I'll be able to deal with the vog over there though…I'm so allergic to it, and we don't even get it as bad as you guys! I really, really want to see Volanoes National Park.

I would be really surprised if HGTV builds on Oahu. There's not all that much "prime" real estate left, that I know of anyway, and it's already so crowded. Not to mention that it's wicked expensive to live here if you're not military. Well, even if you are military…

SigWife on May 17, 2010 at 7:34 pm
        • Michelle, Cami will be heading in your direction some time in the very near future. You will be her new best friend LOL! That girl has been itching for Hawai`i for some time now…:-)

        • Oh I'm still here ;) Ask me anything :)

Michelle Agbigay on May 13, 2010 at 8:38 pm
          • Oh ok…Have you seen our handsome Jack Thomasson or Jamie Durie anywhere? Have you heard any HGTV rumors? Two handsome men like that, and Jamie with his Australian accent, that news would spread fast wouldn't it? ; )

Cami on May 13, 2010 at 8:55 pm
    • Hey, I just thought of something… The Big Isle Hawaii has two craters (two volcanoes) Sooooo those were craters in those two sinks in the bathroom. Granite is a rock and Michelle said she lives on a rock, soooo there, I just connected that clue quite well. LOL.

Cami on May 13, 2010 at 8:45 pm
      • We actually have 5 volcanoes but what i was thinking is our largest crater is Halemaumau (First sink) and there's Kilauea Iki next to it that has been erupting. If you Google it you'll definately see the similarity :)

Michelle Agbigay on May 13, 2010 at 9:25 pm
        • She is out buying a new wardrobe for the beaches of Hawai`i, right now…LOL!

debragilmour on May 13, 2010 at 10:25 pm
          • Hey, I was just wondering, could we sacrifice that one eyed Jack, like they did in "Joe VS. the Volcano"??? What would happen??? J/K He!! He!!

            #1HGTVLVR on May 14, 2010 at 4:07 am
        • Yep, I do see the similarity. Both craters look to be about the same size and look like twins, and are pretty even with each other, at least that's what I saw on Google Earth. Just like the double bathroom sinks or craters. LOL. First I joked that there were two sink holes on the DH site instead of one (It's taking so long there has to be a reason for the delay). Now we can call them craters, on the big Isle. Thanks Michelle. You just never know, could be the answer to the clue. Most people think it means granite. I like to think outside of the box.

    • By the way, I know it's Vermont or Montana but Hawaii is just my little bid for next years dream home. A girl can dream. Aloha and Hawaii Rocks!!! ;-)

Susan on May 14, 2010 at 11:56 pm
      • Susan….Vermont and Montana are listed in the photo's, and I'm thinking if they are listed then they are no longer contenders. Everyone think Hawaii, perhaps our energy will make it happen. :)

    • I think the location may be in PA? Good looking healthy, friendly Amish people? "You have a friend in Pennsylvania" license plates (VA plates state "Virginia is for lovers") Great honey bee colonies in PA.

Ktfultz on May 24, 2010 at 5:50 pm
      • I almost forgot!. It snows a lot in PA with several famous and popular ski resorts and illuminated icicles hanging from the street lights in the winter…Beautiful cows and farmland as well…There are also several Cartier boutiques in Philadelphia and surrounding cities. Although, hmmm could that be a Gateway computer cow? Gateway computers were originally built/ manufactured in a farmhouse in Iowa. I'm stumped now.

    • Outrageous taxes, high cost of living, & crime rate is horrible in NYC. You would have to be a NYer or someone who loves the confined city space & already rich to live in dream home in NYC.

ttsousa on May 13, 2010 at 10:04 pm
      • Actually, (though it may just be because I've lived in NYC for half of my life), I don't think the taxes and cost of living are all that bad if you know how to do it right. Depending on the part of the city you live in, there is minimal crime, (even in some of the less ritzy neighborhoods), and a lot of the apartments there are really spacious. Plus, if you saved the prize money and invested it, you could easily get by and retire if you had a full-time job.

        Nicole D. on May 14, 2010 at 6:54 pm
        • When you've lived in the south all of your life with alot lower cost of living & pay is about the same as NY and you have money leftover to enjoy without becoming a workaholic & no time with your family, it is VERY expensive especially for us because my husband is in the military and his pay didn't adjust with the cost of living and the housing allowance there was lower than it is here in TX where cost of living is lower than NY. He grew up in MA & doesn't ever plan to move back up that way after living in the south with less snow & lower cost of living & because he wants to grow old with me, lol.

      • who sad that the house was going to be in nyc it could be in a more rural place in new york.

Natalie on May 15, 2010 at 2:49 pm
    • I think it would be the best dream home. N.Y has great restraunts, broadway, Sat. night live, central park, museums, and much much more. I think that would also bring lots of hgtv fans to putting their name into the pool. N.Y.C would be so diffrenet from the past dream homes and may be be the hgtv fans favorite dream or green home. I have signed up every year for the dream home and I belive that this would be the one that I put my name in the most. Please consider everything that I have said.

olivia on May 14, 2010 at 9:54 pm
    • It seems that we are on the fast track towards a permanent energy crisis characterized by energy scarcity, global warming, and geopolitical turmoil. I truly think that by initiating a campaign to move beyond oil is essential to the American society and the world at large and NYC is just the place to begin moving towards an energy revolution. NYC should exemplify a new, cleaner, and entirely carbon-free approach to living.

      @tlgray04 on May 15, 2010 at 1:24 am
      • They definitely need cleaner air, that's for sure but I don't think one house is going to do it and still too expensive & crowded.

ttsousa on May 15, 2010 at 6:08 am
    • a hgtv green home with more then two bedrooms would be nice what if the winner of this years green home has more then two kids and one is a boy and the other is a girl thay can not shair rooms. it is a nice home but needs three bedrooms for this years green home.

  5. See- now I posted my thoughts on the last blog and have nothing original to say and don't want to repeat myself…my wish list for floorplan is also over there.

Our Army Family on May 13, 2010 at 7:32 pm
    • You could copy and paste all your original thoughts over here.

Cami on May 13, 2010 at 7:36 pm
  6. Okay- so my hunch remains that maybe the location is NOT one of the above…yes, repeating myself.

Our Army Family on May 13, 2010 at 7:33 pm
    • Which IF I HAD to pick…a lot of the clues lined up with West Virginia which doesn't appear.

Our Army Family on May 13, 2010 at 7:34 pm
    • I am wondering the same thing. Maybe they are ones eliminated from the rest of the 50. I would love for it to be in either AZ since I didn't win the one in NM or NC because I'd be closer to my family. My mom has Altzeimers & my dad had to retire from work to stay home with her. My sister works 14 hr days nursing so she can't help him that much. If I live in the state even if it were a couple of hours away, I could still help him sometimes and it would also be closer to NY when my husband gets orders back there where I don't intend to return.

ttsousa on May 13, 2010 at 8:44 pm
    • That's how I read it. It's NOT one of the states mentioned above. I'm still leaning towards going back to California….the majority of my clues point to there.

What do the pics that have been posted on the main page have in common? An Ocean, mountains and A big city? In California you are close to the Ocean, the mountains and most likely live in or near a big city.

      elle4 on May 17, 2010 at 7:10 pm
      • Personally, I don't think the pics on the front page have been clues…but i can always be wrong ;o)

Our Army Family on May 17, 2010 at 7:20 pm
  7. Okay Mary…can you pass on to the designers of the floor plan that a few of us want some sort of storm shelter if the home is in an area that gets tornadoes, etc.

Our Army Family on May 13, 2010 at 7:34 pm
    • Storm shelter definitely needed in tornado alley. I wish we had one at our house here in TX but we live in a development where there aren't any & have to take cover in center room of the house. We've seen what tornadoes do to houses in this area & it doesn't really matter what room you take cover.

ttsousa on May 13, 2010 at 8:47 pm
    • Good morning OAF, I think they are building homes in Kansas that are tornado "resistant"! I would never say "proof".as I wouldn't want to "challenge mother nature", ( I think I saw that, but I might have imagined it !!!) At this point nothing would surprise me! My mind is boggled with all this speculation and I CANNOT stay away for long. Keep in rollin". :) :)

JWmson on May 14, 2010 at 2:05 pm
      • There are ones that are made to better withstand…as others have said- I wouldn't want to be the one to test it!

Our Army Family on May 14, 2010 at 2:48 pm
        • lol, me either but I think the ones they're thinking of are ones with the steel beems rather than wood. I saw some of those being built in another development down the road from us. I think we may have had a light one today. It got VERY dark, windy, rain crashing into the windows. My one dog Elvis remembered us going to the utility room (center room in the house) & started growling for me to come on. I trust his instincts so I went in there with him. Soon after I heard a loud noise & later discovered part of our fence had been taken out.

ttsousa on May 15, 2010 at 6:33 am
          • Wow- great dog you have. We had tornado warnings the other night…it was our once a year warning…that is about it…not many real tornadoes actually touch down here though.

  9. Pleasr, never Arizona!!!! VERY HIGH CRIME RATE. (Higher than Chicago!)

With high tensions because of immigration issues….. PLEASE "NO"!!!!!!!

blue on May 13, 2010 at 7:36 pm
    • Yeah but once they get the scum out, it won't be no ways as dangerous. They don't belong & with progress sometimes comes conflict but in the end, it's worth it. I'd live in AZ before I'd live in any northeastern state or CA.

ttsousa on May 13, 2010 at 8:50 pm
      • I agree with your with progress sometimes comes conflict statement as well!

        M.J.A on May 14, 2010 at 8:21 am
    • Where did you come up with the VERY HIGH CRIME RATE????
Having lived in AZ for over 7 years I'd have to say it's MUCH safer than MANY big cities and very unique. There is A LOT to do in AZ (home to the Grand Canyon and London Bridge…) yet there is still so much of that natural beauty as well.
It would be WONDERFUL if they built a dream house here!

      M.J.A on May 14, 2010 at 8:20 am
      • Agreed! I've been in AZ for 10 years. Love, love, love it! Unfortunately, the media is to blame for some people's opinions. Arizona is beautiful…and fun!

CSG on May 14, 2010 at 9:29 pm
        • The media is very guilty of pulling the wool over less suspecting eyes. I would love it if the house were in AZ especially since I missed out on the one in NM. As far as crime being higher in AZ than Chicago, I highly doubt that one and with any luck of ridding all those pesky illegal alien criminals,AZ will have even less crime. Can't say that for Chicago who will still always have the gang activity from the illegal aliens as well as the legal ones and AZ will still have cleaner air.

kath on May 21, 2010 at 6:37 pm
    • Get a Clue, maybe uneducated people should keep their thoughts to themselves! Az is beautiful, & a great place to live! Like any city there are better areas than others! Interesting that our immigration problems go hand in hand with the bad crime areas! Maybe you should visit Az before you judge our beautiful state!

    • I have never heard such a thing. Obvious, a politico hack. High crime along the Mexico border agreed. Even the reservation police had to beef up against "wolves, coyotes and mules," of the human kind dealing inhumane treatment to their victims, trafficing drugs, prostitutes, slaves, leaving many to die in the desert. They beat, rob, kidnap and extort, They sneak terrorist in to this country. The terrorist don't stop here, they are headed to your city, trains, airports and schools to revenge the crusuades. But Arizona law enforcement can't touch them according to Obama administration and people, who don't even live here. MS 13 and other gangs prefer progressive communities to live in immunity like yours no doubt, Enjoy.

  11. Here is a thought or observation…I was looking up the locations in which the photos were taken…the Virginia picture is Tangier Island, VA…while Virginia has been mentioned, nobody mentioned that location. I looked it up and it is an island that can only be accessed by boat. As far as I remember, they haven't built a dream home on a remote island before. Not remote as in uninhabited as there are bed and breakfasts, etc. there. That would be something new, revolutionary, and "ground breaking."

Our Army Family on May 13, 2010 at 7:42 pm
    • Also accessible by small aircraft.

        1LMichele on May 13, 2010 at 9:04 pm
    • This is interesting. I was looking at clues from last year and Mary mentioned Tangier Island in one of them. When I went to research it, it seemed very remote, but that would be groundbreaking.

Sarah on May 13, 2010 at 8:05 pm
      • Good catch- I didn't see/catch that…ooh…maybe we are on to a location! Or maybe she just has a thing for Tangier Island…there is just so many other good shots of Virginia that she could have used. Back to your catch of last year…I've always figured that they start planning a year out as it takes a while to get all of the legal things for building set up.

Our Army Family on May 13, 2010 at 11:38 pm
    • Wow, I am so excited about this one! Here is some wiki info:
Tangier is a town in Accomack County, Virginia, United States, on Tangier Island in the Chesapeake Bay. The population was 604 at the 2000 census. The tiny island community has attracted the attention of linguists because its people speak a unique English Restoration era dialect of American English, hypothesized to be nearly unchanged since the days of its first occupation by English colonists. Each of the original surnames and several of the present surnames on the island originated in the United Kingdom, predominantly from Scotland.

My husband is Scottish! We'd fit right in! Please Mary, oh please say it is so…

debragilmour on May 13, 2010 at 8:21 pm
      • YIKES! This just in…, Two recent hurricanes, Isabel and Ernesto, flooded much of the island. A few houses have been abandoned while several others are being elevated on new foundations. So maybe across the bay from the island on a more stable chunk of real estate would be better…

      • We are Scottish too…okay- not we- me and I guess the kids. We come down the line from the Wallace Clan. I think the island would be WAY cool and it is still close enough to our current base (which is the main base for my husband's career field)…it is 2 hours and 45 minutes to the year round ferry from our base…he could easily be a weekend commuter (not as if we see him much during the week anyway).

Our Army Family on May 13, 2010 at 11:46 pm
        • My husband is a 1st generation American and the first in his family to be born in the USA. His family immigrated to the USA, but his dad and all before him were born in Scotland.

Wow, Wallace is a pretty powerful name in Scotland! Go Army Family!

Cami on May 14, 2010 at 1:23 am
      • They have two ferries that run twice a day, Cami. Here is the info on the island:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tangier,_Virginia

debragilmour on May 14, 2010 at 1:39 am
        • Thanks Debra for being on the ball. From what their website shows there is a ferry that runs year round and others that are just seasonal from other locations. None of them are car ferries…it's a golf cart and bike island. There is also an air strip. Funny- when I was telling my husband about it I compared it to the islands in WA.

          • Tangier Island is a very small island that does have boat service – in the winter the island gets frozen in. The concern about the island is the drugs rampant in the area.

  14. The major Indian Wars (1867–1877) included the famous 1876 Battle of the Little Big Horn, better known as “Custer's Last Stand,” in which Cheyenne and Sioux defeated George A. Custer and more than 200 of his men in southeast Montana.

Much of Montana's early history was concerned with mining, with copper, lead, zinc, silver, coal, and oil as principal products. Butte is the center of the area that once supplied half of the U.S. copper.

Fields of grain cover much of Montana's plains. It ranks high among the states in wheat and barley, with rye, oats, flaxseed, sugar beets, and potatoes as other important crops. Sheep and cattle raising make significant contributions to the economy.

Motto: Oro y plata (Gold and silver)

    State symbols:
    flowerbitterroot (1895)
    tree – ponderosa pine (1949)
    stones -sapphire and agate (1969)
    bird- Western meadowlark (1981)
    song – “Montana” (1945)
    Nickname: Treasure State
Origin of name: From the Spanish word meaning “mountain.”

The Lewis and Clark Expedition of 1804-1806 was the first group of white explorers to cross Montana.

More researching of possible links…. And Vermont still has each and every clue within it…. hmmm…

  19. If they are considering Tennessee–Chattanooga is the best. Very family friendly. Perfect spots here in theHistoric Missionary Ridge area—over looks city–views to die for. Haven't kept up with hints. All other places have been kida remote though. Best of all worlds in this area. Lots of history.

kgbreathe on May 13, 2010 at 8:03 pm
    • After living in cramped up development here and base housing, remote sounds great. I grew up in remote rural area of NC where the crime rate was extremely low. That's the kind of place I would love for my son to finish growing up now that he's getting closer to teens. The city 7 crowded suburbs are no place to raise children IMO.

ttsousa on May 13, 2010 at 8:59 pm

Tn. is known to have venemous snakes, rattlesnakes, copperheads etc. and there was the cow clue, also countertops, all i could think was the marble and knox county is known for pale pink to cedar red

This every recovering area has made remarkable progress since Hurricane Katrina and has a "new hometown" called Traditions, that is an idyllic spot for the next dream home. Only 15 minutes north of Mississippi's famed beaches and Casino resorts lies this beautiful new walking, green community that includes its own commercial districts, lake, amphitheater, and schools. Sanibel Island is known for the 3rd place in the world for seashells. It's white sands, dolphins and tranquil environment is laid back but still has everything you need. It's also close to visit Orlando -Tampa-Miami-Destin-Boca Raton for much culture and diversity.

  40. OK, time for a process of elimination. In order of appearance:

AZ-Too close to last year's home
PA-has potential if it is in the right location
NJ-The taxes in Jersey are as high as the Empire State Building-NO
    MT-Very doable, lovely state
VT-Insert VT cheer squad here, I am not going to touch this one!
    NY-See NJ comments
    VA-YES, YES, YES!!!
WI-There has never been a DH in the mid-west so this one has potential
TN-Oh were it not for the floods…

debragilmour on May 13, 2010 at 9:14 pm

Cami and I really want HI but I think that may be a choice for next year. It seems that most think it will be in upstate NY or Vermont. I would really like to know "soon".

  41. Does anyone know if these are all the states Mary has mentioned either on the polls or in our clue captions? If so, the only one I know for sure that is missing would be Puerto Rico. So if this is true, then maybe it will be in Puerto Rico for their groundbreaking 1st year anniversary of allowing HGTv there and their people to enter the sweepstakes. Anyone know ?

    1LMichele on May 13, 2010 at 9:18 pm
    • That is an excellent point. I know someone brought up this fact before, but it hasn't seemed to gather much traction for PR. That is when Hawai`i got rolling.

But one could easily see how the analogy given by Mary about last year's selection "in the middle of the desert" and plunking the next one in the middle of the ocean, would be groundbreaking:-)

debragilmour on May 13, 2010 at 10:01 pm
      • Thanks for your reply Debragilmour. Glad you see the possible connection like I do. Do you know if PR is the ONLY state not mentioned here that Mary had for her poll and clue mentions? I will check back later on.

        1LMichele on May 13, 2010 at 10:15 pm
        • I do not recall seeing the mention of PR in any clues, but I came into the game a bit later than some of the others.

debragilmour on May 13, 2010 at 10:21 pm
    • Am I missing something? Puerto Rico is not really a state, and Mary definitely said "state" in this clue.

      Wyo_Girl on May 14, 2010 at 2:24 pm
      • Hi Wyo_Girl, Puerto Rico is a Territory of the USA but you are right, which I did not realize, that Mary specifies STATE here instead of location. So, I guess PR is off the list.

        1LMichele on May 14, 2010 at 3:09 pm
  42. Now that things are back to normal and we can make comments here, I'll just have to repost my comment from the previous clue:

For Clue #11,… how about this — Vermont is smack-dab in the middle of the other eight state photos! Bull's-eye! Have I got it, Mary?

That's my theory and I'm sticking to it, although I think I agree with densteve that this clue is just filler!

    C&E on May 13, 2010 at 9:23 pm
    • That was clever thinking except I don't think she would have wrote the clue of the smack-dab on a different clue and picture if she meant this one. But then again, that is how Mary's tricky mind works. HA!

      1LMichele on May 14, 2010 at 3:13 pm

  43. I really hope it's AZ or NC. I really really really wanted that one in NM but I guess AZ is close enough & a still a beautiful state. NC is my birth-home state and I love the beautiful Crystal Coast as well as Smokey Mountains.

  46. Good bye all, have fun. I have to go back to my scullery duties, and head cook duties, and head maid duties. etc. etc. It never ends. Kinda like this hunt. ; )

Cami on May 13, 2010 at 9:34 pm
    • LOLOL, rock on with that mommy mafic!!!! While I like the hunt as well, it would be sort of nice to know if we are hunting elephant, or deer. One does not usually find them in the same habitat. It is all about location, location, location…

debragilmour on May 13, 2010 at 9:48 pm
    • I am sorry but your scullery duties will JUST HAVE TO WAIT! HE He You cannot leave until you have figured out the DH location and this clue, Cami. My life has pretty much been put on hold so yours has to also. SO THERE! LOL Anyways, I posted the possibility of the only state not mentioned here that Mary has posted in the polls and on our clues was Puerto Rico. Do you know if there is any other states missing from those group? If not, then do you think it could be PR as the answer to this picture puzzle clue?

      1LMichele on May 13, 2010 at 10:00 pm
      • Coop and I were kind of exploring the possibility of Puerto Rico in the beginning of the insanity but since the first number clue came along, we lost our way I guess. The honey clue is the strongest link to Puerto Rico. Honey is inchant in Hebrew and Puerto Rico is the land of enchantment.

Cami on May 13, 2010 at 10:58 pm
        • There were other matches I had found earlier but I will have to find them in my notes and hope and pray they were not ones that I threw away when Mary posted Clue 9 or 10 that said New York, Arizonia, or TN. At that point, which I thought was right before the reveal, I thought the location had to be one of those three and was why Mary posted them. So I threw away alot of my notes on the other states about the clues and research done on them by myself and others. But know I wish I didn't realizing Mary might have just been tricking us like all along. It sure would have been nice if mary would have given us at least one for sure answer to one of the clues if someone guessed it. For like my husband says, when you read a novel, you at least get revealed some of the facts. Are you reading this Mary???? Hint! Hint!

          1LMichele on May 14, 2010 at 5:00 am
          • But I will try and do some research on Puerto Rico to see if the clues fit and I will let you all know my result.

            1LMichele on May 14, 2010 at 5:01 am
          • I do know alot of my Texas and Utah and Wi and TN findings did fit as I know alot of your guys Hawaai, and VT, an NY and Virginia and W. Virginia etc did fit also. Ha, Mary is soooooo sly with having her clues being able to be interpreted in so many different ways and for so many states. But, I guess that is part of this maddening, crazy kind of fun, location challenge. (See my BIG SMILE?)

    • Well you can add your new title Dr Cami you hit it right when you said allergies in your reply on Soney. Not only are you head cook and head maid but you are a Dr. You almost have to be one when you have a family. Thanks

alice on May 14, 2010 at 12:16 am
      • I'm glad he's doing better. Allergies are more common in animals then people realize IMHO. It would be nice if allergy meds would keep him better all the time. We had to give our dog benadryl a lot. It was never bad enough to have to take her in though. She just had red eyes occasionally, and it seemed to help. I just gave her one benadryl capsule stuffed in a piece of meat, like a piece of hot dog. She usually didn't notice, and gullped it right down.

        • Thanks for the info I am learning so much from everyone.

  47. I would love Vermont. Beautiful falls (both water and seasonal) and if you love skiing cant do much better here! I would also love a NH for similar reasons. I just love a place with 4 distinct seasons. :) Now Upstate NY is also beautiful, farming communities, lilac festivals, mtns and lakes. And if its anywhere near the I-90 you have access to several major cities also including border cities in VT and MA. I do love the city but am a country girl at heart.

  48. Where ever they decide to put it I hope the house itself has at least 4 bedrooms and baths! Plus lots of closets for storage, a huge pantry, a basement ( again for storage) and has a very open floor plan ( kitchen-dining-great-room ) for entertaining! Large eating bar would also be great for flow over's from the dining area. As long as everyone can talk to each other while eating will be great! People live differently now days and mingle in the kitchen-dining area. Why is it that most of the dream homes have not had a basement? Where do we put all the Christmas decorations for storage? ( ha, ha) Anyway please pass this on to the designers. ( Kind of hoping for Virginia or Pennsylvania for location.)

  49. Texas Hillcountry ( North west of San Antoino ) I live in San Antoino and the land up there is beautiful peaceful with majestic views. And the sunsets in Texas are breathtaking. The land here can provide most of the materials.

Laurie on May 13, 2010 at 9:42 pm
    • That sounds like you could do a 180 to Texas from NM. I have proved all the clues COULD fit.

      1LMichele on May 13, 2010 at 9:47 pm
    • That's what I was saying in another post about many great choices here in TX & we do have some gorgeous sunsets.

  50. Also I noticed that Utah, which could be the state Mary was refering to in the 2nd clue about the 1st clues 1st two guesses of Utah being the location, that Utah was Not mentioned in these pictures so could be the location that should be on here that Mary might be refering to. Hummm! And I believe Utah would be a 180 of going back from the NM desert she talked about to the previous types of areas with the lakes etc.
