HGTV Dream Home 2011 Location Clue Thirteen
Here comes another numbers clue. The answer you seek is a four-digit number. Look for one number in each HGTV Green Home 2010 caption and then add, subtract or line up the numbers in any order you choose. Ready, set … go!

I love reading all these witty comments!
You may want to think hard about encouraging us, it gets beyond witty well into whacky sometimes.
Thanks for your support.
Mary had a little blog,
the bloggers need to know.
Where is the new location?
With an answer don't be slow.
We followed clues
all round the map.
Wore soles off of our S hoe s.
Have waited near forever,
and still no goldarn news!
Hey Diddle Diddle
The stamp, and the flower.
The cow jumped over the honey.
The rice bowl had chopsticks,
The mountains had sunsets,
and what the heck did all those numbers mean?
I was hoping we would have the reveal today. I have company coming later and won't be able to spend much time on the blog in the next couple of days. I will probably miss out on something important, and that fills me with anxiety. I am going to have to cut the umbilical cord sooner or later. This will be a good trial separation, to see if I can do it.
I wish Mary would hurry and give birth to the Dream Home location….She is way over due. The Dream Home is going to be sooo big they will have to do a cesarean.
LOL!!! Maybe she really IS expecting TWINS?!?!?
You knew I meant houses, right??
Cami, I think Mary should call you personally and tell you the location.
TOTALLY agree.
If there are any old Message Board members around. I wonder if they remember the year that one of the MBrs gave birth to triplets right there on the MB. The names were Taos, Lake Lure (I think) I don't remember now, it could have been quadruplets, I can't remember the other locations or "baby names" I mean. I do know we were waiting for the location to be revealed, just like now. Someone saved the thread, I wish they were around to post it.
Kinda funny that Debra started thinking of the same kind of scenario. I guess the delivery is imminent.
That baby will be so big, it'll make Baby Huey look like a premie.
OMG, I thought I was the only one who even remembered Baby Huey LOl!!! MARY, You're as big as a HOUSE! Induce already!!!!
Either that or we could extract it from her, I mean perform c-section.
Mary has posted so many sunrise and sunset pics, I am beginning to wonder if the Dream Home will have a Fiddler On The Roof…
If you aren't familiar with that Broadway show, that won't make any sense to you.
Good One Cami! Except is not "Quickly go the days" for us!
Ah yes Traditions Cami!
I guess it is only fitting that we tell Mary whom she can Marry.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiddler_on_the_Roof_…
"I don't remember growing older…..when did they?"
Taught my daughter how to use a yard trimmer today. Our kids definitely get older! Fortunately they think I still look young.
ai-ai-ai..Cami you are so meshugge!
Cami: I played Yenta in one production and couldn't finish the finale without tears in my eyes. Still one of my favorite shows.
I think I hear the sponsors asking for a new clue!
Why has every post I have made today disappeared as well as my thumbs up to people? I haven't said anything rude to anyone so no excuse for it other than a glitch in the blog but why ALL of my posts?
I can see you now, and there are several other postings of yours, too… Maybe you need to "refresh" or reload you in your "view" drop down menu…?
I did & only a few showed back up at first. So I went to Facebook awhile & when I came back, tada, they were back.
Breaking news! This is Soney reporting to you live from KOOL TV News. I am standing on a hill overlooking the Space Needle. The R A I N is reaching the top. Everyone had to evacuate but they are all safe. Our liquid precipitation is at an all time high and the temperatures are at an all time low. Reporting live Soney KOOL TV News.
Oh my! What has HGTV done to everyone? Oh the Agony!
OMG…..the reveal will be at comment number 4393! It just occured to me.
Brilliant thinking!
YES, BRILLIANT!!!
O Jackie O, that's a long way off, then it will be 5000, and so on and so on and you get the picture.
DAS A GOOD WON !!!
I hope everything is ok with Mary. On June 2nd she posted the last Green Home thread. On June 4th she posted the last threads for the Dream Home and the DIY Blog Cabin, and nothing since.
Now here's something you don't see every day — a rotating house!
http://shine.yahoo.com/event/haven/extreme-homes-…
And it's for sale! For about 1.7 million dollars, this 3,000 sq. ft. home in Connecticut with a guest house and pool could be yours! It sits on 4 acres and has stunning views, which you can enjoy from any room in the house with just the touch of a button. If something really did happen to the original DH 2011, maybe HGTV will consider this as their last-minute alternative!
Pretty cool !!! it would make me dizzy!!!!!
Good one C&E, I'm surprised the announcer didn' t close the piece by saying "See ya around'.
It is a beautiful home, I could put up with the likes of that!
Please just said where it's located, I'm getting desperate!
In attemp to get the comment number up to 4393, as list of Virginia cities, not completed from the previous post will be on this thread. Starting with Petersburg, another city with a female mayor and close to a place called Pocahontas Island. I think this island would be worth invesitgating.
Puquoson is the Native American word for "great marsh." What is more 180 degree from the desert than a marsh?
Portsmouth – The Norfolk Naval Shipyard is located entirely within the city limits of Portsmouth. There is also a Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. Didn't the stamps reveal a navy connection?
Radford, Virginia is the home of the oldest living person in 1993-1994, Margaret Skeete.
Richmond, Virginia is the capital of Virginia.
Singer Wayne Newton was raised in Roanoke, Virginia. For the youngsters out there, he sang "Red Roses for a Blue Lady" and was featured in National Lampoon's Las Vegas Vacation.
Salem, Virginia has the coolest seal. It displays a dove with an olive branch on it. It must be a very peaceful location.
What a lovely city in such a WONDERFUL state. Ahhh, yes, Virginia…:-)
Have you been there? Honestly, the seal looks like you could fly it at a peace rally.
Woodrow Wilson was born in Staunton, Virginia.
Suffolk is on the Nansemond River. Lots of bike trail in the 2 swamp land refuges in the area, again swamp being an opposite/180 degree difference to a desert.
Virginia Beach has a giant sculpture of Neptune on its boardwalk.
I love that. Neptune taking a walk, on the boardwalk.
On Waynesboro from Wiki…"Shortly after U.S. Army General Anthony Wayne's important victory at Battle of Fallen Timbers in 1794 during the Northwest Indian War, the area began to be called Waynesborough. Since many settlers to the area were from Pennsylvania, it is not surprising that they would want their new land named after a hero from their home. Sometime after, it was called Waynesboro."
Williamsburg is the home the College of William and Mary. Did you know John Stewart graduated from W&M?
Who? I really don't know. Sorry!
Sorry I should have said Jon Stewart. He is the host of the Daily Show on Comedy Central. Actually W&M have some other, more famous grads but I like Jon Stewart. I am blue…that is why I like him.
Winchester is the last on the Wiki list of Virginia cities.
Such a FABULOUS effort! Kudos to Boomer!!!
DITTO! ! !
Maybe there has been a family accident or death in someone's family.
It's like yelling into a canyon….. all ya hear are your own voices ….. ECHO!!!!!
Or at the HGTV offices themselves.
HOPE NOT ! ! ! ! ! ! !
But no answer.
NO ONE MUST HAVE GUESSED IT YET! Is that correct Mary?
Seriously- I don't know which is more shocking to me…the fact that there isn't even a new blog or the fact that I am shocked by that.
Maybe it is the opposite…maybe we are blogging too much and therefore they think the blog is self-sufficient not knowing. I am officially going on strike until there is a new blog topic…my apologies if I don't answer your comments.
I am quite shocked that you are shocked by that. ; ) I will go on strike with you.
Still no new news
no clue, just new comments
….I have the blues!
cking back tomorrow, in hopes that I'll see
a few little words…
Dream Home 2011, VERMONT, it'll be!!!
Maybe Mary is waiting for you top 10 posters over there on the right to say the right State. You all should say South Carolina and see what happens:)
I will say it since I can't commit to a state. South Carolina. Maybe Vermont, Tennessee, Missouri, New York or New Hampshire too. Throw in Pennsylvania too. My commitment issues are getting worse. I used to be on a fence between Tennessee and Vermont. What do you say if you can't make up your mind between 7 things?
HELP!!!!!?
I did say the winning state a gazillion times, Virginia, but still nothing…
LOL!! Yes you did, and still here the echo Virginia ginia inia inia)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
Some of us are on your team, Debra. Keep thinking positive thoughts in favor of VA!
Thanks, Sonny:-) It is VA until the fat lady, or in this case the tiny little brunette sings!
I remember COOP printing out how all the clues matched Vermont…. even the numbers and then LEFT!!
WHOA!! Even then Mary did not show her face! Oopps, what's wrong then?
Maybe they had an earthquake. Not me…. I'm just enjoying the Globetrotters on TV right now!! LOL They are so amazing with their basketball tricks!
Awwww! Mickey Mouse was the referee! LOL
New Hampshire – 4+3+9+2 ("to" was used in a caption, the rest were repeated) =18, 1+8=9, New Hampshire is the 9th state in the Union. It's also called "The Granite State." (granite countertop) Cold winter, rattlesnakes in the woods. Or has this been said already?
OMG, you're a GENIUS!! Virginia Hwy 39 intersects with Virginia Highway 42!! It is VA!!!
Well Vermont lovers…I was telling a friend about the clues, convinced it's somewhere in Minnesota, so my heart dropped when the first word that she replied to was VERMONT!!! I need it to be Minnesota so I can move my parents, 87 and 90 in with me! They would NEVER agree to move out east. Santa Fe, yes, since we own a 'oh so small' plot of land in Deming, NM where my grandmother grew up. But that was last year's dream that I totally missed. I'm still hoping blindly that it's Minnesota just for convenience sake! ha HAA
In light of troubled times in the blog, when the going gets rough, the tough so shopping, and out to lunch. At least I now have something to show for the day—lighter in the wallet and heavier around the waist. You made me do it MARY!
What did you buy. Better yet, where did you eat and what did you eat. Anything to get us started on a new craving?
And now, another sad song!
"Help Us Make It Through the Night."
Take some time with us to share
Make it count and tell it all
Lay it out, just show you care
Give us the writing on the wall.
With good news, no need to hide
Bloggin' 'till the morning's light
All we're askin's to confide
Help us make it through the night.
We don't care if it's in song
More than this, our wish is true
Tell us now, if right or wrong
Help us chase away the blues.
Yesterday is dead and gone
And tomorrow's out of sight
Now we're sad it's been so long
Help us make it through the night.
Coop: So sad. I'm tapping my little feet out singing "Good mornin', good mornin', I'll find a brand new clue, good mornin' , good mornin' to you. "Blue skies do I see". Did Ella ever reveal her little secret? It's TIME HGTV. Or it's been "so long, it's been good to know you".
debrag: I think you are being way too hard on Mary. She has been muzzled. Or maybe fired, or worse yet, is ill.
Sweet Debra, please don't mention her "child", that could be heart breaking. I know we're having fun. Prayers to all of us including HGTV.
Mary knows that debra is kidding and Mary knows how to end this madness. She has been very active on the other blogs so I think we all need to start blaming Jack!
When will HGTV reveal the 2011 Dream Home location you ask? Well, during the Green Home giveaway special of course! If they tell us earlier my guess would be a day or two prior to the special. As one dream ends another begins…
I'm hoping for Vermont. If it were in Minnesota or Wisconsin I would be able to visit so that would be nice. Regardless of where it is located, I bet it will be dreamy! I've loved every home so far! As always, thanks for all your great work HGTV…YOU ROCK!!
C&E: I hope the DH will have a pair of shoes like the boots in the NM DH. Wouldn't that be nice?
OMG: I couldn't believe the things you wear on your feet could send me to admins, but it did. I love a mystery.
Gonna try another.
The Indian Reservations have casinos that are fun.
Again, sent for approval. Hmmm. One last try.
They have slots, I mean lots of fun things to do.
Not to many people can get away with writing s l o t s Katy. Amazing.
Since Vermont is the 14th state to enter the union, I'm guessing that there will be no 14th clue but the reveal instead. Whether or not it is imminent is still to be seen.
did anyone notice there were 9 photos of different states. when Mary commented & listed 5 states – only 4 were pictured. She also mentioned Washington which wasn't pictured & ask a question if there was another state not listed. Was that the clue to make it Washington state? I have never been there but … who knows?
I did and I thought that we might have narrowed it down to the five states – MT, NY, VA, VT & WA .
Remember MT & WA are not east of DH 2010 (one of the snowflake clues)
Well, that one came through. The two forbidden words must have appeared a long time ago on this blog. Let's get up to speed. Front runner: Vermont. Next, in no particular order, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, New Hampshire, New York, Minnesota.
Jack T. Take your time. Pick us a perfect spot. We are in no hurry to hear. Arrrgggh.
What, no Tennessee?
boomer: I just think it's a state farther north than Tennessee. Maybe in the future. Tennessee is cool, I mean it's hot, I mean it has warm weather Love it!
southeast corner blue mountains & right above it the Snake river in Washington St
also when people looked at the countertop they saw marble. what if it ws the fixtures of copper – iron & other metals we were suppose to see? & of course it snows there. so maybe washington st…
I saw a rocky top, as in "Rockytop Tennessee."
I'd say it is either close to Burlington or Rutland as those are the two cities with major airports in VT. I say it is closer to Rutland.
flower looks similar to the coast rhododendron their state flower of Washington
Hating this Windows 7 computer program. It has a mind of its own. Spooky. I get a comment ready to post and then the page flips over to a Google search page. I never clicked on it! Honest! All I did is move the cursor. No clicking going on! AND WHEN I GO BACK TO THE HGTV PAGE I WAS ON…………….. MY COMMENT IS GONE!!!
GGRRRRRR! !
I'm glad not to be the only one that happens to blue.
As Cindy above noted:
:… 4+3+9+2 ("to" was used in a caption, the rest were repeated)…" Virginia State Highway 39 intersects with Virginia State Highway 42!!! Yes, yes, yes, yes…..!
Well I must say – you are definitely persistent Debra!!!!! ^_^
Ed, do not rain on my parade! Haven't I been soaked enough, recently? Take 15 minutes ago, for instance. My husband, me, the dog, two umbrellas, and now a pile of soaking wet sneakers… I repeat, Ed, do NOT rain on my parade!!!
No M'am! LOL
maybe Cartier meant the gold & silver mining?
What I was trying to post was:
"Remember my comment of having fun trying to guess what the NEXT CLUE could possibly be?
My guess this time…….. an owl?"
Why an owl?
Not sure yet. Checking on something that popped up. I'll see if it works out.
Is it because of "Echo Lake" in New Hampshire?? "Whoo-Whoo!" HA!
Very cute! LOL
An owl???? Ok, but only if we can train it to say where)))) where)))) instead of whooo))))) whooo)))))))
It's hard to believe that way way way back—4000 + blog posts ago————-I actually posted on day one that the "sunrise photo clue #13" was AWESOME. 4000 + later—-and It's now the first time in my life I've ever "cringed" at the site of a sunrise.
I hear ya, Me&Khaz&Simi! I STILL think the "Sunrise" is the answer to this clue in some way and do NOT believe it is so obvious to lead us to Vermont. But, that's just my take.
I agree with the too obvious to be Vermont. And it does seem that the sunrise/sunset/mountains have played a role in quite a few of the photos. I think the mention of EAST of 2010 DH ( which was located in CENTRAL NM) is misleading also. I think it means the location is simply in the Eastern part of the state this year.
at the illahe washington they have white beaches.
On House Hunters this Sunday, two newly weds search for their first home in VT – http://www.hgtv.com/house-hunters/newlyweds-searc…
interesting…
I love watching that show…when I get the chance. Gosh, if I had cable HGTV would probably be on all the time, with a few breaks for Animal Planet, National Geographic, The Travel Channel and Discovery.
Same here!
BIG SIGH……..Maybe tomorrow!!
MARY I FELL SORRY FOR YOU. I KNOW MANAGEMENT HAS PUT YOU BETWEEN A ROCK AND A HARD PLACE. I LOVED PLAYING THIS GAME WITH YOU AND ALL THE NICE BLOGGERS. I MY SELF PUT IN 7 WEEKS TO FIND SOUTH HERO ISLAND IN VERMOMT , SOME TIMES AS MANY AS 10 HRS A DAY. TO WHOM EVER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS AT HGTV YOU GET A BIG THUMBS DOWN. ….TO HGTV MANAGMENT THE TV IN THIS HOUSEHOLD IS ON HGTV 20 TO 30 HRS A WEEK ALL HGTV. IF YOU WANT TO KEEP IT THAT WAY FIX THE PROBLEM… STEVE IN DENVER COLORADO
I also believe this clue game has gone on way too long for I never would have started it if I knew it would drag out this long and consume so much of my time. But, yes it was and is my choice to play of which i also started from the beginning and have put in way too many hours with it like Densteve. I really like Challenges and playing games and research so I let the game get the best of me. But, sadly, because of the long length of the location clue game I will not be able to play another one. But I did learn alot about our U.S.A. and have loved meeting all the wonderful bloggers here. So for that, thank you HGTV. Please REVEAL This Week!
It has gone on long but as frustrated as I get occasionally, I still get a belly laugh now and then plus look forward to hearing how my blogging buddies are doing. So…I guess it is not just about the reveal but the esprit de corps.
Well said Boomer!
It's funny how this blog has taken on a life of it's own. When we are working on a clue, we are deligent, and amazingly clever at fact finding, and quite content.
When we are stalled out, we can be quite inventive in keeping ourselves amused. But when people can no longer find things to be amused about, they get whiney, disgruntled, and will start dropping down in posts, and eventually out of posting.
But it's like reading a book, even if it get's a little boring, I have to read through to see how it ends!
This also on the Home Improvement page about a Vermont Meeting House in Quechee – http://www.hgtv.com/home-improvement/vermont-meet…
Good find! Quechee has been a popular guess. It would make a good choice, especially if the crew has already been out to the area. A re-hab of an historical building would be awesome.
george washington on the stamp – washington state
but Sonny – Washington used to be known as the Far East of the west because of the accessibility to Alaska & the real Far East.
Now, that is VERY interesting Joplays!
You have a good point, joplays
