Here comes another numbers clue. The answer you seek is a four-digit number. Look for one number in each HGTV Green Home 2010 caption and then add, subtract or line up the numbers in any order you choose. Ready, set … go!

  1. I never saw the comment about the east direction – which #clue did i miss it in?

joplays on June 10, 2010 at 2:18 am
    • Find it in the additional clues for #12, Snowflake, I believe.

Sonny on June 10, 2010 at 12:46 pm
  2. Hmmm…how about this. 4393….4th letter, 3rd letter, etc…DCIC….D.C I see!

newby on June 10, 2010 at 2:20 am
    • I tried to spell something from the telephone keypad with the numbers. I came up with WIDE.

boomer on June 10, 2010 at 2:35 am
      • Well, that kind of fits. I remember reading something in her clues where she mentioned the words big and long. And I don' t think she had her mind in the gutter lol.

newby on June 10, 2010 at 2:39 am
    • That is Excellent also, Newby! But if so why would she say to add, or subtract or line up any way you want? I guess we do line up letters aye? HA!

      1LMichele on June 10, 2010 at 3:02 am
      • Yeah. And actually you have lined up the numbers too.

  3. Or better yet. This clue was given after I pointed out the big C you can see made by the faucet and it's reflection made in the countertop clue. So, D C I C………dee C I see.

newby on June 10, 2010 at 2:24 am
    • OK, now this really does seem to be a very good possibility. So Newby, are you changing your mind about South Carolina? The only problem I have with that state like I said before was the fact that they have already built one there and have only repeated Florida. But your S and C clues are fantastice too! I will do a little checking into Washington DC. P.S. If this is would be the state why do you think the remark of Mary's that it is NOT KY? What do they have to do with each other?

      1LMichele on June 10, 2010 at 3:08 am
      • No I have not changed my mind about South Carolina……or any S and C combination. I'm just throwing out food for thought I guess.

  4. Good night all,

If it isn't up to 4393 by the time I get up tomorrow I will begin work. I may do some more research on some places I discovered in Virginia. debra, I am kind of getting excited about Virginia now. : )

    • Good night Boomer, I too am sighing and signing off tonight. The blog seems to be in semi-hibernation—–understandably so. You can only scroll through 4000 posts so many times before your mind begins to numb out. Maybe tomorrow. LOL

    • It is now getting into my head. Do you see the yellow line? Once I accidently pressed your
picture and went to your personal site and then went to post. I guess I activated a watchful
eye. I read all of the posts so I follow everyone!!! I certainly don't post as much as you do.
I am just a commentator because I do not know how to research. I can react to the posts
or the research just the same or I can tell my own story and that is my story and I am
sticking to it! I am honored that you would want to follow me Good Luck, Sandy

  5. Clue 12.

Here is the list. She said location is…..

-East of HGTV Dream Home 2010

-Really pretty and home to many good-looking, nice people

-A place where snow falls in the winter

-Kind of close to a body of water

    -Not in Kentucky

    -Friendly to tourists

boomer on June 10, 2010 at 2:33 am

  7. Well – this clue doesn't seem to support Wisconsin very easily. But I'm sticking with it anyway.

    Lora D. on June 10, 2010 at 2:50 am
    • I think if you use this last clue for latlitude, it goes right through Wisconsin.

Sue on June 10, 2010 at 2:58 am

  8. or the US Virgin Islands – that would be a definate dream location

joplays on June 10, 2010 at 2:53 am
  9. Joplays, you would NOT believe how many Washington references there are in this Country! MY, OH MY! From Cities, to Counties, to Lakes, to Mountains, to Railways etc. Plus ways of interpreting the stamp in other ways including the stamp value of 5Cents as in the 5&10 Dime store in Branson, MO.

  10. I still can't post any web sites for Hidden Vista Estates in St. Charles County, Missouri. It's a private, 12- lot development in the St. Louis area, with 3 acre lots. You could do a lot with 3 acres.

    Yawn.

    • RIGHT

SandyLA on June 10, 2010 at 5:16 am

Hope no one is hurt if it is true.

blue on June 10, 2010 at 4:18 am
    • I am wondering if it was originally supposed to be in Tennessee. The flooding there was quite devastating to the communities around the Cumberland River.

I think it would be hard to build Dream Home in a community that has been hit with a disaster because people in the affected communities would rather see resources go to those in need. A Green Home, on the other hand, is usually more modest. Plus, the Green Home is considered more helpful to the environment. I honestly don't see why the Dream Home can't be a Green Dream Home. I know my dream home will be green.

boomer on June 10, 2010 at 7:07 am
      • Does all the clues fit Tennessee…I tried doing SOME research and referring to past blogs but it doesn't quite fit like it does Vermont…

mishi on June 10, 2010 at 6:33 pm
        • mishi, I think the clues fit both states very well. My tendency to lean toward Tennessee was because of the "message" Gail said there was in the art panels in the Green Home dining room. It was probably filmed before the flooding in Tennessee. I think because of the flooding they have had to change the location. Here is what several people put together that I have copied and pasted from another post. Actually the "location" clues do fit Vermont and Virginia quite well.

Honey – in Greek mythology the god of honey is a Titan (Tennessee Titans)

Numbers add up to 16. Tennessee the 16th State

Rice bowls – NCAA Rice Bowl used to be played in TN, now played in LA

Not sure about location clue 4.

Cartier – There is a Billy Ray Cyrus song with a line “I seen all kinds of SHINY THINGS.” It is from the song “Back to Tennessee.” (Now I know the name of 2 Billy Ray Cyrus songs.) : )

Stamps – the only link I could find was the Trail of Tears runs through Tennessee or Cherokee National Wildlife Area. There is also a reference to WWII that Cami came up with, again the National Medal of Honor Museum. The USS Tennessee was damaged at Pearl Harbor, repaired and then rejoined the fleet.

Cow – From her text, she mentions Jamestown. There is a Jamestown, TN that has a huge Amish community. Lots of homemade ice cream.

Clover Bowl is a "bowl" sponsored by the University of Tennessee that gets 4-H members together.

Snake – Tennessee has a huge timber industry plus timber rattlesnakes.

Clue 12 – Not in Kentucky could reference the many areas of Dale Hollow Lake and Kentucky Lake that are shared between Tennessee and Kentucky.

The art panels in the Green Home…

Every Good Boy Does Fine – a way to remember the treble clef. Memphis is home to the blues. Plus there is lots of country and bluegrass music around.

Big Girls Don't Cry – Inspired by the movie Tennessee Partners

Sheep Flew – Could have something to do with the National Medal of Honor Museum in Chattanooga. There is a Black Sheep Squadron exhibit here. Plus there is some kind of national sheep association conference in TN this year. And as 1LMichele mentioned, Dolly the first cloned sheep – Dollywood.

Cami has made a pretty good case for the art panel clues fitting the Von Trapp Family Lodge in Vermont, too.

  18. I really hope its some where in Carolina or maybe somewhere even more east coast. What are you all thinking of?

    Dreamhomer96 on June 10, 2010 at 12:08 am
    • If I can't have the southwest, home in eastern NC will do just fine by me.

ttsousa on June 10, 2010 at 8:08 am
    • There is a really large number of bloggers that are thinking Vermont. Actually, many of us think they have changed the location since the game begin. The clues are so ambiguous, they work for many states. Carolina could be one of them. I am stuck between 6 states (at least it is not 50.) In addition to Vermont, Tennessee, Virginia, New York, New Hamshire, and Missouri. The only thing we know for sure is that it is not in Kentucky and it is east of the 2010 Dream Home.

  49. KIOWA, COLORADO
If that skier is making the letter K and it is indeed in Douglas County Colorado which the clues seem to indicate to me, this would leave KIOWA and it would be a custom house vs a community developement in Castle Rock but same area. Looks like it fits every qualification for a DREAM home. Really has everything. Jobs, good schools, active communities, universities, mountains, planned neighborhoods with TONS of green space and nature. I'll go.
