  2. Hi Guys: Just a suggestion:

Maybe on the ending day of each week during
sweepstakes give aways, “Post how many entries you have from each of the United States” and “Maybe a one years subscription to BH&G Magazine to 1 LUCKY person drawn from each State or the State with the most entries each week”

I average entering the HGTV every time I get on the computer and being retired and 77 years old, that is only 3 or 4 times a week, at which time I read and answer the few E-mails I get. Maybe I will be atleast one of those winners, as I havent won one of the Homes YET.

    Good Luck to all,

    Mrs. Lurene Epting
    Guyton, Georgia

  3. What a wonderful choice! My chosen state for college and our marriage celebration! The home of the Trapp family of Austria and many other wonderful residents. A story book place full of generous and creative people. I love it there and to win a home in Stowe would be a dream come true!!

  6. Stowe: Center of the Universe. Cross-country skiing, fabulous architecture, Rock-skiing on opening day, powder, vistas, no Air-Conditioning-YAY!, Voglauer Furniture, room to think!

  7. I hope the winner gets their property taxes paid for life….this is my hometown. My father, who has property assessed at less than 1.5 million (assessments are VERY high in Stowe) property tax is 34,500.00 a year and going up 25%!
Of course, there are always a variety of service jobs, unless you have a versatile and independent type of work to do. This house will most likely be a second home, as it is on the mountain. But then the taxes are even so much higher!
I am sure it will be beautiful, though.

    • I never even heard of Stowe, Vermont until I read this is where the new hgtv dream home was going to be built…so I went into the internet and looked it up…what type of town was it..how about the people…all I can say is hgtv seems to always find some of the most beautiful places I have seen! I have been trying to win a home with hgtv since the beginning of the contest. I would love to win anyone of the homes. I could truly see myself eating at the Cliff house Resturant ot Fridas Taqueria or the Lounge @ Trapp Family Lodge!! I would love to ski there! Most of all I would love to have family and friends come stay and enjoy the small town atmosphere! What a beautiful dream….All I can say is I hope I am the winner…..I would absolutely love it!! My actual real dream home would be in Hawaii….I truly beleive I have Hawaiian in me…. :) ……However, this home, this place, the people, the area…wow…Much thanks to everyone at hgtv that has always been involved with this contest and all the workers, construction, and just everyone…Here's to keeping my fingers crossed this year I will be the grand prize winner! Sincerely~ Suzanne E. Browne and Nui Puna Iki……………..

  8. I totally love the location & the view. I live in the Arizona South-West so it is thee direct opposite. I am a disabled paraeducator who believes that our horizons are only broadened thru travel & education. Our grammar school age students would be amazed with the entire location & home. Looking forward to more photos!

Aweosome job picking such a unique location with so many winter activities! Most people love the beach, or the heat but I LOVE the snow and the ski village Stowe! Thanks HGTV the winner is a very lucky person that I am incredibly jealous of!

I still havent figured out how to enter the sweepstakes to get my entries into the home givaway. Are there any deer or elk up were the hgtv home is beeing built? It would be nice to see pictures of any live animals. I have never been to vermont, however i can see myself with my family relocating and living there. That would be cool. Well i would love to meet Mr drury. I really thought that he would be nocking on my door to tell me i was the winner of the home in new mexico. But it didnt happen so i had to unpack all my stuff . I was ready to move. This part of the internet is verry new to me, but its good to talk to the computer. I feel like im actually talking to another person. 26. To win this dream home would the most wonderful thing that could ever happen to me and my four grown kids, their partners, my eight grand children and great grandson. I live in a double wide, two bdrm, two ba. mobil home in Mohave Valley, Arizona. The dream home would be great for all of us to get together at once.

  28. I must have been a pilot in another life because these kinds of things attract me soo. This is adventurous and the view must be amazing. I was asked by one of the original P38 pilots- mentioned this before to fly over the Atlantic (short flight) to commemorate the space shuttle pilots that passed away. There were six seats available on the flight and I was asked to fly with the guys.

  29. Maybe you can try tubing down the mountain. At least you are on your butt to start. lol I like tubing as I did try skiing also on the Bunny Hill and a young girl slammed into me also. Then I was finally able to get back up on the skis, when i got to the bottom, they only had a tow rope to get back up the mountain. I thought they had the chair lifts but they only had them on the big mountain. I almost didn't make it back up as my arms were giving way. I prayed to God to help me hold on as I didn't want to slide backward down the mountain. lol
