The Architect’s Inspiration

Hi, fans.
I know you’ve been dying to get your hands on the 2011 floor plans. That’s not going to happen this week, but what I can share is info directly from this year’s architect, Paul Robert Rousselle. During a recent chat I asked Paul about his design inspiration, and what unfolded was the most heartfelt story. Being a history buff, I have to admit that I myself had goose bumps as Paul shared the experience of sifting through old photos of Adirondack Great Camps, circa 1890s to 1920s, before sketching out ideas for house planner Jack Thomasson.
Take some time today to click through HGTVPro.com’s slideshow on Paul’s design process, then pop back here to share your thoughts.

seven of the top ten least expensive places to live are in Texas, Arkansas, Kentucky, and Tennessee.
But I would not want to live in TX or AR.
I will grant you that, but a lot of people would like to live there. I don't know about Arkansas, but Texas is a wonderful place to live. You probably would like to live somewhere I wouldn't. That is what makes us all individuals. That is why this place is so great to be. We can all be ourselves, and we don't all have to like the same things.
My parents retired to Northern Arkansas, and it's beautiful! Of course, the summers are spent in Colorado, because it's a bit warm then…
there are 3 hoa's in Stowe???? who knows???? http://www.75vn.com/companydirectory/realestate/s…
maybe just for condos?
Katydiddle: When we moved into our current home, Emma had my husband paint her room to feel like she was at the sea, but with a twist. The walls are divided into two colors – the upper half is a dark turquoise and the lower half is the color of wet sand – with a white chair rail running around the room. She wanted it to feel like she looking out into the ocean. She's accessorized with shells, lighthouses, ships in bottles – anything that reminds her of the sea. Her room is upstairs, and I think she wanted to feel like she was in a lighthouse to some extent! But lately she's started to ask about re-painting (something a little more grown-up and feminine)….
Hi everybloggie!
We have a town wide "watering advisory", so the only water our lawn enjoys is the natural stuff that comes from clouds :O) Isn't it ironic that the lawn can be yellowing….and yet a sprig of bright green grass can find the tiniest crack in the driveway ! lol.
ty feeling lousy – needed a laugh
wow – love all those things to do. chocolate -wimeries – quarry & I have to try that ride down the hill on that matt thing – looks like so much fun …
sounds awesome – no bears invited to the patio BBQ. lol
Some outdoor places would have roofs I hope.
Jack isn't letting us see them pour more concrete.
Come on Jack, we just want to enjoy the thrill of the DH building process!
Wow- a quick poll for 2012…it looks like it won't be my Disney house, but it does look like it will have a water view!
It might be a gulf view right across the state from Disney World for you Disney. Or it could be the Pacific near Disney Land. Keep hoping!
Or on the Washington/Oregon coast right near my sister's house.
That would be my preference. Where does your sister live Disney?
A *TINY* town between Raymond and Astoria on the water.
I don't know where Raymond Oregon is. I have passed by Raymond Creek many times on my way to fishing in Astoria. Raymond Creek is on the Columbia River. There are a lot of VERY TINY communities between there and Astoria. Most don't even have the usual gas station and bar that makes them a town! ^_^ Usually when I am in Astoria it is drizzling on me while I am fishing.
Raymond is on the WA side.
Gotcha! I wasn't thinking. I will have to see where Raymond WA is.
That would be glorious
Did Mountains win the 2011 quick quiz?
Last I saw coastal was way ahead!
I think Ed is right…maybe that is why they are looking back at the coast for 2012.
Hmmm….a new week…maybe we have floor plans to look forward to this week…???
They are showing the video again of Myra Lewis and saying that she now calls New Mexico home…I know that she at least originally kept the house, but I wonder if that is a confirmation that she is living there now.
Not sure if she is keeping it….I would …for as long as possible…..hope she enjoys it for at least a little while. It's my favorite DH so far!
An interview or artcle before had her saying something to the effect that while she loved the house she might've been better off if she hadn't kept it which makes me wonder if she will get the chance to live in her beautiful prize.
Oh this is new Our Army- you must have found this info recently.
Nope- it was around the time that they showed her doing the tour.
I looked back at the video, and it appeared to be a recap of the winning events. It is great, but i looked for a current interview about NM, and couln't find anything. Army have you seen anything new on this piece?
yeah- I looked and saw the video was old…I was going off of the caption
Hi Army, I checked online last night to see any further updates. It would be great to a current interview. i'll bet Myra is loving everything about Sandia Park, and Chris has probably been embraced by the art community.
"Eight feel-good websites to brighten your day" — what more can I say!

Enjoy!
loved the babies – the ironbaby & fighting for kisses were sent to my daughter – she will love em too.
THANKS, we needed that!
Hello y'all, hope all is well for everyone. Have a great day and a great week.
Hi Cami….seems like things have been a little slow around here! hope to see you later……
Hi, just popped in for a moment.
Hope yours is great too.
Hi Zip…..
Katydiddle: When we moved into our current home, Emma had my husband paint her room to feel like she was at the sea, but with a twist. The walls are divided into two colors – the upper half is a dark turquoise and the lower half is the color of wet sand – with a white chair rail running around the room. She wanted it to feel like she was sitting in the sand looking out into the ocean. She's accessorized with shells, lighthouses, ships in bottles – anything that reminds her of the sea. Her room is upstairs, and I think she wanted to feel like she was in a lighthouse to some extent! But lately she's started to ask about re-painting (something a little more grown-up and feminine)….
i like this video http://music.aol.com/video/boots-on/randy-houser/…
the kid is adorable – must be his son – seen others with him in it doing his music.
Sure looks like him! Enjoyed it joplays!! Thanks!
A real knee slapper! LOL
I am sitting here and ENJOYING this videos about the Tyler, Texas Dream Home!!
Would be a home that I would like alot of its features copied into this 2011 dream home. http://www.hgtv.com/video/hgtv-dream-home-2005-vi…
High ceilings and huge great room too. Even has an elevator in this Texan DH.
Hey Jack, how about a glass home elevator for this Stowe Dream Home? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVqqoJ2YeW0
That elevator is stainless steel Jack, so it would go with stainless steel kitchen appliances!
I agree but the pool needs to be heated. lol Or ice skate on it in winter lol.
ELEVATOR Wow Yah-hoo z
I wonder if I'll run into Myra Lewis while I'm here in Santa Fe? Hope so—I've got lots of questions for her! Maybe I can get an invite to her new home in San Pedro Overlook? Regardless, I plan on having a great time in the area, although I won't personally be looking for any turquoise wraps….
Have a good time! If you get to say hi to Myra, tell her hi from all of us too!
Ask her what she loves most in her new dream home! So many wonderful things, got to be hard to pick just one! So don't……. let her gush out the whole list!
Hey you RJMstone, weren't you going up to upstate New York last week. If you are going this week, maybe you can visit the Vermont Dream Home, while DBCoop is visiting the Sante Fe Home. What a coincidink.
Hey dear Janzee,
No I didn't get up to upstate NY . Just mentioned Chelsea Clinton's wedding was going to be in upstate NY. Sadly I didn't get an invitation. lol I'm fine with that! lol She was a beautiful bride. Best Wishes for her! Might send her a wedding card tho. Would love to get an official thank you card from them.
DBCoop is lucky to be on vacation. Sounds like Coop is enjoying New Mexico. ^_^
"The Way You Look Tonight" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wi2g9UmB1kU
The father/ bride song at Chelsea's wedding. Read where she wiped a tear from her dad's face during the dance.
Watching Bill tear up would give me the chils, what an image.
I am sure Monica Lewinski felt the same way! ^_^
Still having problems getting back to posts. I just read your Monica post, and got a good chuckle. I always set you up, George, love
Gracie. I didn't make it to the semi finalists, put my hands in my pockets and walked around the block a few times, till snappin my gum. Thanks for your Bazooka good luck, I'll use it for upcoming projects. About an hour ago, I put in a call to the originator/founder of another family film festival, so I will enter this one with some new encouragement. I wonder if I am turning into a contest droid, although I still have my adroids.
Thank you for setting me up again Gracie. You forgot to say good night George. Sorry you didn't make the Semis. You've got the right idea though – keep entering. And keep your PMA (positive mental attitude) up. ^_^
I didn't run into Myra while wandering the Plaza today, but did enjoy the Opera in the Plaza program, and the jazz band that took the stage later. I have already eaten far too much, so I have to cut back the rest of the week, and still manage to enjoy all the great food that's available here.
If I see Myra, I'll be sure to ask her the question about what she loves most about the DH, and make a list of all her responses.
Dear Coop thanks for writing to us- imagine that, you are on vacation, and still reaching out to us. It sounds like you are having an incredible time. Did you happen to ride by Turquoise Trail?
Hope old Mr. Weather doesn't make it too hot down there Coop!
Heard the evenings are cooler! Enjoy!
After the heat of S CA, the temps here couldn't be more perfect. As I walked back to the hotel this evening from dinner at a Plaza restaurant, the air was so fresh and cool…heavenly.
I think tomorrow will be a museum/shopping/walking day, and hopefully I can resist eating my way from one end of town to the other!
I was in Santa Fe in June, and I'm so curious about which restaurants you are visiting. Is it OK for you to name names, or would you be violating some type of promotional ethics?
DBCoop, cool calm and collected. You are doing just what the rest of us should be doing in the dog days of summer. Kick up your heels, and have a great time. Remember the words veggies Coop!!!!!!!!
Hope you have a great time……are you planing to go take a look around the neighborhood even if you don't get that personal invite?
I'm certainly going to be cruising the Turquoise Trail, through Madrid and Los Cerrillos, and down to Sandia Park. Getting through the gates at San Pedro Overlook may be an issue, but I'll see how it goes.
H_S told me that he recently rode his motorcycle to SPO but couldn't get past the gates. Let us know if you got through, using your Coop charm!
Wyo_Girl. How is H.S? Send him our love, that adventure man.
Hyo Wyo, thanks for the updated update. I know you will sneak in any new information about adventure man's whereabouts as perseverative as it may be.
Shall I write to the admin, to ask for your special admittance to Sandia Park. Maybe we can all put out an all points to Mary to get you access to at least see the front elevation of the 2010 home. P.S. I hope you get to see the blinkin stars.
Can you do me a favor Coop. If you have an opportunity to go to Turquoise trail, grab a lawn chair and watch the blinking stars in the night sky. I called a small Chamber outside of Sante Fe, and the woman that worked there told me that these blinking stars have an unworldly intelligence that you will be most intrigued with. Have a wonderful time dear Coop, and please offer us any tidbits from your worldy traveled. We adore you, Janzee.
I do have a ticket to the Opera, which is open air, so maybe I can enjoy both the Opera AND the blinking stars. I'll keep you posted, unless I get abducted by aliens and have to spend a few days orbiting the earth in a spaceship.
I don't think you will find any prolonged boredom at the opera, but you can always say "beam me up Scotty", during the intermission, for just enough time for a quick orbit, and get you right back to your seat. Have a wonderful trip DBCoop, enjoy every moment of your adventure.
DBCoop, your comment, "…unless I get abducted by aliens…" gave me a chuckle! Thanks. The idea of alien abductions has always been an intriguing idea to me.
I read the book "Abduction" by the Harvard psychiatry professor Dr. John Mack many many years ago. The true stories are very interesting and scarey. Hope none of those pretty stars you will be gazing at Coop, will be moving your way. Be safe.
Someday I will tell you one of my stories RJM, although it might be a little to way out for the site.
I doubt if anything would be way out for this site. We are all ears! ^_^
It's one of those stories, that I can probably have investigated under hypnosis. I think I may have mentioned this on the site about a year ago when we were all telling unusual stories. I have toned done my wildness a bit, so if I tell it again, I will put it in a capsule.
I would love to hear your story Ms. Janzee! I'm interested in all subjects of stories!
Wish I could write a story like you did and enter it in a contest. You are amazing!
Thank you RJMstone, my entry into Scriptapalooza was for fun, and was dared by another writer friend claiming that chance could be good to me. I didn't make the semis, but it was alot of fun and will certainly try again. The best bet is to have an agent- I did that at one point also, but he retired and encouraged me to keep writing for family. For your own love of writing check out Joblo.com, and you will see lots of scripts from A-Z that you would enjoy reading. Now the short version of the space story. I told part of this one, when I first came on about a year ago. I will preface it by saying that I have very accurate childhood memories, my family concurs.
Coop, if you get abducted by aliens, would you please send Mary back down?
Anne I miss you! LOL. That would be so self sacrificing of Coop to offer to take her place.
LOL LOL
No abduction yet, no sign of MARY, and no sighting of Myra Lewis so far. Three strikes, but I'm still on the trail for another couple of days, so anything's possible….
HI Coop! Any luck getting to see DH 2010? I forgot to ask my husband if he got a glimpse when he was there in June, but he is not a DH addict like me so he may not have even thought to ask — can you believe it? At least you will be able to see some of those gorgeous sunsets!
Hey Coop, Orbiting the earth for a couple of days sounds like fun. You always come up with the best ideas for vacation fun. Seriously, you should get a Travel Channel show.
Make sure you aren't surrounded by any aluminum and you just might have a good chance. Have fun.
Sometime in the near future, when the next dream house is won in Stowe, some of us may decide to take a little visit stay at the lodge, do a little skiing, and sight-seeing and perhaps see one DBCoop, who may invite us to his own residence- the 2011 DREAM HOME home. Can you imagine the party the Coop would throw at his new home.
I get the impression DBCoop likes to go incognito.
If Coop won the 2011 Dream Home and gave a party, do you think he would show up with a bag over his head? Like the "Unknown Comic"?
Hope if winner Coop throws this party, we don't mind if he wants to stay in the shadows of the balconies! Whatever makes you happy!
Hey RJMstone, well then ,if DBCoop as the guest of honor hosts the party with a bag over his head, then the rest of us will have to come with variations of canvas or paper bags,,, that way the viewing public will be clueless who the real winner is. It reminds me of the Vegas Show Blue Men.
Hey… if I get an invite to this party where we all wear bags on our heads…. I will do the same. I would love to meet all you nice people. But have to have a few holes in the bag for seeing and tasting the wonderful fruity drinks! LOL
DBCoop ……. keep trying to win!
We will make sure we put a straw into that puppy mouth and feed you some delicious fruity drinks.
There is a famous graffiti artist that shows up in various areas of LA to draw cartoons, and do artwork on walls. To date noone has seen his face, but he still takes the credit, in masked costume. If Coop won, I think he may peel the mask, or send in a replacement. Any takers?
Wonder who DBCoop's replacement would be?
When you think of Coop, who do you see him as?
What an amazing question RJMstone. I was supposed to do laundry at our apartment in LA, and took a long walk down the hallway, thinking and smiling about your question-brilliant!!! When you are sitting in a soundproof room like this reply box, sometimes your mind wanders, and you wonder what we look or sound like. Our Coop….his appeal is in his words, wit, poetry, and generous commentary about all topics. He's fascinating and could not be replaced, he is simply one of a kind. Like you, I think I fall in love with words, ideas, and philosophy. I have that same feeling for everyone on the site, knowing that everyone here has their own special qualities and talents. I have no movie star images or preconceived notions of Coop he is Just COOP.
DBCoop, I'm posting this reply so an email will be sent to you. Have you logged in yet today to see a new giveaway – NYC apt!
http://blog.hgtv.com/dreamhome/2010/08/03/big-new…
You know, there is an airport out there in NM.
Maybe Coop is going to fly into NY, NY and check out the POSH PAD
Jack and Vern have decorated!
Maybe HGTV needs to hire our DBCoop, so he can get a first hand look at the latest and greatest.
Good idea!
HGTV: Thanks to our great bloggers we can get along just fine without pics or floor plans. They are posting entertainment. You are not. Guess I'll look at "Eight Feel Good websites". That should take about several hours while Mary and you guys figure out what is wrong with the Green Home blog. I need to feel good. Pleasant Dreams.
make sure you see the cute babies "Ironbaby" & "Fighting for Kisses"
Hi sweetie, thank you for telling me about the Nichols fund there are so many opportunities for female writers/producers these days and I am looking at lots of opportunities that focus on family entertainment.
Hi everyone, after being away for the week end I was afraid I might have missed a new thread…..or something! What a disappointment!
Hope everyone is taking time to enjoy the great weather we are all having…..I was over on the east side of the Cascades this weekend…we had lots of smoke from forest fires…..even some thunder storms…including some good sized HAIL!! It was in the mid 90's, nice to get back to the west side and a little cooler temperatures.
HGTV….it's nice to see the new banner up top…..I like the color scheme……
I still have some catching up to do…..
Welcome back!
Thanks…..really expected something new today!
Just checked out the Quick Vote…..thanks Our Army Family for the heads up……I certainly hope the 2012 Dream Home will have a view of the Pacific! It's got my vote!
I got sent this from a friend in Virginia & searched the net for the Adorable 12 Commandments.
Hope you like them. http://geeks.pirillo.com/profiles/blogs/adorable-…
This is my very favorite hole in the wall restaurant in Seattle. But on some of my first visits there I didn't know what to think. How could someone talk to a little old lady like that. Just because I didn't know what to order. Today when I went in those very ladies made my turkey sandwich and they remembered me. Jason pointed to the list of soups (still don't have the routine figured out take too much time). He picked the soup out for me and gave me a large cup for small cup price. They were all so nice to me so I blurted out "what in the heck is wrong with you guys you never treat me nice". Then I said "I keep coming back because the food is the best in Seattle and the price is right"! Here is a video of how it is down in that little basement restaurant. http://www.king5.com/on-tv/evening-magazine/Bakem…
do they have ham & swiss on rye with a dill pickle – otherwise I might get thrown out. lol
I have a feeling joplays that even if ham & swiss on rye with a dill pickle was on the menu he would have a reason to throw you out! Just have that feeling don't know why! How are you feeling by the way? That sandwich sounds good one of my favorites. Got to have that dill pickle!
One thing I like about Colorado. It has all the seasons too. If you aren't in the part where it snows a lot, it is not too far. Stayed in Keystone once in the spring & it is beautiful in that area. It had shuttles that took us to an outlet mall & there was a hayride to a BBQ. It is kinda like the center of the country. Also been to Evergreen Colorado & that is beautiful too. Medium weather . . . never too harshly hot or extremely cold.
One of the biggest differences about Vermont vs. Colorado, and I love them both, is that Colorado is "rocky" mountains, and beautiful scenery, whereas Vermont is "earth" mountains and beautiful scenery. In the summer in Vermont, the ski areas are a beautiful green where it begins to grow in before the snow sets. I spent every summer of my youth in Colorado,My grandfather helped to build the Royal Gorge, I taught at the Abbey at Canon City, I have family in Fort Collins, Denver, and Golden, and my friends own a ranch in Estes Park, and others I know have condos in Winter Park. I was unaware of HGTV land prior to 2010 so when I saw the Winter Park home I was saddened that I didn't have the chance to enter the sweepstakes. However, I am just as excited about the Vermont home as I also have family in Vermont and Mass. I love four distinct season. (sorry, kind of got carried away with the family hx.)
No new photos leaked yet?
CeeJoy, time for us to find that star in the sky and start wishing.
let's say it together –
Star light, star bright, first star I see tonight. I wish I may, I wish I might…see a Dream Home pic tonight!!
I'm with you! It will be a while yet before the stars are out here on the West coast!
Forgot who the Westies are!
It's definitely dark and quiet here. I'm surfing around, catching up on the news for today…
My little ones have been down for hours…I'm sitting hear listening to the peepers and the cicadas…
I'll find a star for you too, until your sunset
Thanks! I could use an extra wish or two!
After lunch headed to my other favorite place Starbucks. This video's character is Bunny Swan a manicurist. She says her mother was Spanish and her father was from space. Sometimes she says she is Hungarian from Iceland. Anyway she is very very funny. I think her character and I have a lot in common. Warning two words at the end are swear words. But it is worth watching for some laughs! Bunny Swan at Starbucks! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b69Bj9H1zZY
great analogy between Bakemans & the Starbuck skit. lol I will make my own sandwich so I don't get arrested for wanting rye bread. WHAT DO YOU WANT? Probably say "I want a ham & swiss on rye with mustard lettuce & a dill pickle" DONT HAVE THAT " Bet there's another sandwich shop round these parts." Calls the cops to arrest the southerner that talks too slow. But I never make it to the sandwich shop cause there's a Bistro on the corner that serves wine & cheeses & chocolates.
How many of you are out there just waiting for something new to happen? Not commenting…..just reading? Anyone willing to do a roll call??? Mary…..HGTV We're here!!!
Here!
Hi love, so glad to see you posting. I have missed our conversations months ago, when I was Janice/Vegas.
Time to say goodnight…….it's HGTV time………………..maybe tomorrow will bring us something new.
You were right! When you come back tonight, check out –
http://blog.hgtv.com/dreamhome/2010/08/03/big-new…
news is over & I took some drugs & prefer to passout somewhere else other than the computer. This liquid is better than nyquil but sure it isn't better than Zips Magic Elixir. night all
Good thinking joplays! Sometimes texting on those drugs can be funnier than "twd" (texting while drunk). Something that should be avoided at all cost! lol
Im putting this as a reply to you can get a msg from me…If you feel well enough tonight, there is a new link to check out about another giveaway.. Very cool looking NY apt.
http://blog.hgtv.com/dreamhome/2010/08/03/big-new…
Starting September 1, enter for a chance to win an apartment at The Residences at W New York-Downtown.
Check out those two new blogs!
Hi joplays,I hope you are feeling better. There is a product called oscillicoccillum which you can get at Whole Foods Market, and it will shorten your duration of cold symptoms.
I am already thinking ahead to 2012………Please build a home in Maryland, near DC someplace. That would be the best Dream Home ever!! Or…..it would also be wonderful if Green Home 2011 were in Maryland, near DC. One can only hope!
Do you live in the DC area ?
There already has been on in MD. Lets move it around!
Wow. It's hard enough for me to think ahead to the Stowe 2011 giveaway, and you're already on 2012? My head hurts.
WASTED DAYS AND WASTED NIGHTS
Freddy Fender
(1st Verse)
Wasted days and wasted nights,
I have left for you Behind
for you don't belong to me,
your heart belongs to someone else.
(2nd Verse)
Why should I keep loving you,
when I know that you're Not true?
And why should I call your name,
when you're to blame
for making me Blue?
(chorus)
Don't you remember the day,
that you went away and left me?
I was so lonely,
prayed for you only,
my love
I love that song!!
Good choice of songs
Hey everybody! Did y'all see the new poll on the main page. About the DH 2012
I know it was on there yesterday. lol But I just saw it because I worked yesterday. Sorry lol
O what a beautiful Morning
from Oklahoma
There's a bright golden haze on the meadow
There's a bright golden haze on the meadow
The corn is as high as an elephant's eye
And it looks like it's climbing right up to the sky
O what a beautiful morning, O what a beautiful day
I've got a beautiful feeling, everything's going my way
All the cattle are standing like statues
All the cattle are standing like statues
They don't turn their heads as they see me ride by
But a little brown mav'rick is winking her eye
O what a beautiful morning, O what a beautiful day
I've got a beautiful feeling, everything's going my way
All the sounds of the earth are like music
All the sounds of the earth are like music
The breeze is so busy it don't miss a tree
And an ol' weeping willow is laughinU at me
O what a beautiful morning, O what a beautiful day
I've got a beautiful feeling, everything's going my way
So, now all of the comments and questions regarding NYC make sense. I'm guessing the comments are off so that we talk more there. I am wondering if this is a new "permanent" thing or just testing the waters and if it does become "permanent" will it replace the green home since they are using green techniques in most of their building now.
I'm also guessing any new info here will be put on the back burner.
Unless all of the cameras in VT broke at once they have to have some new photos! Not sure if GH is gone but may be. Truthfully 'green' should be in most building.
ok i missed something here will have to go back and read to find out.
ok i found out what you are talking about i seen that somewhere else before it was put on here. Just though it would be a new give away did not think it would replace anything. Do not know we will have to wait and see.
Not necessarily that they WILL replace something, just my speculation as they didn't put up a link to the Green Home blog when they redid the page formats and they haven't updated it.
As for the past part with NYC…when they were giving out the clues on location and they asked our thoughts on NYC.
Yesterday my husband had to go to Greenville, Sc to do a job. So i rode along with him. Spent the afternoon at the Fall Park along the Reedy River. It is just beautiful right in the main town. Has a couple of falls and a park along the river. It was a nice way to spend the afternoon. Had a nice relaxing time.
sounds great. I wish we could share pics on here lol. Well, the pic in my mind is really good.
I attended a wedding there and found the area to be just as you described. It sounds like
you had a nice visit, too.
http://www.reedyriver.org/
HOLEY SMOKE I'm bar shaw,
You should punch Jack T in the shoulder and let him see this video. (Reedy River, SC) WOW!
Could be a spot for a HGTV Dream Home! I'm ready to walk across those smooth river stones in ankle deep water right now!! Looks like my dog, Dewey, is already here!! LOL
Thanks for sharing! http://www.reedyriver.org/
Imbarshaw, the video of Fall Park and the Reedy River—-is wonderful. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Deerspring. Pretty wow!!! Huh?
http://www.reedyriver.org/
Dear JWimson, Ithink of Robert everyday and say a prayer. Thanks for the progress report. Give Robert a hug for me.
God Bless

This home makes me think a lot about the movie Dirty Dancing. Ilove the lodge/camp concept.
"Dirty Dancing" movie song

Remember the clue about NYC, and how many bloggers were totally against a Dream Home in NYC.
I guess Mary was testing the waters, and the waters boiled with negative thumbs for anyone that was for NYC. So sad.
I for one couldn't live there, but an extended trip would be divine. I could see all the sites and take in a broadway show or two.
If it had good rental possiblities?? Even better. Then I would have an excuse to make another trip to NYC, when it was vacant.
Starting September 1, enter for a chance to win an apartment
at The Residences at W New York-Downtown. Maybe even
a sailboat.
Check out those two new HGTV blogs!
Pictures…. http://123washingtonstreet.com/site.aspx?r=0
Thanks for presenting this to us MJstone. I would love to enter a New York apartment. Right up my alley. My grandmas street address was on washingtonavenue
The blog moster strikes again. Like this. Don't be fooled by my size. Never let anyone mess with my son! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ivUOnnstpg&fe…
When Mosters are created they don't seem to go away! ^_^
I like to drive you and everybody else crazy! I just got a thought and that is rare I must say! Maybe that is what happened to Mary and Jack T and the HGTV crew and the builders and everyone else involved in the DH I drove them crazy!
Hi Deerspring, I could not get back to your earlier comment to me. I just wanted to say it is great to see ya whenever you come in.
Ok. So a while back people were wondering about the HOA fees and all of that of living at Stowe Mountain Resort. So I emailed them asking this question and they just responded.
Annual Homeowner Association dues for the Homesites are $2,621 in 2010. This pays for general upkeep of the common areas of the Master Association and snowplowing of the roads. Amenities at Spruce Peak are accessed through Club membership. Membership combines ski passes, golf, spa & wellness center and Alpine Club. Please see the attached for additional Club information.

$2,621 per year !!!
It's time HGTV bulid somewhere that does NOT have HOA fee's
They did that on the blog cabin this year. Hopefully they hear us about the Dream Home & Green Home!
maybe they don't think it is a dream without the golf & skiing & pools etc. but we all have vehicles or a way to get to those things without paying for the rest of out lives. Know my retirement in ten years would have to be delayed to pay the dues. Social Security may not be there when I retire. All members of Congress need to go by the rules we do. Their congressional retirement fund moves to social security & they get what the American people get. They want this health care they need to take it too. Being our representatives should be an honor & paid while there & not a job for life. You know they have their own health care system separate from normal Americans. Do not believe that is what our founding fathers had in mind at all. Getting further from capitalism & closer to socialism & it scares me that these elite are in charge.
funfordot—–"Ouch"—–this makes my HOA fees look —-not quite so annoying. I'm discovering I'm not a big fan of HOA fees—–they tend to be subject to the "whim" of the Association. Thanks for the info.

Now, did everyone leave because they are too overwhelmed with all the Scripps giveaways? Not sure where to comment and what to say? I have looked on all new blogs that I know about and things have seemed to slow way down.
Maybe it's just the time of day.
Hi Cami, I'm here. I usually have to wait until the kids are down. We got a late start tonight.
I like the idea of staying here at Architect's Inspiration. The Urban Oasis does not have "the last comments for" on the right of the page. Although it doesn't jump to the comment. It does let you know what is happening….
No I think most of us want to see new photos or floor plans. We are simply bored. and personnly I get tired of song lyrics cluttering up the pages.
I knew it I just knew it. I know a Blue Angel when I hear it. I live half way up a big hill and Boeing Field is at the bottom of the hill. Just far enough away but still see planes taking off and landing there. Also can see planes taking off and landing at Sea-Tac Airport and also Renton Airport. Lot of action going on at Soney and my home! Besides living on a busy street. Soney loves the excitement. A dog got away from her owner yesterday running in that busy street. But she came over to the fence to check Soney out. Her owner was able to catch her. Could have easily got hit by a car. Back to the Blue Angels they fly right over our house for several days at Seafair. Lot of the neighbors have parties. This video is the Blue Angels landing at Boeing Field and if you look close you can see Boeing's new 787 when they land. http://www.king5.com/news/local/Blue-Angels-arriv…
