Take some time to watch the videos, then pop back here to talk. Also, click through this informative slideshow on the framing process: builder Brendan O’Reilly and his crew did an amazing job — those gable-end walls speak to the team’s skill and attention to detail.

Good morning Wow! It has taken some time to catch up with everything going on with these blogs the last few days. Cami—-what on earth is this all about? If YOU—of all people—are in trouble—-what's lurking out there for the rest of us? Yikes! This is ridiculous to say the least!!!! The DEDCATION YOU GIVE TO THIS SITE—- they owe you an apology—ON THIS BLOG SITE! ( ok, I'll probably be next on the list, oh well)
NEW video—-it's great to see the interior—-and why do they keep moving that barn door around for some odd reason?
POLL—-70 some % will keep it? Give me a break! My motto is something like the line from the movie–Jerry McGuire—-"SHOW ME THE MONEY!"
Ok, that's it for now LOL to everyone.
Loved the fish-eye views of the DH. What a nice place it's going to be! My favorite part is the windows! So much light and fantastic views. Way to go Jack and Paul. Great design!
What do you think the H.O.A. fees are for the urban oasis condo??
Someone posted a link to the real estate listing for another apartment in the same building. As I recall it listed the HOA fees at $1,200 per month. Another blogger checked into parking fees for the ACURA and said that would be another $500. If you add insurance and property taxes for a 1.5 million property in NYC, I think you are looking at well over $3,000 per month even if you could pay the income taxes and avoid having a mortgage. There is a reason that NYC salaries are so high. It costs a fortune to live there!
That being said, it is such an amazing apartment. The dream is irresistible! And finding a job in a city that size would be easier than many of the other homes.
I'm dreaming about it anyway. Imagine walking to Battery Park every morning with your Latte. Imagine trying to decide which Broadway show to see tonight, which fabulous restaurant to eat in… Or just spending the evening at home looking out over the lights of the city…
StateofDenial1, isn't dreaming great?!!!
Hi alicesoneysmom——You two are great—–the girls and I look forward to your posts. You two are the "sunshine" on this blog. Keep sharing——and thanks A Soney hug from the girls and LOL
Oh thank you MeKhazSimi having friends like all of you sure helps me through some rough times. I am so lucky I live just a short distance from the VA hospital and thank my lucky stars I am eligible to go there. So many appointments. Had to leave again today and Soney changed his name to Marley started running around the house grabbing whatever he could with me chasing after him. I had to stop and watch him and started laughing. Did he think I might stay home with him if he made a mess of the house! Oh what sweet innocent eyes. Music works wonders. A big Slurpy Kiss from Soney to the girls!
Sometimes you just have to let go and let Mr. Fate and Miss. Lady Luck decide. I'm thinking if you win the Dream Home you can buy your own Blog Cabin or the Green Home of your choice in an area that's less expensive. ____I'm a fan of the Blog Cabin as far as livin goes. But would welcome a win of anything at this point.
? IntenseDebate Notification <DIV> <DIV>You're right. My husband has hardly ever left the county and the thought of trying to talk him into moving clear across the county would be fruitless. Themost comfortable for him would be the blog cabin.</DIV> <DIV style=”FONT: 10pt arial”>

Hi Katydiddle, my son-in-law is the Pres. of a Christian Charities group dealing with low-cost
housing. He is in charge of building two homes over in the community. He tells me that all
the families are middle class and the houses are mostly selling for way less than a million.
So the prize of the GH may be much less than the others. He says the community is gorgious
and most people are out-doorsy and lots of people WALK so friendliness and cooperation are
in abundance.
Hey Khazzie or Simi tell your mom that everyone in this large family is fun loving and the door moves
to see if anyone is paying attention! "They" get a kick out of making us moan or laugh!!!
Between the Blog Sites getting itchy and my bad computer it has taken me three days to finally catch
up to here. I had a plan but then MARY, the sweetheart that she is, gave me a head ache. I cannot
keep up with all this jumping around from site to site and sometimes the sites are very inhospitable
( is that even a word?). I am caught up with pictures, videos, HGTVPro, and DH for now. I am moving
on to the next Blog to catch up there. I hope that I can climb the mountain and finish today! See you
guys around. I am leaning toward the Green Home first and Dream Homes second.
Hi SandyLA Paying attention is the "key phrase" these days. Yes—" fun-loving group"—-is why we all keep logging in every chance we get. So enjoy this blog site and group of wonderful characters. LOL
How is your post Labor Day, Day going? Are you wondering when the next Holiday will come along and give you that much needed extra day of rest from your daily grind.. I feel for you, 'cause unless you work at the bank or school, you may not get one until Veterans Day, and even some have to work on that day. Hang in there and keep dreaming about the Dream Home it seems to help make those long stretches between extra days off, less stressful.
I should also mention those who long to get back into the daily grind, and probably wanting to work every Holiday. The Dream helps to ease that heavy burden too. Just keep hitting the pavement, to keep your dreams in check. We do have to maintain some semblance of reality when dreaming.
Hi 2Cami You stated this so well—and it's so true.
Have you heard anything from HGTV or Intense Debate today? Have you noticed that at the bottom of blog page all comments are now by Intense Debate only. What happened to WordPress? And weren't there several others as well?
I haven't really heard much. I have been communicating with Abby from the Message Boards. I don't know if she can help me or not though. I think Chad P might be able to help, if only he could hear my cries for help.
Other than not wanting to confuse people and get them thinking there are two different cami's, I am beginning to accept my special Dream Home name. I almost even like it, I think I just like it 'cause it's colorful though. I've never thought people should have two ID's and now I find myself exactly in that situation, so for that reason I guess I really just need My Dream Home name cami restored to me, so I can let 2cami go away peacefully without incident… I don't know I might decide I like her too much.
I admire your optimistic attitude about all of this. You are adored by all of us and are an important part of this blog, and while I agree with you about each person having one ID—right now it doesn't matter how many you have or which one you choose, as long as you keep posting, and hopfully this will be resolved soon.
The blogs all seem really quiet today for some reason, maybe everyone is busy gearing up for school, fall etc. Tomorrow's another day. Dreamin' on LOL
Lovin the progress – My Sis lives in N.H., We would be 2hours and 18 minutes away, if we were to WIN!!!
Don't think we have seen this before from Good Morning America. Soney would sure love all that snow in Stowe. Just the few times it snowed here he had so much fun. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8lpkjvJBS8
Beautiful scenery!
Actually my post from above belongs here! Too funny. I do like the music videos too.
Back in NYC an oldie but goodie! Do you think that this is where Mary got the words "right smack dab in the middle" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7F_opWg9_qI&fe…
I like the contrast of this video with the previous one. It definitely shows the features of both
areas. Snow country or big city activity…………???
Wonderful! Thanks so much for posting. Makes me really want to win this Dream Home!
Hi you two I've always loved the lyrics to that song. Rooftops or rimrocks—those lyrics are so great.
Thanks for sharing. lOL
Great link, Alicesoneysmom! The video affirms all Jack's selection of Stowe.
41 Days left for the Urban Oasis and 23 for the Blog Cabin. What are we going to do from October to January without a home to register for?
I think we need to talk with HGTV about Coop's idea of "Island Oasis" and "manufactured home" contests! We could have one given away every 2 months.
Omaha Lady, after the "Island Oasis" and "manufactured home" contests we could squeeze in
a tiny home contest! That should keep us busy until the DH contest begins.
http://www.google.com/images?rlz=1T4GWYE_enUS288U…
CUTE!
I'm bringing this here from page 1:
QUESTION / POLL: If I had my choice of the homes being built or given away right now- (DH 2011 Stowe, Urban Oasis, Blog Cabin 2010 and GH 2011) I think my choice would be the GH 2011 its a 7-8 hour drive from me, same region, a house small enough to live in and yet big enough for working from home and having company. I even downloaded the floor plan brochure. Anyone else have a favorite?
I'm leaning toward the GH2011 home, too, although I love the views from Urban Oasis and DH 2011. Stapleton is so close to my old neighborhood growing up that it would be fun to live there.
Hi OmahaLady At this point in my life—-I'd probably choose the Urban Oasis—simply because I've never lived in a condo on the 34th floor in New York City, very unique experience–and I love NY visits..
In reality if I won, I'd probably take the cash out—-and dream about the experience instead—-and then for the fun of it—I'd name drop now and then—that I owned a condo in NY at one time. Ha ha
I really really want the blog cabin, but i know it would be hard for me too keep. So i would like the urban oasis for the cash and then i could build my own dream home on land here. after i paid eveything off and buy what car i want and a truck for my husband. My dream home would have a master bedroom on the first floor. two bedroom and a bath on second floor. a warp around porch. etc.
OmahaLady, my preference is the Urban Oasis. It's a 4 hour drive or a 30 minute Southwest flight. It's perfect for those weekend or weekday get-aways. I'll continue entertaining at home.
Of the current sweepstakes homes this is the order of my favs:
1. Blog Cabin 2010. I like everything about the layout of the home, the property and the location. I would make this a vacation rental home and stay there when it wasn't rented. Eventually I would retire there.
2. DH 2011, Stowe. This is a true dream home, especially when it is decorated and totally furnished. I would love to spend Christmas in this house. It would be fun to have family and friends come for visits. Could also be a vacation rental.
3. GH 2011, Stapleton. Love the floor plan. Can't wait to see the finished product. Not sure about the area.
4. Urban Oasis. Could never live there with my husband and dog. Absolutely not enough room. Would love to be able to own it and visit there, but no way could I afford it. New York City is on my bucket list!
1. My first choice would be Stowe, but I doubt I can afford to keep it.
2. The blog Cabin I can afford. It is in a great spot, has land and works for me in retirement
3. I love the Urban Oasis but it has to be my 3rd choice because its a stretch to pay for it
4. Next years Green home is head and shoulders better than this years GH but means I move half way across Country, I'm not sure about doing that
When a question is good, it's worth repeating.
After giving it some more thought, I decided I would like to win the Dream Home, but I would have to sell it. However, I would use the proceeds to start a business that would create more American jobs. I wonder how many jobs I could create with 1 mil.
What a great question OmahaLady! Soney and I had to think about it and we came to the conclusion that the DH 2011 is our choice since both of us dream big. But in reality we couldn't keep it but we would take the money and fix up our little run down home. We love Seattle!
Thanks everyone for the input.
Let's see, September 3rd we got the HGTVPro interior build videos. Now the first day of autumn is September 23rd, so I'm guessing that Linda Woodrum and Jack T are gearing up for load-in day before long. Nobody wants to be unloading furniture in cold, rainy weather.
That means the interior will be well on its way as the crews hustle to meet the deadlines. So, MARY, even though I may be overseas soon, don't wait for my return to get all of those updated videos posted. I might even be able to catch a few HGTVPro videos between visits to ancient ruins and assorted natural wonders.
Envy you Coop I don't get back to Europe until next summer! Then its half work!
Hoping we get new photos before the week is out!
We're going to hold a warm place for you Coop, and will have lots of questions before and after your return. When are you making your trip to Turkey-sometime in October I bet.
Coop, will you be near Istanbul? Have an enjoyable trip. http://travel.nationalgeographic.com/travel/count…
Have they finally found Noah's ARK up on the mountain in Turkey yet?
Hey Stone, that is a remarkable question, and a goodey to open questions for Coopy before his trip. I hope you post this under DBCoop. I think he would appreciate your question, and your link to Naional Geographic. I haven't opened it yet, but wonder if it concurs with the group of Chinese and Turkish evangelical explorers that say that the wooden remains they have discovered on Mount Ararat in eastern Turkey are the remains of Noah's Ark. I read these findings about 24 years ago.
Here's to living the dream……..
It's almost fall here in Stowe. Which means the leaves will soon be changing colors. I might just wear my little camera out snapping pics. I will be decorating the house for the fall season. Starting to think about Christmas. But before that there is Thanksgiving. The family will all arrive a couple of days before to stay for the holidays. It is a lovely time for being together.
Dot, you are blessed and very lucky. CONGRATULATIONS Sounds so very warm and wonderful
and I am jealous!
OM Gosh!!! I can't believe it!! I think my first blogging name Cami, was just let out of Dream Home, Blogging moderation jail. I didn't even realize I was blogging with my forbidden name, until I saw my post on the side.. I am pinching myself to see if I'm dreaming. A million thank you, thank you, thank you's to whoever posted my bail, so I could be freed at last. I have never been suspended or jailed before, anywhere, this is a completely new feeling for me.
I feel like going out and buying 100 pairs of shoe-s just so I can wear one pair per hour for the next 4 days, right here on the Dream Home blog, just to celebrate my release. I wonder if I only wear mix matched pairs, if they will let my wearing of shoe-s slide just this time, since that wouldn't really be considered a whole pair of shoe-s. Oooops I think I hear the voice of the Dream Home blogging prosecutor saying "not so fast, you mismatched pair, shoe wearing lady". "they are still considered a whole pair of shoe-s".
Well I think we should let the bloggers decide. Hmph.
A special thanks goes out for the many blogger's testimonies, and letters of recommendation, that have been shared on my behalf, throughout my days in moderation incarceration. I hope to never be put in that cold dark place again.
Awesome! It's about time!!! I couldn't believe my eyes when I scrolled down and there was "Cami"—-that beautiful sunset, palm trees and all!!!! Welcome back. Hugs and LOL
WELCOME BACK, Cami! It's a pleasure to have you once again free and roaming the wilds of the Dream Home blog pages—with shoe-s or without!
Welcome back Cami. Glad you could shed your alter ego. So are you on probation or parole or have you been given a full presidential pardon?
Well Cami, your triumphant return just goes to prove once again that the HGTV blog is the home of the brave and the land of the free—that justice will prevail, and that every thoughtful blogger can avail themselves of the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of the Dream Home.
Welcome back CAMI!
Soney and I saw Cami and palm trees and sunset and we are going to Celebrate! We love you Cami! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3GwjfUFyY6M
Hooray, Cami's back! So good to see the original you again — you are truly one of a kind and should not be forced to take on an alter ego, even temporarily!
Welcome back. You would be a great loss to the bloggers if you weren't here. Really enjoy your interaction.
All's right in the blog world now, welcome back you're finally the real deal back again!
I absolutely love what they are doing with the GH 2011, I've got a two year old and we plan on more soon. The last few homes I've just been a little saddened by because they wouldn't fit in very well with out kid oriented lifestyle, but this one is GREAT!!! I'm looking forward to entering and dreaming about winning.
I did a little checking.. Abby G. from the Feedback Center on the Message Board, came through and notified Chad P for me, so they are the heroes of the week. Chad, thank you for releasing me from the clutches of my blog moderation inmates. They remembered me and were bringing up all kinds of misquotes, and misunderstandings, and they even blamed me for their life sentence, in moderation prison. FYI to those who remember…. They were called the anonymous ones (repeat offenders). The guards there didn't even let me give them a thumbs up or down and when I reported them, the guards just ignored me. Come to think of it, It might be because the guards were just cardboard cutouts, probably not their fault.
CONGRATULATIONS CAMI. A rose by any other name is still sweet, rosey, and full of life!
Thank you Abby G and especially to Chad P for allowing Cami to come out and play. She so
loves to play in the sunshine and wind and among her friends! I would never has known how
to go about helping – so as I have said, this is such an educational place to be. We learn all
kind of things that we never knew we didn't know! Now we are better prepared so thank you
guys again, and besides I am so happy to see the sunset and palm tree!!!!!
Thank you Sandy, I love chocolate roses the best, but they're all sweet. How's your vision been? Are you done now, or do you still have some procedures coming up?
That was heroic of Abby G and Chad P to come to your rescue, Cami. As the Fab Four would say, It's always nice to get by with a little help from our friends.
Being stuck in the dark and dangerous world of blog moderation limbo is not for the faint-hearted. I hope you don't suffer any lingering stress from your ordeal. Perhaps you'll be next in line for an hour on the Urban Oasis chaise lounge sharing your recent troubles with the bloggers' on-call therapist.
It seems like Ed said something that made me think I needed a therapist. He said "Glad you could shed your alter ego". He meant my 2cami. I got to thinking I have more alter egos in the first Cami then the one I had in 2cami. When I realized that, it was kind of depressing thinking I might need therapy. As I was thinking about all my different personalities, and all the good times we've had together on the blogs, I realized, who needs depression and therapy.
Ok that took 2 minutes to write and honestly that is all the therapy I can afford. The first two minutes are free of charge right.
The best therapy is a box of chocolates. Of course, winning the Dream Home wouldn't hurt any either.
By the way, what's wrong with alter egos? As long as they don't talk at the same time, which would drive me crazy
I can get so much more thinking done in a shorter amount of time. Two heads are better than one, metaphorically speaking.
As for depression, when one ego is down, the other one can talk yourself out of it! No need for therapy. Besides, it's free, it's fast, and to top it off, it's even fun! Like a three-sided coin (me, myself and I), it's a win-win-win situation.
Talking at the same time?? Does arguing with yourself count, 'cause I do that all the time. As a woman, even after one of us has won the argument, one of us changes her mind, and the other one feels vindicated, and validated, and we all know how important those feelings are for a woman, along with valuable, victorious and vivacious.
My alter ego whom often changes her mind, is usually distracted by a box of chocolates, no big surprise there, since she's the weak one.
Cami, I stil have no idea why HGTV gang would put you in a Moderation limbo!
I haven't seen a thing that you did that could be taken as 'wrong'. Glad that your blogging is working okay now. Did 'they' actually say what you did wrong?
If something is done wrong on here, THEY should warn the blogger and explain beforehand.
I think maybe one of my posts was sent to moderation and then I got lost and was put with the general moderation prison population. They didn't tell me why, and I don't care anymore. Once I signed on with another name (2cami) I was just glad to be able to talk on the Dream Home blog again.. You may have noticed I love to talk a lot. ; )
Cams, the folks you mentioned, are the heroes in shining armor. They work fearlessley to slay dungeon dragons, and have come to a damsel in distress's stress. I love what everyone said about having come back after your web challenge. So…..
This little ditty was inspired by Shakespeare
Fear not sweet cami, for you are fortified by the visage from the sun
Free yourself from the gallows and pine not
You shall side step to the galliards ( 5 step dance ending in a leap),
Lest you lose your gaskin ( britches)
Did they say anything about s h o e s ?
For those who may have missed this (it was on one of the HGTV or DIY giveaway sites, I don't remember which one), KraftMaid is sponsoring a chance to win a $50,000 kitchen makeover:
https://www.kraftmaidstyle.com/
You get to design your own inspiration board, name it and comment on why you made your choices, and enter it for a chance to win. If nothing else, creating the inspiration board was a lot of fun, and the chance of winning the prize is just icing on the cake!
What a co-ink-e-dink, I just did that last night. I didn't tell my wife, so when we win she'll be floored.
My other post isn't showing up.
CplusE….. The KraftMaid Kitchen Contest isn't letting me do all the things….like, picking the Inspiration words……. and I can't get my entry to ENTER! Is their a virus on here?
I found that you have to fill in every box of the board before you can go to the next section
There are so many stars on this DH blog that light up the sky so that people like Soney and me feel welcome. Thanks all you stars out there you know who you are! HGTV should be very proud that you all are here. Thanks again!
Alice, you do know you are one of those stars, right? We all love to read about the adventures you and Soney undertake — keep them coming, please!
This song is dedicated to you Cami! Soney and I love Hawaii too! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PA1xzuP0nkI&fe…
I just heard about the gas explosion in California. Hope everyone on here and their families are safe.
Seems like it's time for a new video of DH. Are they placing the fireplace between the gathering/family areas? At first I thought it was going on ourtside gathering wall—-but from video there doesn't seem to be enough room between the large windows. Actually it would be cool to see it from both areas.
Hi C&E got your reply I can hear you but I can't find you or see where you are so I am going to reply here. Thanks so much for the compliment but Soney and my toes might twinkle a little bit but you are truly a star. We love your new picture. The Seattle Police ride downtown on horses and I think of you when I see them. So graceful looking. How is Diamond doing? Soney changed his name to Marley need I say more. Those eyes of his get me every time. You did a great job in guessing the Green Home location. Talk to you soon.
Hi Alice! Well, I replied to your previous post about stars on the blog and it is showing up on the side bar but not under your post! I'm glad you got my reply anyway! We all have different talents on these blogs and your ability to transport us to various locations through music is quite special! Diamond and I have an ongoing battle right now about whether or not she is well enough to resume normal activity — she thinks she is and the vets and I think she is not! So we compromise — I let her out for periodic bursts of activity and then she has to go back in her crate or pen to rest for a while. She really was going stir crazy from lack of exercise and she does need to strengthen that leg, so I just watch her carefully to make sure she isn't overdoing it. Just like Soney, Diamond is feeling well enough to get into trouble now! Be sure to check out the new time-lapse photos — see you on the new thread!
I'm wondering what great "surprise" HGTV is conjuring up for us in the next, say 30 days or so, after the UO and BC sweeps are finished. They seem to be having way too much fun lately creating zooish amounts of blogs and sweeps for our entertainment. I'm partial, but think West, think West, it's our turn, think West.
I am already falling in love with this home! Can't wait to see more! Thanks, HGTV!
house looks really unique and fun…too bad there is a busy street easily seen and heard through the trees. I was surprised when I saw the video about flow and heard the traffic outside.
There may be a street nearby but it may not even be noticed when you are admiring the gorgeous foliage that surrounds the rest of the home. It's also refreshing to know that you are not secluded somewhere on a mountain. To me it shows that you will be able to easily travel locally and still have incredible views when you are home. PLUS I do remember from the videos the builders explaining the thickness of the wall's structure. Not only will these sturdy walls help with insulation, but I bet they will also help block out noises as well.
i am in love with this home. loving all the different views of the exterior. can't wait till is't finished.
The floor to ceiling windows in the upper level of this home are spectacular!! What a view!
I just finished watching the videos for the DH. The more I watch and see the more I catch my breath. I keep visualizing how great it would be to walk that floor plan and have those views. It was interesting to see how the developers tackled the steep grade issue with the foundation. A few glimpses of the sketches with landscaping have me really dying to see the finished product!
This home is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! After watching all the recent videos I fell in love even more. I love the idea of bringing nature right into the home and incorporating it to the home's structure and design, absolutely BRILLIANT! I am really impressed with the passion and dedication the builders and crew have for making this home beautiful, structurally secure, and cost-effective. Thank you HGTV for creating an opportunity for me to win this gorgeous home for me and my big family.
My family and I will enjoy the view of the slopes from our new dining table (after we win)
!!!!
I love the HOME!! If we won, it would be our home and a bed and breakfast!! We would have a bedroom put above the car barn for our kids and live and work where we live!!! Would be a dream come true!!!
This is a spectacular home and we sooo need to win it!!! The decor is wonderful and the setting rocks too!!
Our house was built in the '60's and (though we've invested a lot of repairs in it over the past 20 years) we would love to start fresh in a new home; one to be our refuge until retirement. Do all the Dream Homes have queen or double beds? We were wondering why the master suite doesn't feature a king sized. If we won, that tiny issue would be dwarfed by our total amazement (not to mention EXCITEMENT!!!)
