On the Eve of the Virtual Tour Launch
Are you excited? Ready to dive into the virtual tour and click through room pics? Our online virtual tour of HGTV Dream Home 2011 launches on Monday at about 9 a.m. EST or so. Wrap a string around your finger, mark your calendar and set the alarm, so you don’t forget to pop by on December 20 to join in the excitement.
In the meantine, I want to alert you to some interesting information being shared on our Green: Home blog. HGTV Green Home 2011 is taking shape and our friends at HGTVPro.com recently launched an interactive home tool that breaks down the home’s best eco-friendly details. Take a peek, then post your comments.

I guess it's just me but I dislike the dorm room and dorm bathroom. I liked last years house so much better.
It isn't just you…there will be more unfavorable feedback to come in future weeks. This is a feature that will be hard to change without major remodeling, if the new owner does not like this configuration and use of space.
I admit I have not watched this years home going up so I am a bit confused. Is this a lodge? I am not understanding the dorm room and dorm bath.
I loved everything about the dream home except 2 things – (1) I am not a fan of old looking doors like the had in the master bedroom and (2) as New Mexico had 3 patio's and 3 outdoor fireplaces – I thought this one would at least have as many, seeing it is designed for more people at one time
there were so many hidden gems in the house like the wireless steroe throughout the house and out on the deck and the hidden tv's in both the bedroom and the kitchen. the layout of the house was incredible and it is easy to picture yourself there, and being a place that you would want to go home to. the view from the windows was absolutely amazing, from every room in the house.
Merry Christmas mishi and all the best to you for this coming year. Bless, Peace!!
Does anyone know the address for the home? I'm headed up to Stowe in March and would love to do a drive by. Also, has anyone noticed there is no "public" bathroom in the house. Like in a hallway or anything. Or am I missing something?
The address is 123 Ski Hill Ln, and it's right up the hill from the Spruce Mountain Lodge. There is a powder room between the entry and the mudroom — pictures of it are on the entry tour — #11-14 I think.
Thank you for the info! Can't wait to check it out! I'll have to look into that bathroom too….
Yes, you are missing something. It's in the entry — the photos are on the entry hall tour.
This house would be a dream come true. I’d love to share this home with my rather large family, four brothers & three sisters,my mother, 14 grandchilderen and 7 great I have always wanted a lodge type home with a large kitchen I love to cook. I am sure they would come visit often. I just noticed the dream doggie house that is so cool I think my dogs would love it.
home tour info here http://www.hgtv.com/dream_home/hgtv-dream-home-20… . there is a powder room in the hall.
COUNTDOWN SAYS 12 Days —- 00:05:04
I'm newly logged in, so I don't know if my questions have already been asked and answered.
First off, does anyone know what the annual property taxes are on this home? Any estimates on average utility bills? What is the monthly association fee? I know there is some fee associated with the nearby hotel where the lucky home winner can use their facilities. Does the neighborhood get city services such as plowing the roads? Guess I'm just wondering what minimal income would be needed to afford living in the dream home.
Any answers?
Alright. The countdown is near. Soon the home will be mine. If only dreams really do come true. Good Luck to everyone that came on here each and everyday and registered for this lovely home. Congrats to whomever wins this most spectacular home. And remember you have a NEW friend in me, I will be glad to come and fill up those empty rooms. You would never even know I was there…….
Do we know the exact date yet of when they will announce the winner of the dream home? I have entered every day on hgtv.com and frontdoor.com. It would be a dream come true for my family to all be together for the holidays in that beautiful home. My family can ski all day and I can cook up the most delicious meals for everyone to enjoy. I sure hope you pick me!
Mixed Emotions day…. I have had so much fun everyday looking forward to signing in here at HGTV and entering to win the HGTV Dream Home and then browsing around at all the accessories in the home and blogging with everyone. However, It is also an exciting day as well, the count down has ended and now some very lucky person is going to be handed keys to one of the most spectacular Dream Homes EVER!. Good luck to everyone! Remember I can and will be a friend for life to the lucky winner, I make great hot cocoa and brownies.
Since today is the last day to enter to win, I wanted to thank HGTV, the designers and builders and everyone who had a part in the 2011 Dream Home. You gave me a chance to win a house that most of us could only dream of.
Good luck to all who entered!
