On the Eve of the Virtual Tour Launch
Are you excited? Ready to dive into the virtual tour and click through room pics? Our online virtual tour of HGTV Dream Home 2011 launches on Monday at about 9 a.m. EST or so. Wrap a string around your finger, mark your calendar and set the alarm, so you don’t forget to pop by on December 20 to join in the excitement.
In the meantine, I want to alert you to some interesting information being shared on our Green: Home blog. HGTV Green Home 2011 is taking shape and our friends at HGTVPro.com recently launched an interactive home tool that breaks down the home’s best eco-friendly details. Take a peek, then post your comments.

Can't wait to see photos of my very own new home! Thank you HGTV! Merry Christmas everyone.
You bet we're ready to dive into the virtual tour! I am supposed to go on a trail ride that day, weather permitting, so I may not get to it immediately, but the first thing I'll do when I get back is check out the Stowe DH tour — I can't wait!
Hi CplueE,just getting to your post. How wonderful your trail ride sounded days before Christmas!!!! I saw a peek of your beautiful tree, and your very precious dog that looks like a collie. Have lots of fun and Merry healthy Happy joyous Christmas!!!
Thanks, Janzee! That picture is from the time we lived in Colorado, and the dog is our husky named Dasher (named after Santa's reindeer, of course, but also to go with our old Dalamtian's name of Dot — Dot and Dash!).
Love that picture! Is it the top of the dining table off of the Kitchen area?
All of those candleholders are beautiful ! ! ! ! They look like they are made from ice!
So fitting! Beautiful home!!
Can hardly wait to see more on the 20th.!!
Monday at about 9 a.m. EST
I was thinking the same and it looks like it is over looking the back yard. I think I may see a deck… Can't wait til Monday.
Hey Stones, did you take in the lunar eclipse or was your neck of the woods foggy and rainy? We are all missing you these days, where you be?
Hi Stone just came on today to wish you the Merriest Christmas to a person who is full of surprises incredible stories, love for humanity, caring nature, kindness, vim and vigor, Americana, joys, and who is a wonderous all around person. This blog is what it is today because of your support. I pray for and wish you the best of everything for 2011, including a possible win from HGTV. How bout the kitenkaboodle in Stowe. Love Janzee
When the reveal finally arrives….. will Jack ski up to the 2011 Dream Home and show us where to put our skies…….. where to hang our jackets so the radiant floor heating will warm them…… etc. etc. etc. ?
So hard to wait for this HGTV "Christmas Present to us" video!
It will be like opening an (much awaited for) early Christmas present! ! ! ! ! ! ! SO COOL!!!!
(Not a 90 second tour, please! We want to relish every second and hang on each word.)
(EVERYONE… time to get your video recorder ready.)
HgtvPro videos……………. Amazing!
http://www.hgtvpro.com/hpro/pac_ctnt/text/0,2595,…
I had to laugh, when you said that Jack "will ski up to the 2011 DH". He's in pretty good shape, I'll bet he could. Pretty neat to finally see all of the rooms, and I think Gail did a super job of taking us through the home. I loved her tour!!!!
CplusE found a cocktail on SuperFan Gail's facebook page…….
wish I had one here for the reveal on the 20th. LOL Sounds yummy!
CplusE said:
" ……….. Gail provided this link to a yummy Vermont-inspired cocktail on her facebook page (BTW, Gail, I would have commented there but I am not on Facebook!): http://liquor.com/cocktails/liberation-libation/
This would actually be quite tasty for Christmas as well — we may just have to try it then! "
(That picture looks inviting.)
"Liberation Libation"
INGREDIENTS:
Cinnamon
Sugar
2 oz Vermont Gold Vodka
0.5 oz Maple syrup
1.5 oz Sparkling apple cider (non-alcoholic)
PREPARATION:
Combine equal parts cinnamon and sugar on a shallow plate and use to coat the rim of a cocktail glass. Add the vodka and maple syrup to a mixing glass and fill with ice. Stir, and strain into the prepared glass. Top with the cider.
Where is our fellow blogger cheesecakelover?
Could use some cheesecake snacks with this. LOL
Any recipes for us cheesecakelover?
Maybe Janzee has one!!!!!
I am here, I am here! Something tells me a carmelized maple glazed topping with some pecans on top would be perfect
You are making my mouth water Debra G. !!!
LOL!! What can I say, I LOVE cake! Any and every kind of cake!
Maybe a greenish pistachio nut treat?
or a layered pistachio cheesecake?
I love pistachio nuts.
How about this recipe for Vermont cranberry spread on crackers or better yet gingersnaps as an hors d'oeuvre with Gail's cocktail suggestion?
http://www.appetizersrecipe.net/cold-appetizers/v…
Sounds very good CplusE! I would just add a piece of that very thin fried up bacon to my cracker with this yummy cranberry spread.
I usually make those small BarBQ meatballs.
And blogger TaniaGail made one at home and posted its pix on here. Hope it was tastey!
Hope they show the "Vermont Doggie Dream Home" too.
You can get a glimpse of part of the Doggie DH by pausing this video link (provided previously by Deerspring) at minute 1:51. The reporter is standing in the master bedroom and in the right lower corner (her left) the Doggie DH can be seen next to the chair. Guess Linda decided it was just too cold to make the doggie sleep outdoors!
http://www.wcax.com/global/video.asp?clipId=53617…
If they do, I hope Fiddo will have heated floors, too!
Hi Debra G, Merry Christmas and joy to you and yours. I'll bet you are building snow angels today and maybe putting a crown on the snowwoman for good measure. I wish all the best for you for this coming season, and wanted to let you know that you presence, support, love for the blog, great stories, humor, loveliness, has made this blog great. Good luck with all your endeavors.
I am getting so excited for the launch! Next week is going to be so busy with family and Christmas, but I am going to try and check in… How about it Mary, a sneak peek before the 20th??? Pretty please???
The photo is gorgeous—-I take it we're all invited to gather 'round—-and the first delectible item on the menu will be……?
This Vermont HGTV Dream Home kitchen is set up great!
Perfect for setting up for a TV cooking show! Plenty room for a camera crew.
If the winner wanted to sell…… many could use this kitchen as a cooking studio!
GREAT!!
I love that glass door refrigerator! ULTRA COOL!!
Looks like some glass-door lower cupboards facing the dining table too.
Or maybe they are doors to a glass front cooler for soft drinks and wine. http://mes1.wellborn.com/cms/images/stories/users…
Is there a sliding ladder in this kitchen? If not, I could add one.
The Food Network is wonderful!
But I remember The Frugal Gourmet…. Jeff Smith too!
http://www. food.com/cookbook/famous-chefs-jeff-smith-the-frugal-gourmet-recipes-34702
Didn't he film out of his home!
http://www.amazon.com/Frugal-Gourmet-Our-Immigran…
I've got to get this Frugal Gourmet book!
"The Frugal Gourmet on Our Immigrant Ancestors: Recipes You Should Have Gotten from Your Grandmother"
I don't see my other post, so I will repeat…..
Didn't Jeff Smith (the Frugal Gourmet) film out of his home?
The Frugal Gourmet started cooking in Tacoma, WA and had a PBS cooking show out of Chicago. Later he returned to Seattle and from what I remember he did film some of his shows out of his condo in the Pike Place Market. You would see him doing his shopping at the market and the last time I saw him he was in a wheel chair doing his shopping. This explains his life. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeff_Smith_(TV_perso…
This Vermont HGTV Dream Home bunkroom is set up great!
For an income idea…….. someone could film videos in there
for a series on …….. "BUNKBED DORM STORYTIME" .
* Grandparents could tell interesting stories to kids
* Kids could take turns telling their own stories
* Teens could tell end of the busy day…… fun snow etc. stories
* Maybe even a bridal party story time that has the Bride telling about how she and the groom met up at STOWE, Vermont!
* Place to put on skits!
* ETC.
(I can imagine a wonderful video going along with one of the young kids' story of when Grandpa showed them how to catch fireflies in glass jars. Giggles included free.)
Sounds like fun to me!!
Wasn't Robin Williams in a story-telling scene in "Mrs. Doubtfire" movie?
Yes—he was so great in that movie.
This is way cool!!!!!
You are sooooo creative and inventive Stone. I love love your comments about a grandpop sharing firefly stories with his children. I see you as ageless RJMstone, and you sound like just the person to tell any number of asundry stories. I would love to hear the bride and groom tell their story.
And, along with a hearty holiday hello to our online editor MARY, who's at our side here at HGTV.com through thick and thin to entertain us, and yes, at times, even lead us astray with her Dream Home location clues, I didn't want to forget posting congratulations to the seven Scripps Networks leaders who made CableFAX The Magazine's December issue annual listing of 100 of the industry's most powerful players: Lynne Costantini, Burton Jablin, Brooke Johnson, John Lansing, Ken Lowe, Laureen Ong, and Jim Samples. We all benefit immensely from their work and contributions to the industry. Cheers to one and all!
Now, off I go to follow MARY's signs pointing to the Green Home Blog and beyond….
Thanks for telling us DBCoop!
HAPPY HOLIDAY WISHES TO:

KUDDOS!!!
(HOPING MORE AND MORE VIEWERS WILL GET YOUR WONDERFUL CHANNELS ON THEIR TVs EACH YEAR.)
Hiya Coop, Merry Happy Joyous Holidays to you to. How fantastic that you have found and listed the Scipps Network stars and offered congratulations. Do you know that you are a star our DBCoop.
Yes, there some great pictures.

DBCoop, thanks for reminding us again about HgtvPro.com website too.
Can stop and start this blog video over there to glimpse views of the Stowe Dream Home
Blueprints and floorplans.
Flow and framing…… http://blog.hgtvpro.com/dream-home/2010/08/13/flo…
COOL!! Stop the video ALOT to get glimpses of the blueprints and floorplans!!!!!
Stop and start….. stop and start….. be fast!
Another cool video.
A Solid Foundation……. http://blog.hgtvpro.com/dream-home/2010/08/05/a-s…
Whenever I watch Paul in the first foundation video, I get the sense always about the awe he experienced when he designed this home.
Ahh, I see the candles are lit, the hostess must be pouring the wine, and setting out the Vermont cheeseplate. Let's snuggle close to the virtual fireplace, and wait for the real fun to begin.
On Monday the dream will take a more realistic shape. The doors will be thrown open, and bloggers from all over the country will rush in for the first of many longing looks at DH2011.
By the time the home is given away, most of us will have memorized every nook, and cranny ,and worn a virtual path in the floors.
All I can say is "Let the Magic begin, we're more than ready, afterall tis the season for Magic"
AnneEliseSouth
All that they showed of your post was this on the side of the page…….
"Ahh, I see the candles are lit, the hostess must be pouring the wine, and setting out the Vermont ch… "
I thought for sure you were going to say…. "chicken pot pie"!
Oh my…… am I hungry or what?? LOL
(I was drooling.)
Chicken pot pie sounds good too! In such a grand setting as the DH, even a PBJ sandwich would be grand!
Soney has his chef outfit on and I have my retro apron on with a matching chef hat. We will be in charge of the PBJ sandwiches. How fun is this!
Hello doll, this is what AnneEliseSouth said:Ahh, I see the candles are lit, the hostess must be pouring the wine, and setting out the Vermont cheeseplate. Let's snuggle close to the virtual fireplace, and wait for the real fun to begin.

All I can say is "Let the Magic begin, we're more than ready, afterall tis the season for Magic"
I'll second those dreamy sentiments…and I just have to add, along with the Vermont cheese plate, could we include my new and very favorite holiday dessert — pumpkin cheesecake pie with pecan crumb topping. It is absolutely to drool for, and something to definitely put on your food "bucket" list! I'm sure I'm all the better for having "sampled" a couple of slices already!
Let's turn the event into a virtual wine and ——– party, let's all fill in the blanks, bring our favorite snack to the table, and enjoy.
Your pie sounds delicious, put a small slice on my plate, and I'll try a little of RJM's chicken pot pie. We'll have a virtual tasteathon at the Stowe Homestead!
Maybe we could get Ed to bring some baked goodies, if he can sneak them away from the kiddles.
Cami might spare a few Lindt truffles. Any one else care to join us? Drooling encouraged, but bring your own bib!
I hope that Cami can break away from her college studies for a little party! Of course, even then, with the stress of all that work, she may be going through those Lindt truffles at a dizzying pace, with only a few remaining for bloggers to divide up among themselves….
As for Santa this year — I hope he'll give me a chance to tell my side of the story!
My weakness is pasta, and this is traditional for Christmas Eve, so I will bring this:
http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/wolfgang-puck/…
So simple to make and so delicious!
You always have us ogling the best desserts, and best places to have these goodies. I was at the Hollywood Cheese Cake factory for a birthday celebration, and I asked the waitor for a piece, but I think the Christmas elves got to the best pieces ahead of me. Best place scenario to have your pie and eat it too- right in the comfort and cozy of your living room decorated for the holidays with songs and merriment at the DH VERMONT 2011
Your words are magic AnneEliseSouth, you always prepare and set the table for us for the moment when another chapter of the fairy tale DH house is opened in Stowe Vermont.
Dearest AnneEliseSouth, I just wanted to stop by to wish you a Merrry Christmas and let you know how loved you are, and how much I enjoy your amazing and fine posts-each one of them saveable. Good luck this season with all of your endeavors. Love Janzee
Thank you Janzee. You are always so supportive, and positive in your posts, I, like many others, enjoy your input, and creativity. Best Wishes for a wonderous Year.
Member this, when we were kids we used to say, "whatever you say is like glue, and it bounces back to you". Ya took the words right out of my mouth, and that's how I feel about your posts and this group. Thank you humbly for the Best Wishes for a wonderous Year comment. This is the best anyone could wish for someone. Love
More Dream Home videos!!
http://www.hgtvpro.com/hpro/pac_ctnt/text/0,2595,…
COOL…. the remote controlled shades have wooden valances that look like beams!
Shows the tiling.
Look at the video with the Barn door.
What is that huge thing showing in the dining room window or is it a reflection of something outside??????
Amazing videos!!!!
THE ONE…… "Fisheye Tour – Main Level"…….
shows something odd on the Master Bedroom Balcony
at time marker 0.51 !
Might just be a way of loading in the big boxes or
SOMETHING else??
What do you think?
THE ONE…… "Fine Mountain Homebuilding" …..
What's going on outside by the Master Bedroom Balcony?
They have it covered up. (Time marker 0.37-0.39)
Landscaping?….. looks like many boulders and some different levels.
And at time marker 1.50 I caught a glimpse of an attic opening in the Master Bedroom closet.
THE ONE…… "Fisheye Tour – Lower Level"……
Looking out of the big Ski Dorm window there is a curious looking large dark object up on the land to the right. Wonder what the plans were for that area?
(Its at the end, at time marker 0.50)
Wonder how close the Dream Home is to a chairlift?
RJMStone, this is great! I'm not sure what "the thing" is but I like everything I can see in the
videos. The remote control shades, the tile materials, the doors, and the solid beam construction
reflect HGTV's precision in building a Dream Home. I think Mary has given us a much
appreciated pre-reveal gift! I'll be viewing the videos again! It's dusk and I have to close
each and every shade and curtain in my house. In the DH, you would simply touch a screen!!
Yes, I love that idea of the touch screen!
Thanks for posting these articles.

I know, I don't know what that strange white square frame "thing" is.
Where are you Stoney? I am greatly missing the button nose, and attempt at a denim cowboy hat along with the very intelligent comments that range from innocent to wildly political.
DBCoop mentioned the HGTV Green Home!
Yep….. don't forget that wonderful dreamy Home !
Many Blogs over there……………….

I will have to wait til I get home from work on the 20th! I was hoping to take the tour then go to work and dream all day! Best laid plans and all that!
Can't wait!
All is quiet, all is calm on the blogs tonight——-so I'll quietly say merry christmas.
Merry Christmas, MKS:-)!!!!
! Oh ! I think we are more than ready we have been so ready for months now, and on Monday there will be no school and I don't have to go to work so I am spending my day glued to the computer screen with a big cup of coffee and comfy slippers hurray, I have been planning this day for months now, I get goose bumps just thinking about it
Hi our pixelcho69, thanks for the delightful Christmas and good cheer, and New Year greeting and good good wishes. Right back atcha kid– you sound wonderful. Great photo, TaniaGail! How was the cocktail?
Way too good, CplusE, I highly recommend it
I like the beautiful dining room candle setting. It's glamorous amongst the rustic surroundings and I like that. I love feminine mixed with masculine. It brings something for the whole family.
From what I've seen of the home so far I absolutely love it. I love the design and flow of the home , I love the colors and decor and the art work. The white sculpture in the annex area, for me, brings to mind snow blowing in the wind of a Vermont snow storm. Can't wait for the online tour and pictures.
I was going to take my time enjoying the virtual tour on the twentieth. Enjoy a football game. And then I was going to watch the lunar eclipse. Since our Oregon weather is not supposed to co-operate for the eclipse, I guess I will do some Xmas baking.
Oh, Ed, we women love men who bake!!! Tell your wife how lucky we all said she was. What's on your baking list? With all your children you probably have to hide the goodies so they'll last until Christmas.
Nothing very special Anne, Toll House Cookies, peanu butter cookies with white chocolate chips, chocolate and mint chip cookies, chocolate fudge, peanut butter fudge and maybe a carrot cake. I have some pies left over from Thanksgiving. And yes I do hide at least half of the goodies.
As usual, tempermental Oregon weather will have a mind of it's own—-and yes, we want to know —–what's on your baking list? Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Thank you and a Merry Christmas to you and yours!
There is a group that plays the pan flute at the Westlake Center in Seattle. This is what they sound like. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1lTXhXTasA
This is beautiful—-thanks for sharing.
There is music playing everywhere here in beautiful Seattle this time of year. Thanks MeKhazSimi. Thought we would send this your way this is fun to watch. Reminds me of when I was working and in charge of all the paper jams. This is what I felt like doing! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6U6kXiqxhDA&fe…
Hi Alice and Soney, This is priceless!!!!! I'm sure you were thrilled to move on from that task. ha
A QUESTION FOR ALL… If you win the 2011 DREAM HOME. What would you do? TAKE THE HOUSE OR TAKE THE MONEY? AND WHY.o.0
Yes.
Because.
Really, Its probably best to study the available alternatives at the time to decide… The "value" is listed as much higher than the cash option, so it may be better financially to take it and sell, if one is considering just taking the immediate cash option. It would be wonderful to leverage career options, move in and enjoy.
This is a really hard question to answer. I think if I won I would enjoy the fun and excitment that all the winners talk about. Then when reality sets in I would have to choose the best option for me and my family. This is truly a beautiful Dream Home and feel so much a part of it. Finding this blog on the flower clue and being able to see it being built from the ground up how great is that! The odds of winning are pretty high I just think I will keep on dreaming.
A while back Cami asked about the most eco-friendly option for a Christmas tree. I just discovered these two articles that cover the pros and cons:
http://www.care2.com/greenliving/real-vs-fake-chr…
http://www.care2.com/greenliving/a-truly-eco-frie…
Their conclusions? The most eco-friendly options are home-made feather trees, alternative "trees" made of wood or metal for hanging ornaments, or (the best yet in my opinion!) renting a live Christmas tree!
Renting a live Christmas tree sounds plausible, but what's in the fine print? Are there excess mileage charges? Cost for normal wear and tear? Deductibles to pay for dents and dings? Late return fees?
Do they offer convenient door-to-door delivery? Flood, fire, or earthquake insurance? Deposit requirements, layaway options, rent-to-own contracts?
It could get complicated!
I can't believe they are Renting live trees in Portland, Oregon. I read your link articles and then checked it out. Sure thing —here's the link to The Living Christmas Tree Co. http://www.livingchristmastrees.org/
I like the idea that they are donating the trees to school grounds and various places afterwards. Interesting concept, this is one I've never heard of before. Thanks for sharing
Well after our sleigh was all loaded down with luggage, we didn't have any room left to take our lil' fiber optic tree, so we may be without a Christmas tree this year…. Unless the mall will let us celebrate our Christmas under one of the their many massive trees they have scattered about.__ If you hear about a strange American family using the huge Canadian mall's Chirstmas tree as their own, you'll know it's us. Or to avoid bringing shame to Americans everywhere, we may just buy a small Christmas tree and leave it there. Yep that might be a better option.
You've seen this youtube before, but this trip reminded how friendly the Canadians are. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sekLEG8xsOs&fe…
Three deer were nearly too friendly on our way up here…. Thankfully my husband just installed new brakes on the car. The deer were just as surprised as I was, when I slammed on the brakes and came within inches of their parade across the road.
Oh my word, Cami, thank goodness for "brakes, any brakes!" RE:video: I can't believe they were standing in the middle of the highway making that video! As for the Christmas tree—-can't wait to hear your decision on that one—–and we hope we get a full report of "Christmas on the road"—-when you return. Seriously—–very Merry Christmas to you and your family. LOL
While the Stowe Dream Home is second to none, if you can't wait until 2011 to win the DH, you might consider this attractive Stowe, VT home: http://www.frontdoor.com/listing/2725-3yd-103053773/3090... It's got plenty of room for the whole family, and visitors too!
It's tempting, but I'm going to have to remain anxiously awaiting on the sidelines until I see what happens with the Dream Home Sweepstakes in 2011. Then there's that online reveal coming in just a matter of days. After that, nothing else may do….
If I owned Stone Hollow—–I would become a hermit and never leave—–this is beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Good Saturday Morning everyone! how is your stomach this morning? well mine is terrible from all the anxiety that's building up, we still have one more day so I will try to stay calm. I'm sure I can find something around my house to keep me busy until then.
Judging by this picture must be very beautiful.
Welcom back Vesna. We haven't seen you in awhile.
I hope that MARY has a festive yet not too stressful holiday weekend, because come Monday the 20th, she's got some serious work to do — as in gifting us with the highly anticipated Stowe Dream Home reveal videos. We going to take our time unwrapping every detail of this fabulous mountain lodge! Why, it may keep us busy all the way until Christmas Eve.
Although I have a marathon of events and parties to attend this Saturday and Sunday, I'm going to be dressed (well, more or less) and ready for the unveiling on Monday morning. I hope I'll have the stamina to get through all of those great Dream Home details before I wind down for the day and collapse into my recliner, exhausted but happy.
How sweet it will be to see the magic unfold!
Hi DBCoop !
Have a happy party weekend ! 'Tis the season !
I must admit that after feasting a little too heartily at Thanksgiving, the Christmas Party Season snuck up on me very quickly.
Time to wear the little black dress…but it fits a little TOO snugly !
What to do ???
I didn't want to dash out and buy killer underfoodles to hold in the extra
( temporary!!) bulges…so…Emergency Plan" A" goes into action:
I wore my swimsuit under the little black dress. It worked like magic, and it was comfy ! Thank goodness for lycra and spandex swimsuits. Transforms that extra slice of pie, and the baked brie with raspberry jam, not to mention the candied pecans… to svelte and slinky :O)
So, ladies, in a pinch….I recommend the swimsuit tip, it really works :O)
Merry, merry everybloggie !
HoHoHo
GoldieLocksBear
XOX
The swimsuit sounds like a very workable solution, GoldieLocksBear, but it seems that it would be a little too gender specific for me to benefit from it.
Hi DBCoop,
Yup, Board Shorts just ain't gonna do it for the guys. Sorry fellas, you'll just have to:
a. Skip the pie
b. Take up mountain biking
c. Bite the bullet and wear the swimsuit :O)
( No one's gonna know ~ unless you get knocked down by a number 7 bus on the way home from the party :O) …and I'm sure those emergency room docs have seen everything…twice :O)
HO Ho Ho

And the excitement builds. One more day!!! Can't wait.
My post disappeared—-obviously an HGTV Santa sitting in the office waiting for Monday morning—or something like that—–so one more time——hooray we have ONLY ONE MORE DAY to scratch off the calendar——and then we get to see the magical DH 2011 unfold before our very eyes. Can't wait. Hope everone has a nice evening.
What better way to let the "grand opening" shine than with sparkling candles and light. Our eyes are twinkling Mary with anxious child-like wonder and expectation of what's behind the front door of the DH Stowe Vermont 2011. It's more than curiousity now, as we've all grown to love Stowe, the people, builders, folks at HGTV involved in bringing us this wonderful opportunity. In the beginning… we got clued in, with your monumental history lessons, thoughts about Cartier, up or downstream, A cow that must have layed more than the golden egg, a rattle snake that could shake to salsa, a spaceship, love letters, Einstein's theory of relativity, and formica? Were did this all lead us as some folks had a premonition like "as the crow flies" DH location thought bubble. We were stoweked when we found Stowe, or Stowe found us. watched the good earth being tilled and toiled, a foundation laid, and heard the builders fascination with having a home in partnership with nature. Let's open those doors, Merry Christmas friends, and let the good times roll.
Sounds great…… Merry Christmas and let the Good Times roll!!
Can hardly wait to see all the 2011 Dream Home rooms and secrets revealed!!
Its been closed and alone lone enough! CplusE found a great maple cocktail to celebrate the show with. TaniaGail even made it at home and posted a picture of it on here. Looks yummy!!
Cheers to all the HGTV bloggers

Judging posted picture the home must be beautiful. I wish it will become mine.
Since I've got such a busy day tomorrow, Sunday, the time will fly by, and before I know it, I'll be waking up Monday morning (hopefully) to the Dream Home online reveal. How awesome is that!
I also have a strong feeling that after several wild days of non-stop commentary on the blogs about the magic of this mountain lodge that there'll be an unusual bear story hitting these pages. Watch your porridge, 'cause it's around this time of year that bowls of the stuff mysteriously disappear.

to the winner a toast so fine.
Good morning everybloggie!
If you haven't yet watched the HGTV " Inside Scoop" series of videos ~ do take a peek at them. They are huge fun! Linda and Jack are wonderful, such lively interaction between them, and hilarious blasts from the past HGTV Dream Homes ! Jack's " Mud Boots" picture was a total hoot ! I hope Linda and Jack do more of these videos together :O) I've watched the evolution of the Dream Homes since the get go, and it never ceases to amaze me just how innovative the Design Team are, creating so many different features and pulling all the ideas together ~ POW !
Thank goodness Linda got her way with the red windows in the Camden Dream Home ! And speaking of red…it is SO the color of the moment ! I'm continuing to vote for the red saucepans for the Dream Home 2011 kitchen :O)
Merry Christmas !

My kind of detail with these tall, simple, drip catching candle stick holders clustered as they are.
There goes the poetry. oyu can't hide it, PFG you are all lit up just like those bright beautiful lights.
2011 Dream Home's big reveal is just like a feast

On time & on target with the completion of the big beast
We get to see what's been mastered in the Northeast
Yes sirreee just as I suspected. I scrolled down a little, and voila here is the tip of the tip beginning of what could be in store for this blog. Pay attention everyone every one of these poems is a gem.
All I want for Christmas………………………..Oh Santa, Dear Santa, please bring me a Dream Home in Stowe. God bless Border patrol agent Brian Terry (my nephew) for giving his heart and soul to protect our country.
Ok, how big is this home? HGTV says its 3000, one of the videos says its 3200, and the video on a local news website says 3400??? My thought is that the garage has been converted into more of a living space rather than a garage which I saw on an episode of Deserving Design… I know there is a room above the garage but instead of including just that they included the entire garage.
Hmm, shades of Pinocchio going on with the Dream Home square footage. It just keeps growing…and where it will stop, nobody knows!
Quiet anticipation near snow-covered hills, Trees in attention, HGTV Dream Home soon to reveal. Stowe is jubilant, to welcome all here, So open your arms! Almost Monday, my Dear! Beverly
'Twill be nights before Christmas and high overhead
The moon will turn brown or maybe deep red
The Earth and the sun with celestial scripts
Will conspire to make a lunar eclipse.
(Not my verse, by the way. This was a news headline.) Weather and clear skies on Monday night permitting over North America and the West Coast, that is. Unfortunately, it appears that much of California will be socked in by heavy cloud cover and rain.
I guess I'll spend my time Monday viewing and reviewing the Dream Home online reveal instead. After all, it's a phenomenon that only happens once a year, and I wouldn't miss a second of it.
The lunar eclipse would be interesting to see! Would be great if I get to see the meteor shower too.

Okay, help me out, bloggers. I'm really in a bind. On the Dream Home main page, MARY has placed a quick poll asking us to vote for our favorite Dream Home from the past 5 years, 2006-2010. I just can't make a "quick" decision on such a monumental task!
Here's my thinking on the subject.
Sonoma in first place, the whole Ledson development is extremely nice in variety of home styles and what a wonderful location.
Islamorada in second place though the rest of the development wasn't finished it was adjacent to a nice community park and of course warm South Florida weather in winter is always a plus.
Third place to Lake Lure, despite local water issues and lack of development the general design and area are interesting to me.
Fourth place to Sandia Park, mostly because the sting of not winning is too fresh.
Winter Park comes in last because of this year's skiers paradise is even more awesome and awaiting a winner…
Since we are voting on locations and not the home, I will have to go with the Sonoma location first and the Islamorada location second. I have com to appreciate the warmer locations in my older years! ^_^ I am glad we are not voting on the actual home. That vote would entail a lot of serious thinking!
