2. I live in Colorado and never thought I would think any place was as beautiful as the Rocky Mountains. This home is gorgeous and I only hope that I can call this my 2nd home. 3. I feel that our family has a big connection to Stowe and this Dream Home because we are The Timm Family Singers(like The Trapp Family Singers) and have been called the vonTimms. All six of us have been singing together for more than a decade and the first musical theater production that Mom and Dad and our 4 children were in together was The Sound of Music! I have never been to Vermont, but have always wanted to go to Stowe because of the Trapp Family Lodge. I think that this Dream Home would be a wonderful place for our family to make some new music together.

4. After this is over someone is going to be so happy, someones life will be changing and in a good way. Im sad because this form we filled out everyday will be gone and so will that glimmer of hope. That hope it could be us, the hope for electricity, the hope for a safe vehicle, the hope that you have a fresh start someplace new and the hopes for our experience in a new town. 5. Count down saaaays 1 Day . Just wanted to say good luck to the very very lucky family who wins this beautiful home. So many happy dreams will come true for them, especially for those, like me who can vision home, hearth and family time being spent here. Future family Christmas's and holidays spent here , enjoying our old family traditions as well as discovering new . So many beautiful opportunities to discover all of Vermont and area. We here at the HGTV and Front Door blogs have all shared our dreams of owning this beautiful home, along with what we would do, from meals cooked, to exploring the beautiful area, to having our loved ones come and share in our happiness and while we create happiness for them. I know my husband and I would love to win, and share with our son , pass this down to him and our future grandchildren, this home will be a very big part of us. 8. Well everyone…it's almost over!!!! As much as all of us hope to be that lucky "one out of millions" ….and have in our own minds thought over and over about how much this would change our life and that of those around us. And how each and every one of us are hoping to hear that doorbell ring and peek out of our window and see HGTV representative holding a bouquet of balloons and a microphone and a camera crew ……know that I wish each and everyone of you blessings in your lives, and we all have something in common to share…A dream to better our lives! Regardless if we win or not..it was so nice to dream about what would have happened "What if" and that made it all worth it! Remember to always…Follow your dreams and never stop dreaming! 9. Love the house – would live there anytime. Just finished reading all the "rules" and how the "winner" will be selected and must say I'm not happy. Initially it says that the winner will be selected in a "random drawing". That's what I expected – BUT – it goes on to say that the folks putting up the money can "randomly select an unspecified number of potential finalists". This seems to imply that this won't be a "random drawing" for the winner but rather a selected group (unspecified in number) to be "finalists" and how the actual winner from that group of finalists is selected isn't even specified. The only thing that seems clear is that the winner will not be randomly selected from the pool of all entrants. Raises lots of questions.

   • The rules are written by lawyers and for lawyers and are written before all the future details of the sweepstakes are known. The rules are written to favor the sweepstakes sponsors and to not obligate them in a contract as if it were a regular business transaction. The rules often contain extra CYA stuff for conditions like when they had a random selection key ceremony at the 10th anniversary special with multiple semi-finalists who were randomly selected from all the entries, or for the potential case a "newsworthy in the wrong kind of way" type of person was randomly selected. You've always had the right not to enter the sweepstakes if you disagreed with the rules, and can still decline the prize(s) if you're picked. All large sweepstakes have similar official rules because there have been lawsuits in the past regarding them.

       • I think its much safer to believe you're entering the sweepstakes and just as likely to not win as the rest of the entrants. They're not going to guarantee all mailed in entries gets to them in time, they're not going to guarantee their internet servers are working 100% or any such thing that would draw the attention of someone looking at the deep pockets of being able to offer a $2,000,000 prize, as a reason to sue them for some settlement of breach of contract, when all they wanted to do was to have a wonderful national advertising vehicle for the sponsors products. They're not going to guarantee that absolutely anyone including registered predators or felons locked up in prison is going to be able to win the prize and create bad publicity,etc.,etc.. It has to be done within reason. They're not going to open every envelope and check if the person is related to a sponsor's employee, when they can wait until the end and just check the random selection and a few back-ups for such things. When the rules are written by lawyers, they're written according to past legal precedents and easy for the average person to misinterpret the wording, or insert their own false beliefs into why they're written that way, because they don't understand the legal contexts which caused them. As far as we know all the past dream home winners have been chosen randomly and there's no evidence to suggest otherwise.

       • You DO have just as much of a chance of winning as others, unless, of course, you don't meet the rules. They don't determine that until your name is drawn. It is a random drawing, yet they need to reserve the right to not award such a prize to someone who would embarrass the sponsors, such as Bernie Madoff or someone like that. It's not CYA as much as it is to keep in the spirit of the dream home. Stop being so negative and skeptical, although HGTV would not eliminate you for that.

I wondered how the winner would be selected and all along I felt it would be based on luck… not need, illness, deep desire, etc. After reading Wyom Grl's reply (somewhere on the site) I am so relieved to know I was right all along and that it would be by a random drawing. Phew! Not that I haven't had my share of tragic events… it's just good to know we are not competing based on heartache. Instead we are all equal in the land of hgtv! Thank you hgtv. <3

33. Hi..I and my husband have been married 6 yrs. He has helped me raise twins whom were born with cerebal palsy and one with septo-optic dysplasia. He has also helped raise a daughter now 16. We have had to move at least 5 times in the 9 yrs we have been together to find a home to accomadate our daughter with cp.
