WOW Gail!! As usual, wonderful job! And a BIG hello to everyone! I have had a very, busy school year with my little munchie! Enjoying volunteering in the classroom and special activities, as soon he will be heading to Jr. High…. YIKES!! I hope that you are well and I hope to catch up with you all! Love life by living green and having a dream!!
Welcome back, reneelovesgreen — we've missed you!
Renee loves and lives green, so glad to see you back! Enjoy your son. These are great years that can never be recaptured.
Lessie….. always the beautiful person you are!! Thank you!! Glad to be back!
Hi Reneelovesgreen! Welcome back to the blog!
Thank you eis0149…… Lot's of catching up to do!
Hi Renee, Wow look at all you are doing. Hurray for you, you are not only helping your son's
teacher, but all those other kids whose parents can't. Thank you for all of your work. Glad to
hear from you so thank you for checking in. You contribute so much all the time.
Hi SandyLA!! Thank you for you kind words, like always!! I can't wait to catch up with you all!!
Wow!! I thought I had accidently clicked on an old blog when I saw your name. Welcome back!! Good to see you in full color and presence. I've been wondering what your Europe trip did to your sense of priorities. Of course I consider the blog to be a priority, LOL, however if you're helping at your son's school, it sounds like your sense of priorities are right in line with all that is good.
Hi Cami!!! You always give me such a wonderful laugh!! I am excited to catch up with you all and hopefully will have a little more time to hang out! I keep forgetting that when I have my glass of wine, I can check online……
Hello, my friend, hello — someone that's great to know! Stop in again soon, reneelovesgreen.
Well….. well…. well….. Coop, my friend!! I am curious to find out what you have been up to…. Any trips back to your favorite place, Thailand? I am always worried about you getting on planes, but now that you must be pat down, I guess you can't hide that parachute… hehe…. B)! I am thrilled to catch up with you all!
Glad your back, greetings from R.I.:)
Gem95, thank you so much!! Glad to be back!! xD
OK…. there is a room with no description. Possibly a Media Room, for all of those snowed in days?! I am sure there has been much discussion on this, so forgive my ignorance. Have a lot of catching up to do!!!
You may be talking about the mechanical room, which is next to the laundry room.
OK… let me research more… So much catching up to do……. THX!!
There are a couple of rooms with no tour. A half bath/powder room on the main floor between the entry and the mud room. There is also a mechanical room on the lower level adjacent to the laundry room. You can see pics of the bathroom with the entry pics and pics of the mechanical room with pics of the laundry room.
HI David! You always are great at helping others out! I will look again.
Doesn't he………Yeah for David….Yahoo!!!!!
Yep!!! HipHip Hooray!!
SOOOOO glad to see you back, renee! The blog is never the same when you're away!!
You are tooo sweet, Wyo_Girl!! Hope all is well and I am looking forward to catching up with you all!!
What's to forgive Renee? You'll be up to speed in no time.
You are the kindest of friends!!
Renee loves and lives green' it's so easy to be a kind friend when you have a kind friend. Enjoy your day!
The media room is the lower level living space. However a couple of us would move the Ski Dorm TV upstairs to the gathering room and find some way to have a sliding scupture over the tv above the fireplace. I am very enamored of the ceiling treatments both upstairs and downstairs. Not sure which one I like best, the smooth birch or the rustic barn type.
The mechanical room has the innards for the heating/cooling/ hot water systems. I am sure it has some storage space as well.
Great reporting Nebraska!! Thanks you for the wonderful info!!
That is good to know, that means that they know what they are doing. I am glad that i am not in trouble for anything. Thanks for your help and incouraging advise.
i would give anything for a kitchen like this…no a house like this. it is ACTUALLY my dream home. Crazy. I lived in VT until i was 10 and never forgave my parents for leaving! lol I'm an artist and i love to cook with my kids; therefore, i have a great appreciation for every single detail of this home……it's flat out fabulous!!!! I'm obsessed!
If anyone of you are curious how Stowe is faring after the latest winter storm in the NE, these links will give you even more reasons to wish that this Winter Wonderland was in your own backyard … SKI IN, SKI OUT Snow Bunnies, Snow Angels, and Hotdoggers!

Thank you so much for the links, now I want to move their even more, lol Good Luck to ALL. Safe skiing, boarding!!
Oh OH OH! I was doing so well with trying to keep my mind occupied with other life things other than this beautiful getaway Dream House. WE are a skiing family and then you had to post these webistes and i could not help but take a peak…drooling over here. Thank you for sharing. Looks so gorgeous.
Well my husband just got laid off, so I am now one of the sob stories looking for a leg up on life. This is a disaster. I don't know what we are going to do.
I'm very sorry to learn that your husband has been laid off. I know this is very difficult for all of you. You are in my prayers and I hope that your situation improves very soon.
I'm so sorry for your family. I'll include you in my prayers.
I'm so sorry you're in those circumstances. I wish things were better for everyone. <3
Hockey_Chick, so sorry to hear that you have landed in the same boat we are in ! It is a shock when that happens; I hope things can turn around quickly for you, and I definitely sympathize. Hoping for the best for you & your family….so many are going through similar scenarios.
Thank you everyone. I really appreciate the prayers. It is going to be tough going for a while but hopefully it turns out ok.
Hockey_Chick, sorry to hear that your husband was laid off but you aren't a sob story. Yes, this may be a temporary disaster but you will come through it. Once you're on the other side, you will be amazed at the strength, courage, and stamina you and your family have gained from the experience.
A nice little bunnie and four times the luck would be super. Thanks.
I sdure did appreciate your words of encouragement. I have been through so much, and the doctors didnt think i would have improved as much as i have. I think , abouthow lucky i am with all that i have retought myself to do. I am glad and happy to be able to talk. I wasnt able to do so for such a long time. I can remember when the red cross reached out to send my younger brother home from over sees he is also proud to be a Marine. He was at my bed side when i woke up from a coma after two weeks in a coma, and i passed away 9 times. They kept jump starting my heart. Eventhough i am no longer able to walk. i consider myself luchy to be alive. I was in saint alphonsus hospital in boise for over two months. I am a lucky boy
You sound very lucky, indeed, and you also have a wonderful brother !
What a great story, Hudjon1977. You beat death 9 times?!!!! Wow, you have more lives than a cat! Glad you're still with us.
Oh my, dear hudson1977…. you passed away 9 times? You must be meant to be here on earth! Did you have any "near-death experience" visions?
Saw a movie once about that happening……. with Ellen Burstyn.
(Ellen Burstyn experiences the afterlife for a brief time after a car accident that kills her husband. Then she is able to heal other people. Her healing hands even heal her own legs. Good movie.)
Watch it here…….. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U1wh5K1a7GE
1980 movie "Resurrection" .
hudson1977
Let me know if you saw the video.
Wonderful message of healing from that movie.
OMG
I rewatched it just now. All eleven parts!
Hope you can enjoy it also hudson1977.
I have seen stuff like this happen.
I guess its ok to celabrat my birthday the hole month. I think this april will see if i can do so. I do try to keep my bottom lip in, becouse i do remember my mother telling my little nefew, that if he does not put the bottom lip in , then a bird will poop on his lip. I wounder if its true. I am still trying verry hard to remaine in a good mood. My hair tends to get a little long during the winter , so i can keep the back of my neck worm. I am going to ge. My appointment my hair cut proffeshinally. My appointment is at 4.p.m. Then i hope to go to the local bowling alley to play some pool with my father , this is if he does show up. He only said maybe
Hope you have a great time while you're out, Hudjon1977.
Hope you had a nice day.
Good movie to see….. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U1wh5K1a7GE
Thanks for letting me be welcome on the blogg. I have never done any kind of blogging before now.. I love erverything that the HGTV dream team does for the just normal person. All my stories are true. I loveall my squrells outside and one inside my appartnent. Thanks for letting me be the bloggers friend. I like glogging. Last year i was never able to figure this blogging out, but i feel like i have made a lot of progress.
Thanks for your advise. I felt like i was being insulted. I felt like she was telling me that she didn't like hearing about my pet squrells, Becouse i tend to talk about them, becouse i do love each of my pet squrells. I will put the comments behind me. Thanks for all the bloggers help. I tell these true storis that are true, becoust i wanted all the bloggers comunity to know who i aM . i am allways trying to keep myself busy know matter what i am doing. I do try to keep my mind occupied.
hudjon1977–everyone is welcome on the blogs and you have gotten support from some special bloggers who enjoy reading your blogs. The great thing about the Dream Home blog is that so many of us enjoy the dream of a beautiful home that HGTV builds each year. Other blogs have support groups, and you may someday find one where other people also have been recovering from injury or illness. It would be nice to have a blog about dreams and another blog site to read about others who understand what you have gone through to get well. You sound like a very strong person to have survived all of that !
LLColeman, what a great idea. Never thought about researching support group blogs for soldiers recovering from wounds. Such a group would give Hudjon two blogging groups to comment on. If you find one, please share the link. I'll look for one too.
Hudjon, after you've read LLColeman's comment, want to know if you're interested in sharing on blog sites for wounded soldiers or wounded warriors? If so, I'll research some of those support groups if you promise tol continue to blog with us too.
I'm very inspired by what you've been through hudjon. Along with the other suggestions of commenting on other blogs as well as this one; I was thinking you might also consider writing a book, and/or a journal.
You have a background that others may gain strength from reading (even if it's not published). You also have a unique gift with animals, that I personally find interesting, since I'm an animal and nature lover too. You've brought back fond memories of my teen years as I watched squirrels for hours at a time. They are very entertaining.
So gorgeous! I am praying I will be able to bring both my family and my in-laws together in that kitchen. We will be able to comfortably sit and have a few great meals there! A perfect getaway and home for us all.
Where is the pantry? The house sleeps 14. You need a ton of space for food storage. Any ideas?
Well, ..where is the pantry? Wasn't last years pantry perfect? This year is a little confusing as the house is being pushed as a ski dorm vacation home with a chef's kitchen but without food storage. The mud room has a lot of storage and I venture to say, we will end up using portions of that as the pantry due to the location of the mud room to the kitchen. Also, I would probably end up building storage shelves on the East wall of the garage too.
Last years Dream Home / 10 had a beautiful big pantry and I am a little bit concern over that maybe if I could leave a space in the mudroom for can goods and stuff it could work ?
Thats what I thought too. Its sad to have to use the mud room for a pantry. Where would you keep the vacuum cleaner LOL
The back wall of the garage could possibly hold a wall of closet/workbench to put brooms vacuum …)
Another winter storm for the east, I bet the DH/11 looks amazing with all that snow around it and the mountains behind it are pack with snow boarders if I win at least once I have to try the sky trails I would have to take lessons first so I don't end up injured on my first try hahaha.
If you've forgotten, or you just dropped in recently, you might not know that Stowe Mercantile products are in the HGTV Dream Home. Some of the items include handcrafted stoneware 'Stowe' mugs, hand-carved wooden bowls, and body and bath products as well as clothing. (see photo #11 of the Ski Dorm for some of the clothing items.) Looks like Stowe Mercantile's got it pegged in this year's Dream Home.
Coop, I did notice this and very excited about the products being local. It's very important to me to utilize the area commodities and support the local residents. It's even better when the products are perfect for the home such as these products. Thank you for posting this observation. I don't get to read all the posts anymore, (11 hour work days) but not complaining and still fun to see what we all notice.
Cool!! I must head over to check those out! Always great, informative info!
Well I finally did my homework and researched the DH and Mountain Lodge exact locations and distance from each other, and of course as I posted last week, I found my wine lounge less than a minute from the house because the DH home is 52 seconds from the parking lot of the Lodge. The satellite site is fun to look at. For me, I like having the home close to this entertainment/restaurant/ice/skating rink/ ski lodge. While I will not be skiing I will be renting to skiers, and personally, the lodge is the perfect place for me have fun and meet people to network for renters….oh, and drink a glass of wine.
Great strategy Charmayne.
I did that a couple of weeks ago- I wanted to know how close the spa was!
The kitchen is always my most favorite part in the house and I am definitely not disappointed. Everything looks very well made and there is so much storage place and it's all unique! And I'm also very excited about the wine cooler, lol.
Thank you Gail and Mary! I'm glad that I was able to get a bit of a glimpse into this gorgeous kitchen!
I’ve been reading all the comments trying to catch up. It looks like there’s alot ofcabinets in the kitchen for storage. Definately enough fridge space. The garage could always be used for excess, extra tupperware pots and what nots could be put on shelves out there. Ido love this house!
I am glad that most bloggers are good to communicate with. I do read all your bloggs cami. You have a lot to say. Erverything that i do is to try to better myself, and try to help any one if at all possible. This includes my loveable animals known as squrells. If i turned donna/ simon loose , i can garantee that she wouldnt survive. I am all she has ever known. We are allmost allways together, However she does sleep a lot. Cami do you like reading my many funny , however true stories about my family of squrells? I tell people about me, becouse this is what i do day in and night. The lives of the pets i have mean the world to me. They are all my babbys.
What could be better than pancakes? How about blueberry pancakes — today is National Blueberry Pancake Day! I'll have mine with some pure Vermont maple syrup, of course!
I am starving now!! Blueberry is my favorite!!
We actually had some leftover Vermont pancake mix and maple syrup from the Vermont gift basket I gave my husband for Christmas, as well as fresh blueberries, so guess what we had for breakfast!
CplusE, you're taunting my tate buds. So glad you were able to enjoy a Vermont breakfast this morning.
The delightful smells coming from these posts are making me hungry!
Me too, RJMstone. Blueberry pancakes with Vermont maple syrup…..sweet!
Looks like a great skiing weekend here in Vermont. I have a short drive to Smuggs, which is on the other side of Stowe. Even though Smuggs is just over the mountain, in the winter you can't drive over, so it's a 60-90 minute drive to Stowe for us, so Smuggs it is, that is until I win and move to Stowe. =) Those that are extreme, can ski from Smuggs to Stowe. Problem is getting back. Here's a YouTube video of the road that connects to two in the spring or summer, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBosSnHjgRU This is the Stowe side up, So if you picture the road behind the house, this drive is going right, up the mountain road. You can still find snow in some of the caves in May and June. The video doesn't capture the beautiful mountains when driving up as it focuses more on the road. There are entry points for the Long Trail along this road. Great for hikers. Good luck to all that enter today!
Thanks for the youtube link Dpsaint. There are lots of boulders along the road. Did they fall from the mountain? Are you going to tour the Dream Home? If so, will you share your experiences on the blog?
The boulders are there naturally, the road is very curvy, because they went around many. There are signs for “watch for falling rocks”, but for the most part they are just there. I think the tour is $20 a person. I didn't want to spend the money, but if you look at my Profile photo you can see I've been to the house. =) The lot is bigger than I thought, and it would be private with foliage on the trees. The overall appearance is impressive as far as style and workmanship, but the home isn't super big. As designed, I think it's meant to be a retreat or a getaway. Definitely a place we would spend long periods of time at, but with a 3 year old and 6 year boy and girl, we didn’t see the home as practical for a family of 4. We would use the home season round and rent it enough to cover taxes and fees. Having the pick of dates would still be a dream for us and a month at a time in the summer is cool. School vacations the rest of the year. The inside, wasn’t viewable, because the blinds were down, probably to keep peepers like us at bay. I didn’t walk around back (hot tub area) because I thought that would be pushing it. No doubt this home would make anyone proud, and I get a very clear impression it would be a home you would share time with groups of people. I family of 2 or 3 would work out perfect. One thing I was surprised about, but did realize after looking at the site again, is that there is no room or storage over the garage. There is a window about the garage doors, but it’s just a super high ceiling inside. It would have been nice to have space for storage. There is little storage, which would also make it hard for a family to live. No shed for the yard tools. Many have mentioned that lack of storage. With two cars in the garage there wouldn’t be a ton of space for bike’s which is a most for Stowe.
Thanks for the wonderful description of the Dream Home, Dpsaint. I never pictured it as my place of residence but it sure would make a great retreat home. It's also good to know that no one can see in when the shades are down. I'm sure that makes Ed in Oregon happy (he's not a fan of see-thru windows, especially in the bathroom). As for the garage, the winner can always add a storage room or even a bedroom for wayward guests who continually extend their departure date. As you said, bikes are a must for Stowe. Maybe HGTV will surprise the winner with bikes on bike racks in the garage. Can't imagine them overlooking that detail.
I think you have me mixed up with my wife Lessie. I have no trouble with see through windows. I like your snow scene picture.
You're bad, Ed.
Guess it depends on where the see through windows are. That's the four inch snow the weatherman said we'd get the other day. Do you think he was a tad bit off?
So, did you see the latest blog, dpsaint? Mary references the name of the street as Lift Line Drive. I always thought it was Ski Club Ln — did they build a new road just for the Dream Home?
What a beautiful route! I especially like the brief history included with this video. It gave more
meaning to the visual picture, imagining the smugglers and fugitives traveling to Canada during
different eras of history. It evolved from a footpath to the scenic route of today. Thanks!
Oh my — I'll pass on that one!
CplusE, maybe a video of last year's event will persuade you to change your mind LOL!!
http://7d.blogs.com/stuckinvt/2010/02/lake-elmore…
I've been reading all the comments and feel that I know each of you, fellow bloggers. So I was thinking…
If I won the DH, how do I pay it forward? What if I set up a drawing for ONLY THE BLOGGERS and drew 2 names. (double the chances) Each would be invited to Stowe for a week, with their families, as my guest. If you could get there, my husband and I would supply all the food and cook for you. So my question is: when would you most like to visit? Would you pick a week in the summer when you can hike on those wonderful Stowe trails, in the fall to see the colors, in winter to ski, or in spring when it's green?
Oh, definitely fall. Thanks for the invite!
Definitely the fall — I've always wanted to be a New England leaf peeper!
Great idea! I would pick fall, we love the colors. I can't wait to see the look on the winner's face
It actually brings tears to my eyes. I think that has to be my favorite part of the sweepstakes. Good Luck!
Thanks for the most lovely offer!!
If ya win and have that drawing……… and if my name wins…..
could I film a short "I Love Lucy" remake of a short and funny skit up there at the Stowe HGTV Dream Home?? Ohhhhh…. a Ski Dorm funny would be fun!
Just asking. (You could even be in it if ya wanted.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L8n2sV0IfAM&fe…
GOOD LUCK!
Aaaaa….. just kidding about the filming!
To be honest brlight, I thnk I'd like an invitation to each season since each season is special. See what happens when you offer someone something special–they always want to add to it, right HGTV? But as with any special offer, i'd have to accept what is offered. I must now decide between a fall or spring visit. Love to see nature as it prepares for winter and also when it awakes from it's winter rest.
Since I have given up the ski's I would say Spring. I love seeing the earth come back alive after a full winter. However, October is my favorite month because of the wonderful colors.
I used to be an avid skier and we had a condo in Winter Park for family (and we rented it out when we weren't using it).
The fall would be my first choice with summer being my second. It looks like fall is a definite
preference from the answers so far!
That's a good question even if you don't win. Soo I'm thinking. I'll bet I can't have the Christmas and New Years weeks… If I could that would be ideal. I guess the only other practical time would be summer. I would love to see the leaves in the fall though, and I'm curious what spring is like. Ohh they don't have spring until May, and then a cool summer. Hmmmm, I guess Summer is my vote.
Thanks for the invite I would choose august in the summer I love hiking with my 2 dogs (Can I bring them too? they are a big part of my family.)
Goodmorning to all my nice friends on the blogg. I am just sitting here getting ready to get my two more sweepstakes entries for the day. I have been keeping up well with my goal this year. It is allways a good goal to try and remember to enter the HGTV dream home givaway daily each year. I have been doing good at this this year. My squrell is doing fine. She allways wants me to play with her ervery day about this time of morning, then she will be tired for a few hours. She keeps me busy for the most part. Some days i do wish that she could scratch my back. Becouse my back tends to itch at times. Thank you to all who has supported my thoughts the past few days. I am verry gratefull to all who have given me support at a time when i was in need. I am glad to know that i did nothing wrong. Thanks my bloggers comunity
Great tour Gail…Love the features in this kitchen and the WHOLE house!!! The pull out lazy susan is such a great idea. Loving all the tucked in storage ideas too—it beats leaving spices out on the counter, lol ; )
What is going on with this weather? (52, this am) We moved from AZ to FL for breezes from the ocean, not to freeze! Though, we are out of the High Rise and into a home (some of you know that my son is bummed about that one, as he can't watch for the Yacht of his favorite actor now) it has been wonderful and I love that I can sit on the porch and watch my son fish off the dock, ride his bike around the neighborhood. We have been busy with his traveling soccer team, acting (he just performed as Eeyore and a skunk and his next role that he is trying out for is Pinnochio, which is a great role for this little Italian….hehe….. ) and adding to our landscape. I am wondering what is new with many of you!! And did anyone see the ape walking upright in England?? I swore it was someone in a costume as, his posture was amazing…. WOW. Can't wait to catch up more!! Love life by living green and having a dream!!
52 would definitely be considered a heatwave in my neck of the woods Renee. ^_^ So glad you're in a home. Sitting on the porch and watching your son fish off the dock is great. The picture that creates in my mind is "sitting on the dock of the bay wasting time" by Otis Redding. (Probably won't be able to get that song out of my mind now.) Sitting on the porch or the dock is so peaceful to me. What a great way to spend time!
Glad your son is pursuing his acting career. Just think, bloggers will be able to say, "I knew him when…." Hope he gets the lead role in Pinnochio.
As for me, see below.
I know….. 52, makes me sound like a wimp. We are so use to running around in t-shirts and flip flops!! It has been much colder (low 30's), but nothing like the Upper East Coast!! WOW… I would love to enjoy a few days of the snow, but love that I could come home and enjoy the 70's again! I love that song….. and it is in my mind now, too…. hehe) It is a wonderful experience sitting out there with him…. A few months ago we had 10-12 manatees hanging out around our dock…. It was so beautiful! Luca has enjoyed his stage work so much, that he also joined the choir at school and is trying out for the Talent Show (he is going to perform card tricks with an added comedy show).
I know what you mean Renee loves and lives green. You wouldn't have to travel far to experience the snow. Atlanta is much closer, so are some of the other snowed-in southern states. Did you ever meet Debbie, the Florida blogger who was remodeling her bathroom? Haven't heard from her or Marie Miller lately. H_S moved to Colorado after finding true love on the blog. So I imagine you won't see him riding his Harley in Florida unless he's visiting.
Seems like Luca is extremely well adjusted and is doing great. Hope he has some of the best experiences of his life in Florida. Not everyone gets to see 10-12 manatees hanging out around their dock. Just goes to show that even manatees want to be around extra special people like you.
Please let us know how Luca does in the Talent Show.
No, I never had a chance to meet Debbie… and Marie Miller was barely on when I took a break… and H_S updated me on his new love and romance novel, but sometimes I think of him when driving to a soccer game and see a gentleman on a Harley with hot peppers on his t-shirt!
Luca is doing great….. I am a lucky mother! He loves a fishing, swimming, biking and so much more. In Arizona, there were many months that were difficult just to get outside…. THE HEAT….. Here, we always have a breeze and then the rain comes to cool us off. I will be sharing his experience in the Talent Show… He has decided to wear his Halloween costume, the Mad Hatter to perform in! Too cute….
Talk to you soon, friend!!
Sittin' in the mornin' sun
I'll be sittin' when the evenin' come
Watching the ships roll in
And then I watch 'em roll away again, yeah
I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away
Ooo, I'm just sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time
I left my home in Georgia
Headed for the 'Frisco bay
'Cause I've had nothing to live for
And look like nothin's gonna come my way
So I'm just gonna sit on the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away
Ooo, I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time
Look like nothing's gonna change
Everything still remains the same
I can't do what ten people tell me to do
So I guess I'll remain the same, yes
Sittin' here resting my bones
And this loneliness won't leave me alone
It's two thousand miles I roamed
Just to make this dock my home
Now, I'm just gonna sit at the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away
Oooo-wee, sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time
(whistle)
AHHH, Lessie–the memories ! Do you know that I was lucky enough to be living in Monterey the year the Monterey Pop concerts occurred ? AND my friend and I were able to go, and we went to the concert that featured Otis Redding!!! I still can't believe I was able to see him live, just before his untimely crash. He was magnificent on the stage–everyone was standing up during his set. "Try a Little Tenderness" was beyond description. We were so stunned to hear of his death afterward.
Not everyone knows that he WROTE "Dock of the Bay" also.
LLColeman, some experiences lead to a lifetime of good memories. While visiting New York, a tour guide on the night double decker bus would point out something amazing about New York and say, "And You Were There!" Made us feel like we were part of something special. The Monterry Pop Concert with Otis Redding….now that was something special and YOU WERE THERE! You actually lived a piece of history that still brings good memories to mind. Can't begin to imagine the energy in the crowd when Otis sang "Try a Little Tenderness." Enjoy your memories!
In honor of the Monterey Pop Concert with Otis Redding, here's to you LLColeman:
Try A Little Tenderness
Otis Redding
Oh she may be weary
And young girls they do get wearied
Wearing that same old shaggy dress
Yeah Yeah
But when she gets weary Try a little tenderness, yeah yeah
Oh my my, huh
You know she's waiting
Just antiicipating
A thing that she'll never
Never, never, never, never possess, yeah yeah yeah
But while she's there waiting
And without them
Try a little tenderness
That's all you gotta do
It's not just sentimental, no no no
She has her grief and care
Yeah yeah yeah
But the soft words
They are spoke so gentle, yea
It makes it easier
Easier to bare, yea
You won't regret it, no no
Young girls they don't forget it
Love is their whole happiness, yeah
But it's all so easy
All you've gotta do is, man
Hold her where you want her
Squeeze her, don't tease her
Never leave her, get to her
Just try a little tenderness, yeah, yeah, yeah
You got to know how to love her, man
Take this advice, man
You got to squeeze her
Don't tease her, never leave
You got to hold her
And brother, something else
Try a little tenderness, yeah yea yeah yeah
You've got to tenderness, now, uh
I tell you, don't lose her, no no
You got to love her, tease her
Don't leave her
Got to try, now now now
Try a little tenderness, yeah
Watch the groove
You got to know what to do, man
Take this advice
You gotta love and squeeze
Don't tease my baby
Love her, lord…
Lessie–thank you for that sweet 'retracing' of the lyrics, you always leave heartfelt gifts for everyone on the blog. (That last post even has all the improvisations at the end of the song: never heard him sing: "watch the groove"). Words for us to live by: Watch The Groove…………
I do agree that Lessie does put an extra caring magnanimous effort into this blog with any new, old & those that may be reaching out for a connection in posting here.
You're too sweet PFG! Thanks for your kind and encouraging comments to bloggers.
You're most welcome LLColeman. Sometimes it's great to sit back and enjoy sweet memories from the past–gives you incentive to make more memories now for later,
I think you moved to the wrong state Renee. It has been in the 60s the past two days here in Oregon. That gorilla was definitely amazing. Maybe it is the missing link? I saw the gorilla on the same news show where they had kids stuffing basketballs off of a miniature trampoline. One of the little guys got too much air and stuffed the ball and himself throuh the hoop! ^_^
Hey there friend!! You are still so funny……. Hope all is great with you and I am enjoying catching up. Missed you all!!
Mary, are you on vacation or has the weather prevented you from getting to work? I know you're a faithful employee and are desperately trying to get a new post up as quickly as possible. If you're having weather problems, don't worry because your safety is very important to us. It's ok with bloggers if you call Gail and ask her to share a vlog or two.
Take care of yourself and hope you get back to work as quickly as possible. Enjoy your day!
We're also having a polar bear splash in Maryland, Deerspring. Water temps are COLD! I plan to support it as I do every year….watching it on tv from the comfort of my home.
I agree so I posted a video of last year's event to CplusE. How much snowfall have you had so
far, Lessie? I saw a news report on how alot of areas have already reached their normal
amount for the whole season.
Sorry…. I'll pass on that also!
RJM, it's not my cup of tea, either. In fact I would rather have a hot cup of tea, watching the
video. Splash and dash is not exactly my way of having fun, but I like to watch those who
are willing to try especially for charity!
SUPER DUPER DEAL!!
Hope they all build/ remodel as great as "Holmes on Homes"!!
FYI Bloggers, there's a new vlog from Gail.
Coop, if I don't win the Dream Home, I'd love to be HGTV'd! If they did a kitchen and family room make-over that would be divine!!!
I did get my hair cut last night, and i can feel the wind woop past the back of my neck. I think my hair was slowing me down a bit. I went to the bowling alley in hopes that i could get my dad to play a game of pool with me. I was unable to get him to play, So i just left after eating my hamburger. I did go to the car wash last night to empty the dirt out of the vacume cleaners. I only found one dime, and 8 pennies. I will take a penny any day, Becouse they do add up verry fast. And of course i dont spend a wheet back penny from the 1950s. I just collect them. They arent easy to find, but when i find them i tend to hold onto them.
"A PENNY SAVED IS A PENNY EARNED." per Benjamin Franklin.
a) If Ben had deposited one penny into a certificate of deposit that earned 4.5% compounded quarterly on the last day of his life, as of today, what would be the current value of the account for Ben's descendants?
Didn't he father a few daughters?
Franklin's passing at the age of 84 and his 1790 funeral procession, attended by some 20,000 mourners, and includes a photo of his grave (with pennies), located at 5th and Arch in old Philadelphia.

Hmmmm, that picture makes him look something like Bing Crosby. Wonder if he could sing like him?
Yes i do promise to still blogg with my bloggy comunity, and i will think about the other site that you told me about. It is not easy to be a blogger, but i have been doing good so far keeping up with the race. Now that i have got a month of entris into this sweepstakes twice daily, And i am getting ready to move from my appartment. I had been evicted for 6 months, becouse the lady accross the strreet was getting upset when i feed the squrells, not to mention she was feeding them poison with penutbutter. I dont feel like any one has a right to take the life willinglyof one of my squrells. I do wish that i could pack them up , and take them with my to my new place.
Hope your move goes well Hudjon1977. Don't worry about the squirrels you're leaving behind. I'm sure they will survive.
I had to finish my comment about me moving. Noe that i have been entering with my current address, and i am moving will that month of entris still count for me? I just dont want to start over cutting the number of times that i had been entering. Well i stii want them to count taword my name as entries into this awsome HGTV dream home sweepstakes. I still cant belive how well they were able to put the HGTV home together. It is a sallid home indeed.
Your address is not the only info on the sweeps entry. If you're the winner, HGTV can contact you by phone or email. Besides, the PO has a change of address form you fill out when you move.
I really want to make a statement, That i am glad that alot of people enjoy listening to my true stories. I love erverything living een if they do attack me. I am talking about my squrells . I am gratefull for all the supporters that have reached out to support me in my stories. This gives me one more thing to be gratefull for, besides still being alive. I have been invited to go do actiivitis with the american leagion for vetrans, However i watch wrestling on tv. The meet on monday, and wrestling is on monday nights, wich i do tape weekly. This is one show that i record next to a show called survivor. And i taped the HGTV dream home on january first were i got to see monica pederson is ok. I am working on getting a teevo, to record when i am not here.
Too funny hudjon1977. Won't tell the cat about your nine lives so she won't get jealous.
Does any one know how to get a photo posted to my photo that is blank. I do think it would be cool to put a picture of my cat and squrell. I have seen lots of pets/ dogs posted where the man, or waman is going to be. My squrell likes to have her picture taken, and she is cute. Today on the 6 a.m .news they said if iturn myheat down during the winter then i would loose weight. I wonder if this is true. Well i am not upset any more, and am glad that i have some people who do enjoy my true storis. Thank you verry much
Its really too bad that monica pederson is not in any of the current videos, with the HGTV dream team.I dont think she is unless i have been missing her video. Does anyone know the answer. Well back to the gloggers. I am verry thankful for the HGTV dream team to allow ervery one the oppratnity to own there own home. I have been thinking about the HGTV dream home for years now. I am not able to forget about the dream home. This means i will get all my entries into this givaway, wich is good. I know were i am going to be living, but i dont know what the address is yet. I do know how to get there.
If ya win…. they may call you!
I get so excited every time I tour the home (which is daily), I am all ready to move from California to Vermont…and I keep dreaming…never hurts to dream a little, you never know!!! Love, Love Love all the decorating, it is just perfect!! I can imagine the winters are cold, but that doesn't matter to me, I will hunker down in my beautiful home and enjoy every moment of it!! Can anyone tell me what the summers are like there??
Michele, we've visited Stowe more in the summer than any other time of year and, more often than not, the weather is beautiful. (Though it can rain from time to time!) Most days in the 70's, and far less humid than in the Champlain Valley area (near Burlington, say). It can get deliciously chilly at night. I am describing, for the most part, July vacations. Towards the end of August, you can begin to feel–and see-autumn, though it can be quite warm too, stretching through September.
I toured the Dream Home in Stowe last Sunday and it is even more beautiful in person than it is on the TV or computer. It seems smaller (I say that in a positive way) and cozier in real life. The location on the mountain is ideal for skiing and the winner will love the surrounding area.
Thanks for the general details Kdoole01, I really appreciate it. Now let's pretend I'm your extremely nosey best friend. Can you please describe your visit to the Dream Home, knowing that I want to see every thing you saw during the tour, as though we're sitting across from one another and sipping our favorite drinks. It's okay to embellish.
Your first comment was after your first drink. You're now on your third one and I say, "Girl, tell me about the tour. Did you enjoy it?" and your response is……….
.I also want to hear all the little details so I better make a full batch of drinks do you prefer martinis wines or margaritas.
The kitchen storage is super cool – my kitchen now is from the /70's and since I cook a whole bunch, I've had to add a restaurant shelving unit in the corner to hold my wonderful Food Network purchases such as bakeware and two awesome Moroccan cooking vessels…which,by the way, make great chicken and veggie dishes. . . for those recipes I needed to order special Moroccan spices. I made a huge mistake with one of the jars – I thought "well, I'll add a little more to boost up the flavor profile" no no no, it was wayyyy to spicey. OK, the folks that design recipes certainly know better than I do ! Does anyone watch the Food Network and get some great ideas? I just love it – and their website is amazingly good.
Sounds like you are hooked. Enjoy!
I have just found this site and I'm sad I missed it all this time! I'm in love wtih the kitchen! I live in a eat in kitchen that is so small! That KITCHEN would help my family cook family meals together! My husband and I love trying new this and our sons <3 helping! It would be amazing to have a kitchen we all can enjoy at the same time!!!!
Thank you so much for you responsis to my bloggsd, wich i do enjoy doing so. I never belived i would ever be able to do what i have accoplished. If you want to see something rally funny. I watch my 15 squrells bary there penuts in the grass, I myself go get the nut and put it with there other nuts by my front door, I watch the squrells go back to get the penut that is no longer there. Any person can get entertained for hours watching , and i myself do talk to the squrells. Belive mme they totally understand me. They come to me, and they eat from my hand. I respect animals so much.
I am glad that my secret is safe about me having nine lives. I still will allways consider myself lucky , and to be able to do erverything i am able to do. I love my life with all my big heart. Thanks
Dear lessie. My move did go queit well. I stayed the night last night with my cat at my new place, and she was rather nevous. she did not sleep verry much at all. As for myself i did sleep well last night from 11.P.M. till 3.30.A.M. I just dont really sleep verry much at all. Thanks for being my bloggy friend
At least the HGTV dream team will be able to get a hold of my. My name will allways be the same of course. Im not going to change my birthday or my phone number. I am listed , and have had all the same information for years now.
Yes i would love to be active with the american legion, except ervery one who i have met there are 40 to 50 years older than myself. I love erverything thats alive, But some people i would rather not accosiate with. I try to mind my own buisnes exept last year about june i was emplying the vacums for money, you know the change people vacume up from there cars, when i came along a brake in in progress at the local gas station. But being who i am could not let it happen, so i did take control of the situation to the best of my ability. Samething when i see a car accident.
I am so sorry for not blogging last night . I did move all my things into my new place along with my old hospital bed. So i did sleep at my n new place and i did remember the computer , however i did forget my computer modem. Wich you need to opperate wireless internet i think. But i did get my entries into day. I didnt feel too bad that i forgot my computer modem, becouse my mother forgot it also. This did make me feel good , except i dont know anything about a modem, becouse i consider myself rather new with the hole internet, and i am learning something different daily.
