I would have no problem cooking away in that gorgeous kitchen while enjoying the immensely beautiful views; I wouldn't even mind cleaning up afterwards!!!
Just call me Paula Deen in this kitchen !
Home is where the heart is and the kitchen is is the heartbeat. I love how open and inviting the kitchen is! Probably the space where we will be spending a lot of time. My two girls will enjoy learning how to cook in it. I shouldn't leave out my son. He enjoys experimenting with different flavorings in foods. Thanks for the tour and showing us the cabinets. I love all the space and the spice rack!
I have wondered how I could possibly live in the dream house affordably. HOA rules do not allow for B&B rentals. So, why not creatively separate the two floors so that the whole bottom floor could be rented while living on the top floor. Investing in a sink, dishwasher, stove along the barn door wall (move it to the ski poster wall) and build a pocket door closing off the two floors, the “Dream House Vacation Rental” would be highly desirable. In addition, put another driveway in, coming from 108, so that renters can enter the door(s) off the terrace. I figure the total investment cost would be about $75,000, at most, when including resort membership fees. Renting the bottom floor that sleeps 12, with full indoor and outdoor kitchens, separate entrances, hot tub, resort amenities, and laundry facilities would yield enough money to pay property taxes ($2000/month), resort dues ($750/month), and payments on mortgage ($2500/month) needed to cover income taxes. Those monthly expenses as well as insurance and utilities would require income from the rental for about 12 days/month if rented at $700/night. And the rental could be opened up for occasional family visits. Then, in about two years, when the housing market rebounds, sell. What a wonderful two years that could be!!
I did go to church at 10:30 today , then i went down to my appartment , wich i can still accupie until february 5 th. Some one left me a couple of small bags of cans. Then i went dowi to the local mcdonalds were i do pick up all the change on the parking lot. I worked for the same owners for two years when i was in high school. They know me well , and they do respect me alot, and i show them respect also. There is no reason to try and disrespect anyone. If my comment might hurt some one i dont say anything to them. I dont want to hurt there feelings. But today is a good day for all of us bloggers. Good job HGTV dream team
My husband is the chef in the family. It looks like he would love it! It would be so easy to entertain and converse with the entire family while cooking too. Love the seating area attached to the counter. Great for grandkids. It would be a dream come true to win!
these details are fabulous!!! every time a feature was introduced, i thought that's fantastic. then you would introduce another feature and i liked that one even more. they really did think about all the little details. all the pull out shelves and drawers are great to be able to actully see what you have stocked in your kitchen. its so easy for things to get lost in back of cabinets and then they spoil before you use them. these cabinet features would really help to see what you have so you can minimize waist (on top of great functionality).
Don't know if this has been asked, but is there a pantry?
I JUST LOVE THE KITCHEN! LOVE TO COOK. I COULD REALLY HAVE LOTS OF DINNERS IN THERE. __LOTS OF COOK OUTS, MEET NEW PEOPLE. YES,YES, LOVE THIS HOUSE!!!!!!!!!! I'M A WINTER PERSON MYSELF. I'M 51 BUT A KID IN THE SNOW!! LOVE IT! THE LAYOUT OF THIS HOUSE IS JUST
WONDERFUL! MY SPECIALTY IS MAKING HOMEMADE LASAGNA! EVEYONE IN MY FAMILY WANTS MY RECIPE. I LOVE TO PLAY IN THE SNOW WITH MY POODLES! I HAVE 3. ME&MY HUSBAND LOVE TO WATCH THEM RUN AROUND AND PLAY. YES VERMONT IS THE PLACE!!!!!!!! "GOOD LUCK TO ALL"!!

I have to have that kitchen it is AMAZING!!!!! ) WHEN CAN I MOVE IN LOL
I hope I win this house it would really help my family out considering our situation is not the best right now. I kn ow my two kids would love this kitchen, and it would be a blast to be able to cook in it. I think I would have try out local recipes.
Wow! We love this dream house. After reading from victhechic I have to say that I’m a bit discouraged. Is it true that it would be that costly just to live there even winning $500,000? The average American couldn’t withstand the cost. So, if its true why wouldn’t HGTV give away an affordable home to people who really need one? I still want to win it!
That doogie house in the master bedroom is a great decor complement to the room and not like throwing a pillow or cushins on the floor. Does the pillow cover comes off for washing.
My cat and dog would love to share the little doggie house.
My 2 dogs would have a little problem one is 130lbs the other 100lbs.
Well I am happy that another day has gone by , and i was able to enter twice more, wich is cool and my goal. I hope that all the other bloggers are doing well. The HGTV dream home looks as beuitifull as it allways will. I am happy that iwill be able to see the road from the hot tub, have an good day erverybody.
Maybe I have missed it, but was there and answer to the question concerning the glass fronts that rim the tops of the kitchen cabinets under the lighting? Is that more cabinet space?
I love the idea of all those windows and the sliding glass doors out to the deck, but not happy about having my back to it when at the big sink washing up. I would so have to have a big mirror over the sink so I can see the view behind me.
i would love to win this home myself. i'm from mass. so i grew up in snow. would love to go back to it! i can't beleive how beautiful this house is. my family is up north. never get to see them. have not seen them in years. it would be great ,,,,,, then they could come to my new home! i would be so proud, happy!!! family means alot to me!!
I know how you feel my family is in Quebec and this house would bring me closer to them so they can visit more often as could I ,good luck to you.

Thanks for the great tour… it just brings hopes to us dreamers… i wish this is one dream that comes true for me!
lots of love from HN in Texas!
Where I live we just got about 12″ of blowing snow. I think that it would probably be the same in Stowe. I love 4 seasons. Stowe is such a beautiful area. It would be so nice to go to the resort for a beauty treatment or two or just sit in the hot tub on a cold winter day would make me happy.
I cant belive how big the kitchen is. It looks like a kitchen you would see at a fancy resturant. Who ever is the winner will be verry lucky to have such a big kitchen that they can cook almost anything in. How cool is that? Well my squrell is cold sleeping in the garage , but i hope that she does get use to it. I know that its a lot better than being out side in the real cold. Its so cold if your outside for a minute your hands will be freezing. But i amyself dont mind being too cold. But goodmorning ervery one, and i hope that ervery one is doing well.
There are a few words that come to mind….Amazing! Beautiful! Perfect! and definitely a Dream!!!
I'm curious — does the kitchen have a pantry?? I haven't seen one in any of the pics or videos. Loving every detail of this house! What an exciting change in lifestyle this home and location would be having lived my entire life on the west coast!!
As a professional cook I love the layout and thought behind the pieces in that kitchen. I am all about being efficient and this looks like a dream to cook in. I hope I get the chance to make some meals for my family in there! Love it!
I love that kitchen! Since I do most of the cooking, I'm always running my wife out of the kitchen because it's so small and she just gets in my way (she gets so mad at me). In this kitchen, we could actually work together with the extra space available.
you are welcome zuludog. i hope you enjoy it! i love to cook, enjoy having people over to eat great food. i also love that bedroom, i can relax enjoy the veiw of that room. i love being outside, planting flowers. love my flowers. going for walks, just enjoying all the beauty.
What is there NOT to like about this home. We have never been to Vermont but we want to visit whether we win or not. All the beautiful details that went into this house is AMAZING of course, just like any of the HGTV DreamHome's. Can't wait to get the keys and share it with family for many generations (or so hoping anyway)! Someone is going to be a very lucky person(s), sure hope they enjoy it as much as we have looking at it.
ahhh!! thats awesome!!! i can't wait to move in:))
Love, Love, Love that kitchen…

Vermont, Vermont what a beautiful state. My husbands best friend and best man at his wedding lives there. He is retired military. He was best man at our wedding. We are married 53 year this July. We saw your special and loved all the added features especially kitchen and secret room. We have 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and they all ski or snowboard. Thanks for building such a beautiful place. Caroline
I just watched the HGTV dream home giveaway on t.v tonight, and the kitchen and view really caught my eye, because my husband loves to cook and the space and appliances are the best and I love the great view of the mountains it's breath taking. I also think it's wounderful that the area is so peacefull it's perfect place to live with a growing family. Our family would have everything living in this dream home, and just being blessed with this inspiring home who would see the need for the new car or the money just the home alone is enough. This is really a dream come true!
In the kitchen segment there is a wonderful English style kettle displayed. I have been looking for a kettle just like it for over a year, please let me know where I may find that kettle in the New York City area?
I am so excited to see all the storage in this kitchen. I can finally bake wedding cakes in a real space!!! My apartment is 500sq ft and I just finished a 3 tier cake…it looks like it snowed in there with all the powered sugar..lol. I'll have a home for all my ingredients too! I believe….I believe…I believe… in HGTV!!!
Way to go Gail! Love the kitchen details you shared – would love the referral of a gourmet cooking school to get started on utilizing that beautiful kitchen to its' fullest! Just wondering if there are any tours of the closets that I have missed? If so, can't wait to see them. Also, any ideas on where we could office out of? OMG – I can't stop thinking about this house!!!
COUNTDOWN SAYS 12 Days —- 00:05:04
Can't wait to have guests and visitors in Stowe.. and cook for the crowds that stay overnight !
My kitchen now is nice but does not fit my large family. I sit 3 of my children at our counter top bar and the others at the table with mom and dad for dinner. I can't wait to seat my whole family together at that large table! =-)
Goodmorning everbloggy. Today i feel like its going to be a wounderful day. It is verry windy outside. Its so windy that it feels like my new place is going to blow over. I still am in disbelief , about how huge the kitchen is in this years HGTV dream home. I am glad that the home will be worm, becouse how well the insulation, and the heating floors. I am also verry thankful for all our heavinly father has done for me. I love erverything that the dream team has done with the HGTV dream home. The homes that they build are so perfect in ervery way. I cant wait to go and explore , to see what i can find. Maybe if i am lucky i will find a pair of sheds from a deer. I hope that all the bloggers are doing well. good job dream team.
I really love the layout of this kitchen.
have you seen a pantry?
No pantry, but TONS of storage in all of the cabinets and in the mud room.
The view out the windows look great. It looks like a picture, and with all 4 seasons the view changes each time!
I REALLY LOVE THE LAYOUT OF THE WHOLE HOUSE. GREAT LAUNDRY ROOM! BUT THE KITCHEN IS STILL MY PLACE. CAN'T WAIT TO DO SOME GREAT COOKING!!!!!! I COULD SURE SLEEP COMFY IN THAT BEDROOM. I JUST LOVE THIS HOUSE. IT'S JUST RIGHT FOR ME! AS I LOVE THE SNOW. I'M A WITER PERSON.
I HOPE I SURELY WIN, AS I COULD INVITE MY FAMILY OVER FOR COOKOUTS. NOT FAR FROM MASS. I KNOW THEY WOULD COME! WOULD LOVE TO GET BACK UP NORTH!!!!!!! THE VIEW IS BEAUTIFUL, I COULD ENJOY MY WALKS. I'M ALWAYS WALKING MY DOGS. THEY WOULD LOVE IT TOO!!!!!!!! I HOPE IT'S ME. BUT GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!!!
Goodmorning blogger friends. I do consider all of you my friends. I dont need any ennimies. I love erverything living , including people, animals. Esspecially animals. Last night i drove my chair about 5 miles to the local D and B supply , and i bought my squrell a heating lamp. I dont keep it on all the time. only when i am present, This way i dont cook her up. I have never used a heating lamp before, but i do know when a person has baby chickens. A heating lamp is used to keep baby chicks worm. I pray , and hope this does work. I hope that all is doing well. This HGTV tream home is so beuitifull. The dream team did such a wounderful job building this home. God bless the USA.
I really don't know what to say to this home. I really think they have out done themselves. This is beautiful. I have been entering this sweepstakes since they started. I recently have lost my job and thought how wonderful it would if I could be so blessed to win this home and start life over in a different state. How can anyone not pass up a chance like that. Good Luck to all the entrys because anyone would be blessed to have home like this.
All I can say is "Beautiful". This home is more than anyone can imagine. Im a single mom, who just lost not only her home, but her fiance as well due to tragedy. Having a family of 4, we are crammed into an apartment that has septic fumes. We have no other place to go. I work very hard for an AIDS program and I dont usually wish for vey much in life besides health, which I dont have either, but my children do. I do wish that we would have the joy of having a house to call home. Yes it is a dream, and Im sure we wont be the winners. But its fun to dream. Fun to imagine myself and my family in a beautiful home as this. Good luck to all and many blessings.
Can't you just picture me making a delicious meal for me and my family in that wonderful kitchen? I <3 it!!!!!!!!!!!!
Everything is in perfect order. That gas stove is my dream stove! I'm cooking blueberry pancakes that will be served with grade B Vermont maple syrup. Did you guys see the little Vermont maple leaf cutting board in the still kitchen pictures? What an creative touch! Genius!
