  1. I would have no problem cooking away in that gorgeous kitchen while enjoying the immensely beautiful views; I wouldn't even mind cleaning up afterwards!!!

  3. Home is where the heart is and the kitchen is is the heartbeat. I love how open and inviting the kitchen is! Probably the space where we will be spending a lot of time. My two girls will enjoy learning how to cook in it. I shouldn't leave out my son. He enjoys experimenting with different flavorings in foods. Thanks for the tour and showing us the cabinets. I love all the space and the spice rack!

  4. I have wondered how I could possibly live in the dream house affordably. HOA rules do not allow for B&B rentals. So, why not creatively separate the two floors so that the whole bottom floor could be rented while living on the top floor. Investing in a sink, dishwasher, stove along the barn door wall (move it to the ski poster wall) and build a pocket door closing off the two floors, the “Dream House Vacation Rental” would be highly desirable. In addition, put another driveway in, coming from 108, so that renters can enter the door(s) off the terrace. I figure the total investment cost would be about $75,000, at most, when including resort membership fees. Renting the bottom floor that sleeps 12, with full indoor and outdoor kitchens, separate entrances, hot tub, resort amenities, and laundry facilities would yield enough money to pay property taxes ($2000/month), resort dues ($750/month), and payments on mortgage ($2500/month) needed to cover income taxes. Those monthly expenses as well as insurance and utilities would require income from the rental for about 12 days/month if rented at $700/night. And the rental could be opened up for occasional family visits. Then, in about two years, when the housing market rebounds, sell. What a wonderful two years that could be!!

  5. I did go to church at 10:30 today , then i went down to my appartment , wich i can still accupie until february 5 th. Some one left me a couple of small bags of cans. Then i went dowi to the local mcdonalds were i do pick up all the change on the parking lot. I worked for the same owners for two years when i was in high school. They know me well , and they do respect me alot, and i show them respect also. There is no reason to try and disrespect anyone. If my comment might hurt some one i dont say anything to them. I dont want to hurt there feelings. But today is a good day for all of us bloggers. Good job HGTV dream team

  6. My husband is the chef in the family. It looks like he would love it! It would be so easy to entertain and converse with the entire family while cooking too. Love the seating area attached to the counter. Great for grandkids. It would be a dream come true to win!

  7. these details are fabulous!!! every time a feature was introduced, i thought that's fantastic. then you would introduce another feature and i liked that one even more. they really did think about all the little details. all the pull out shelves and drawers are great to be able to actully see what you have stocked in your kitchen. its so easy for things to get lost in back of cabinets and then they spoil before you use them. these cabinet features would really help to see what you have so you can minimize waist (on top of great functionality).

    • Don't know if this has been asked, but is there a pantry?

  10. I hope I win this house it would really help my family out considering our situation is not the best right now. I kn ow my two kids would love this kitchen, and it would be a blast to be able to cook in it. I think I would have try out local recipes.

  11. Wow! We love this dream house. After reading from victhechic I have to say that I’m a bit discouraged. Is it true that it would be that costly just to live there even winning $500,000? The average American couldn’t withstand the cost. So, if its true why wouldn’t HGTV give away an affordable home to people who really need one? I still want to win it!

Jeannine on February 1, 2011 at 6:27 am
  12. That doogie house in the master bedroom is a great decor complement to the room and not like throwing a pillow or cushins on the floor. Does the pillow cover comes off for washing.
My cat and dog would love to share the little doggie house.

  14. Maybe I have missed it, but was there and answer to the question concerning the glass fronts that rim the tops of the kitchen cabinets under the lighting? Is that more cabinet space?
I love the idea of all those windows and the sliding glass doors out to the deck, but not happy about having my back to it when at the big sink washing up. I would so have to have a big mirror over the sink so I can see the view behind me.

  20. Where I live we just got about 12″ of blowing snow. I think that it would probably be the same in Stowe. I love 4 seasons. Stowe is such a beautiful area. It would be so nice to go to the resort for a beauty treatment or two or just sit in the hot tub on a cold winter day would make me happy.

Jeannine on February 3, 2011 at 7:25 am
  21. I cant belive how big the kitchen is. It looks like a kitchen you would see at a fancy resturant. Who ever is the winner will be verry lucky to have such a big kitchen that they can cook almost anything in. How cool is that? Well my squrell is cold sleeping in the garage , but i hope that she does get use to it. I know that its a lot better than being out side in the real cold. Its so cold if your outside for a minute your hands will be freezing. But i amyself dont mind being too cold. But goodmorning ervery one, and i hope that ervery one is doing well.

  25. I love that kitchen! Since I do most of the cooking, I'm always running my wife out of the kitchen because it's so small and she just gets in my way (she gets so mad at me). In this kitchen, we could actually work together with the extra space available.

All the beautiful details that went into this house is AMAZING of course, just like any of the HGTV DreamHome's. Can't wait to get the keys and share it with family for many generations (or so hoping anyway)! Someone is going to be a very lucky person(s), sure hope they enjoy it as much as we have looking at it.

  32. I just watched the HGTV dream home giveaway on t.v tonight, and the kitchen and view really caught my eye, because my husband loves to cook and the space and appliances are the best and I love the great view of the mountains it's breath taking. I also think it's wounderful that the area is so peacefull it's perfect place to live with a growing family. Our family would have everything living in this dream home, and just being blessed with this inspiring home who would see the need for the new car or the money just the home alone is enough. This is really a dream come true!

Just wondering if there are any tours of the closets that I have missed? If so, can't wait to see them. Also, any ideas on where we could office out of? 44. Goodmorning blogger friends. I do consider all of you my friends. I dont need any ennimies. I love erverything living , including people, animals. Esspecially animals. Last night i drove my chair about 5 miles to the local D and B supply , and i bought my squrell a heating lamp. I dont keep it on all the time. only when i am present, This way i dont cook her up. I have never used a heating lamp before, but i do know when a person has baby chickens. A heating lamp is used to keep baby chicks worm. I pray , and hope this does work. I hope that all is doing well. This HGTV tream home is so beuitifull. The dream team did such a wounderful job building this home. God bless the USA.

  45. I really don't know what to say to this home. I really think they have out done themselves. This is beautiful. I have been entering this sweepstakes since they started. I recently have lost my job and thought how wonderful it would if I could be so blessed to win this home and start life over in a different state. How can anyone not pass up a chance like that. Good Luck to all the entrys because anyone would be blessed to have home like this.

    slddre28 on February 10, 2011 at 9:14 am
  46. All I can say is "Beautiful". This home is more than anyone can imagine. Im a single mom, who just lost not only her home, but her fiance as well due to tragedy. Having a family of 4, we are crammed into an apartment that has septic fumes. We have no other place to go. I work very hard for an AIDS program and I dont usually wish for vey much in life besides health, which I dont have either, but my children do. I do wish that we would have the joy of having a house to call home. Yes it is a dream, and Im sure we wont be the winners. But its fun to dream. Fun to imagine myself and my family in a beautiful home as this. Good luck to all and many blessings.
