The Sun Shines on HGTV Dream Home

We’re nearing the completion of HGTV Dream Home 2012. Our interior designer Linda Woodrum is presently at the home, putting her finishing touches on interior and exterior spaces. Today, I’d like to share a series of photos sent from house planner Jack Thomasson. In dramatic fashion, skies cleared just as delivery trucks arrived with furnishings. At the end of “load-in day”, clouds rolled back in, casting a gorgeous glow on our modern rustic-style ranch home.
Wondering when we’ll reveal pics and videos of the finished interior? Mark your calendars for December 1 when our online virtual tour launches. Then on December 29, at 9 a.m. ET, our giveaway entry period begins. Remember: You can enter twice daily for your chance to win HGTV Dream Home 2012!

Since Stowe is the first DH we have followed, it is fun to go back in time to see what the other DH's look like. We found this video clip to be a lot of fun to watch. Especially liked Monica's surprise. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_TwnRJB4G3s&fe…
Like it. Monica looks good in every outfit, doesn't she?!
You bet, DeerSpring! I love Midway and I love Park City. And I love Utah!
What an amazing house !!! It's huge !!! This would truly be a "DREAM" (house) come true. Would love to live in beautiful Utah in this beautiful house.
This takes my breath away! I'm excited that they are using rock in so many area's of the house. I so want to go home to live and this house would make that possible. Dream ON
While dreaming of building my own home I decided to go to HGTV to check out some floor plans. Well of course Dream Home 2012 floor plan came up and I got that gut feeling that either I was going to win this home or when we do get to build our own "DREAM HOME" that our plan would be somewhat similar. I love this!!! Linda is my favorite designer and I can only imagine just how stunning the interior will be. I am using one of her ideas from a past dream home to build a coffee table out of an old apple bin/crate. We live in apple country, Washington state and I know where to find one:) Again what an amazing home and cant wait until virtual tour!!
oh my gosh when are you going to show us pics and videos and let us tour the inside!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i want to see so bad
Just got back from my nephew's wedding in Park City. We spent a week in the area, and I couldn't figure out exactly where the house is, but from the look of all the information on your site, this is absolutely the best one ya'll have done yet. I am so excited and I am definitely going to win this one!! It would be heaven to live there! Love the floorplan, the area, everything about it!
P.S. LOVE the pictures, Bee…keep 'em coming!
DH Inspiration…..
Cooler Weather here and thoughts of the Dream Home are inspiring me in a unique way.
For some reason, I've been in a "baking" mood. Baked a German Chocolate Cake, Brownies, and a Peach/Pecan Cobbler this weekend. (Gifts, of course) Thinking now about baking something for my Book Club meeting on Wednesday. Got a request from a neighbor to prepare chili for her family. Will start on that today or tomorrow. Already planning Thanksgiving meal.
While I do like to cook, I am not willing to spoil my husband and have him think that I have rescinded my retirement from the kitchen. But the DH conjures up warm, inviting, "comfort food" thoughts and inspires a desire to "cook/bake" for some reason.
I can't wait to see the interior!! I'm so excited!
This house reminds me so much of old western town..very nice.. I hope I win it! the scenery is spectacular! I wonder what's it is like in the winter.
I mistook the 2011 blog cabin that was just given away with this dream home…you guys are awesome that you give so much! When I saw the winner had been announced, my heart sank just a bit, but then I realized my error and my heart perked right back up. It is the great room that just grabs me – it brings to the fore memories of those loved one who are no longer here. I cannot wait to put my name in the hat for this beautiful home…It truly would be a dream come true~! <3
I cant wait to see what Linda does with this one, I bet it tuns out to be the best DH ever!!! One questions though…Where is the half bath located?
I know everyone gets mad when people sell the contest house. But i'll admit that all the other houses before i would have probably sold to move to either Montana or one of the Dakotas but by the looks of this house and location I could see myself living here for life. Very nice!
WOW. this beautiful home and location is a peice of heaven. Thank you to all those involved in making it possible for a family to live a dream come true. good luck to all.
I can't wait to get "inside". Linda always does an incredible job and with this size home….. I'm sure it will be breathtaking. Remember Vermont?? How could we forget. Linda had me right from the start. Every room felt warm & relaxing even though it was an upscale home. Only one thing…. I have to work on "not allowing myself to get too emotionally involved & attached" since my chance of actually winning are quite miniscule. But, I sure will dream & try!! ^_^
It is so beautiful this truly is the home I dream of when I go to sleep at night
I am truly amazed at the awesome grandure of this new Dream Home. Just when I think it can't get any better HGTV just ups and out does themselves again. I am truely in awe of the talent they gather to make each Dream home just that an awesome dream to strive for.
Patchwork Quilt indeed. That is the ugliest house exterior design I have ever seen. It looks like addition after addition, after addittion etc. Too many rooflines. Too much clutter. I can't wait to get inside so I don't have to look at the outside. I'm sure the inside will be beautiful, truly.
Thank you Mary! Wow, I really am in dreamland imagining my 2 kids playing in the enormous yard this gorgeous house has to offer! I definitely could see us happily living in this home and enjoying all of Utah's natural wonders. I plan on logging in twice a day…maybe this time we will be the lucky winners!
I received an email Wednesday 11/9/11 from HGTV about the Dream Home Sneak Peek. It says, "The furniture is in place, and soon we'll start the tour." I expected something new here but it's the same blog from Oct. 6th. What might the definition of 'soon' be? We are all waiting with baited breath.
Perhaps someone can answer this question, does this home have a functional basement?
