A Designer’s Take
Happy Friday!
Today, please pop over to the Design Happens blog to read designer Brian Patrick Flynn’s lovely post about his experience at HGTV Dream Home 2012. He’s spending time at the home site this week, shooting videos that will appear in our online virtual home tour. Plus, you’ll see a sneak-peek picture of the amazing outdoor living room. I believe he’s now as smitten with Utah as I am.

We found this yesterday, Mary — could we have a few interior sneak peeks, please! ^_^
I agree with you, a few sneak peeks would be nice.
Mary, we know this already but thanks anyway. A little bit more, please? How about a peek at that bunk room. We want to know if it is one room or two. Pretty please, Miss Mary? Enquiring minds and all that. We really want to know.
Hi beehivestate, I have an enquiring mind also about the dh house too and it looks like you live close so I thought I would ask you, do you know if it is going to be in a HOA subdivision with the HOA fees? Where it is on 2 lots do you think they would just slightly increase the HOA fee on the dream house or just keep it at a one lot fee? I am new here and it looks like you know your stuff. Sure is a beautiful home this year.
I'm pretty sure there will be HOA fees, we did see earlier that they had CCR's (somebody found and posted them online for us). The lots 5 and 6 were legally re-combined to be lot 5A so perhaps the HOA fees would be just for one lot. I'm guessing. We had snow last night, the roads are clear but the grass is all covered, it's sure pretty! Welcome to our little blog! Are you in AZ?
BTW, we notice there is a third house on the River Meadows Ranch property, on the upper part with the gorgeous views, and there is a fourth home being built on the upper lots also. It's a good day to drive down there and get a picture, I'll get dressed and go do that.
Initially Amy Fay is a housewarming retailer selecting the gifts to be voted on December 1 for the
Utah Dream Home. If you have any opinions, now is the time to let her know.
http://www.initiallyamyfay.com/blog/
Thanks, Mary and CplusE! One outdoor room revealed, four more to go! I can't wait!
What lovely gift items. I like several of her things.
I haven't had a chance to look at the accessories but hope to do this later today, Bee!
I need to look more closely, I didn't realize exactly what I was looking for.
I recognize several items for the Blog Cabin housewarming. It will be interesting to
see what is offered!
Bee, I visited the site. A person on the blog expressed a desire for local items to be used
in a comment to Amy. Amy agreed and said definitely made in the USA. She also mentioned
that last year, L. L. Bean sponsored sports equipment when the same person inquired
about fishing gear, etc.
LLBean would be nice but it's sure not local. I don't know who's local that makes fishing equipment, for example, but maybe in Park City. OH, maybe it's "local" back east for the Stowe house, though.
Well for those of you who found this yesterday, congratulations. lol But this is the first time I got to see it as I had to work evenings yesterday. I loved the picture. Can't wait to see more. It is not very long until we get to see it all. I can't wait. Really loving this home. As I do every other one lol.
I have a cross stitch wall hanging that says something about 'friends are like quilts, always warm and comforting!' If I put that on my front door, do you think it will raise my chances of winning our Dream Home? The "Law of Attraction" kind of thing???
I guess it is worth a try!
Yes, I think that will be a plus! The other thing, if you HAVE a quilt, get it out and use it. If you don't, cut out a picture of a quilt and look at it often.
I DO have one. It's pink!!!! I don't know where it is for sure. I know it's in a plastic bag with a zipper on it! It was put somewhere when we moved and haven't gotten it out.
I looked downstairs in all the boxes and didn't find it. I looked in the kids' rooms and in their closets and didn't find it. I looked in MY closet and couldn't find it. Oh, I wish it would magically appear along with the bedspread afghan my mother made me a long time ago. She would be very upset if I lost that!!
Now that it's on your mind, I'm sure it will “come” to you, probably in your sleep. Meanwhile, don't store quilts in plastic, a cotton pillowcase is best. They need to breathe.
Ok, sorry. I didn't know. Good news though!!! I found my mom's huge afghan and I hung the wall hanging on my front door. But I have not found my quilt yet.
Good start. Now you can stop looking and let the quilt come to you.
Yes, ma'am.
I'd love to sit out there on the porch with a hot cup of coffee and my laptop, whiling away the hours writing.
Ditto!!
Perfect………an outdoor living space that takes advantage of the spectacular Utah mountain scenery. I can't wait to see more when the virtual tour takes place in December.
DITTO!
Thanks for the new post,It looks very nice.
the quiet i can hear it from here! must have must have!
The photo of the beautiful Provo River makes me wonder how the sounds change with the seasons. Relaxing peacefully on the outdoor living area of the Dream Home, does the water's constant song reflect the ebb and flow of summer's heat and winter's rains, from babbling brook to chattering creek, then a softly sonorous stream, and once again becoming a powerful and proud rushin' river? The eternal circle of life.
I'm willing to be chosen to participate, especially in this Dream Home That's More Than Midway to Paradise!
From what I've noticed, the sound is the same year-round b/c of the water level controlled by the two dams, one at each end. One of the best things about the proximity to the river is the sound. Our last home was on a little creek and, after awhile, the sound becomes a little background that just relaxes everything.
I'm sure, as you say, that the water level in the Provo remains relatively stable throughout the year. I was just dreaming — imagining myself out on that outdoor patio — and so the poetic license.
Oh well, I'll happily "settle" for a distant lullaby from the river that's somewhere between a babbling brook and a rushin' river. As a matter of fact, any description will do — as long as the lucky winner is no one other than … DB Coop!
It's only fair. Someone Else has had all the luck so far, and now it's my turn, at least according to my interpretation of the laws of probability. Unless of course I've got the formula confused with Murphy's Law, which could be the case. ^_^
Dream on, after all, it IS the dream home. I'll save you a tractor seat in front of Scrappy's.
A tractor seat at Scrappy's will do just fine. As a matter of fact, if I win the Dream Home, it'll be my treat….
We voted on Amy Fay gifts for our Blog Cabin, they are ALL lovely. It sure will be fun to vote on them this Dec.!
I just love that the designers are Smitten Kittens when they work with this house. Thanks, BPF, for reinforcing what we already know about this special home — it's amazing!
Every year at Soldier Hollow is an event called "Soup & Soldier Hollow" to raise money for the young Olympic hopeful athletes for cross-country skiing. We've attended, it's fun, for $20 you get a commemorative mug and a chance to go around and sample soups. The best restaurants in the area bring their specialties. After that, they have an auction with wonderful items such as outdoor gear, night packages for the Blue Boar Inn, Homestead, etc., great stuff! http://www.utahnordic.com/node/1170 It's held at the Soldier Hollow Lodge in Charleston.
This would be an awesome charity to donate the proceeds from the DH tours this year.
Brilliant idea–and soup is perfect for the temperature changes…..nothing else I'd want to sample right now–not wine, not even chocolate…just hot soup.
We were out walking through Midway City yesterday all afternoon and stopped at the Fill 'er Up Coffee Station for hot chocolate because it was sooo cold. Ended up getting hot coffee and pastries. It was really a fun day, we took lots of pictures and came home tired!
DAILY BUZZ. SATURDAY MORNING SNOWY DREAM HOME! http://www.flickr.com/photos/67137540@N05/sets/72…
I woke up excited to drive down and see our home in snow. There wasn't much snow but there was still alot of activity in front, a dozen or so cars plus the security man. He waved to me this time when I drove down and past him on the round-about. I was on my way to the Heber Coffee Station and I almost stopped and asked him if he'd like me to pick up a brew for him while I was at it.
I can see blue furniture covers on both decks and I can see the back of the curtains that Linda placed on the SW deck. This is just a small set of pictures, it won't take you long to look, if you're curious, that is!
You will never guess what happened to me today!
When we took a break from "walking trail" building, we went to the widow's house and I walked in and immediately thought of you!!!
She is a quilt maker!!! She stitches by hand! There were so many quilts, I couldn't count them all. Oh, you should have seen them all!!! Some on the chair, some folded on a piece of antique furniture, one in a frame, and one she was working on that was attached to a quilting wood thingy. The thing that holds your quilt in place so you can stitch front ways and from the back. It was so cool!!!
I was in AWE!!! So so pretty!
That "thing" was an old-fashioned quilt frame for hand quilting. I love your day!
Yes, that's it!!!
bee, you gave us every perspective ! The DH is so pretty in the snow. Maybe that waving security guy is the opposite of Leroy Brown… make a sign on cardboard that he can read from a distance, asking," Would you like me to pick up some coffee for you ?" and see what happens, LOL.
I was thinking of being very open about it, just pulling my car up by his car, rolling down the window as I wave my coffee mug, and say “I'm going for coffee, can I bring you one back?”
Perfect idea. I am so curious to know if he ever mentioned Bee to any HGTV people or visa versa.
When I talked to the SECURITY man in Stapleton, he had no idea about HGTV at all. He just
worked for the security firm and was doing a job!
I'm sure they don't have a clue about me, Sandy. I'm just a curious neighbor. I think the security guy knows this house, though, and knows about HGTV.
I still think it is a good idea to bring him a cup of coffee or hot cocoa! We have to make friends whenever and wherever!!!
Thanks, Bee. "Rain, nor snow or sleet" will keep you away from taking pictures of the DH!
I have this picture in mind of you all bundled up walking up the hillside to
get another panorama view. How was the "Soup and Soldier Hollow" event?
Oh I made a mistake, Soup and Soldier Hollow is the 11th, this coming Friday. I asked my DH and he said yes, he wants to go to it, the auction should be fun. We had way more snow overnight, I was surprised to get up this a.m. and see it… so pretty. We went out for a long long walk yesterday, all through Midway City, and took pictures of houses, farms, the “rural fabric,” it was so much fun.
I also woke excited to see our D.H.in the snow.. thanks to you I didn't have to drive there from OHIO to see it. (Great minds think alike.) The Dream Home looks dreamy in the snow!
We had even more snow last night, surprised me to see it. I want to see the DH when it's really really white over all the fields.
IT might be a great time to offer to get SECURITY some coffee ….to help him stay warm in the snow. You could get some good pictures after he has his coffee & you are on your way home.
Thanks for the update. It looks like they took the black curtains down — now I can see somebody standing inside! LOL
Really? lol

It seems that the Homestead Resort in Midway will be closing for renovations from mid-December until April. The golf course will stay open for snowshoeing and the crater will remain open for scuba diving, so come on up here and see how beautiful it is in winter.
This is a tribute to Andy Rooney, really liked him. May he rest in peace. http://www.in.com/videos/watchvideo-andy-rooney-o…
Love it! I heard it said that if Bill Gates was Henry Ford, your car would stop right in the middle of the road for absolutely no reason.
Thanks, Alice and Soney! I really enjoyed Andy Rooney too — I'm going to miss him. I spent some time this morning on YouTube watching some of his old episodes. This is one of my favorites:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tun9EBKOYqI&fe…
I'm embarrassed to admit that I have a lot of those same gadgets, and don't use them either! xD
Who knew that he had written for so many early tv stars ? He packed in a lot in his long career; not only his 60 Minutes gig.
I may be a little behind the curve on this, but I just noticed that on the Dream Home main page, Mary has posted a "quick vote" presenting the following challenge: Time to build a Dream Home in? There are 4 choices, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania (I wonder if Mary has been sneaking in votes here? Just kidding, Mary!), Hawaii, or Georgia.
I went out on a limb, and for the first time in the blogs (yeah, right!), here and now state my intention to officially cast my vote for Hawaii.
Hawaii, by the way, leads the vote with 39% at this point. I just hope that Mary uses the Jack T contact hotline to advise him of the results. After all, it's bound to happen one of these days — a Hawaiian Dream Home that is, and the sooner the better for tropical paradise lovers.
Hawaii no ka 'oi
Since the Green Home is already in GA, I am wondering why it comes in 2nd to Hawaii at 28%? Maybe someone is thinking of coastal areas or Sea Islands area ?
Of course there's always the charm of Savannah, but there are many beautiful areas in the state of Georgia, both coastal and inland. You have to give a nod to Mary's favorite spot too, Pennsylvania.
So while not everyone's on board with Hawaii, I'm hoping that Jack's seriously considering a surfing safari in the not too distant future.
Based on comments about previous polls, I think a lot of people want to live somewhere warm but not too far away from family – of the four choices given, Georgia is the best option for this. Hawaii is still my first choice, though, because I think my family and friends would be happy to visit me there as often as possible, especially for the holidays! ^_^
Coop, you and I must be on the same wavelength, because I've been thinking about Hawaii lately too! I'll bet Jack T. is about ready for a tropical vacation — even Georgia has turned cold, so a warm tropical locale would probably sound pretty good to him right now. I'm sure he would be happy to fly out to Hawaii and scout out sites for a potential DH 2013! Go for it, Jack! xD
Yes ,Hawaii would be great; however the cost to get there is much to much for most of us!!
That vote has been there for awhile. I keep voting for Hawaii but the percentage doesn't change!
Speaking of Hawaii. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nnq2Z2Iu9S4&fe…
What outside dining or living – what ever? Is Mary talking about that little corner of a picture? You
guys are getting soft! Thank you Mary for that? Come on demand to see a whole picture! You are
acting as though you are all slowed down here. Wake up every one !!!!! wake up and smell the r…..
snow, get invigorated, jump up and down. Show HGTV that we are here and wanting MORE. If they
cannot show us full shots, then a whole bunch of corner shots will have to do.
Oh, you do tempt me to hop the fence and photograph the back yard, SandyLA!
Are there any signs in the back of the house or by the river to keep out? Hush….I am whispering this so that no one else will hear. If there is no sign,JUMP!!
Sandy, I was there just now and I have pix! Wait a minute, I have Lars on my lap now and it's hard to type.
And I have my female cat Ruby asleep on my lap.
I still believe in not waking sleeping babies or animals!!
We used to have a little black cat called Max. When he wanted to go outside, he'd run to the door, run back across the room, and do that a few times over until we figured out what the heck he wanted.
SandyLA,D.H.Is not like Blog Cabin. H.G.T.V. picks what goes inside&Linda decorates.(TheBloggers don't) There is only around two shows for our Dream Home& alot more for the B.C.on D.I.Y.!!
Thank you for telling me that. I was not aware of the difference. You see no matter how long
we are here, we keep learning new things. Angelwys, I am sorry that I am unable to follow more
than one blog eventhough I am on two already. It is difficult enough and I just cannot follow it
all! :S
Oooh,Ididn't mean to make you feel sorry. In fact they do string us along (you are right!)to get us to view their shows.I can follow more than one blog because I don't have kids at home.Learning something new is what I'm working on ;Like short blogs are not always the best. Thanks ,Ways
Ways, don’t worry about me. I am the tortoise –Slow and steady. I will get there in my own time!
I don't know if you Mrs. Bee posted this before or someone else, if so, sorry. Thought the ice castles were really beautiful and it reminds me of the glaciers in Alaska with the blue and turquoise colors. And it was right in downtown Midway, Utah. What a beautiful state you live in Mrs. Bee. Seattle isn't half-bad today and yesterday, very balmy no coats needed weather. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ar4D8ibvU54&fe…!
Hi Alice, the Midway ice rink is already open at the Town Park and as soon as it is cold enough, they will probably start up the ice castles. I want to check it out this year and I'll let you know. The rink and castles are right across from the little bakery on Town Square, right in the middle of everything close. The pictures are sure pretty! Thank you.
I drove up last year to see the Ice Castle. It was very impressive. And then we ate at the little place on Main Street that has wood-fired pizzas. Yummy!
That would be the Galleria, across from The Store.
Hi Alice, I went by there this a.m. after voting and the skating rink is open but it's too soon for the ice castles. It's nothing but green lawn on that spot right now but I did see, across, the street, a beautiful old homestead that had a historic marker dating from 1882. When the leaves fall a little bit more, I'm going to get a picture for us. Since I've been blogging with all of you dear people, I've learned so much about my area and have really gotten interested in the historical stuff. It's very addictive!
Oh… These creations are so beautiful. Thanks for sharing…..
I can't wait until they get going this year and I'm for sure going to "do it" and take pictures!
BeaUTiful!!!! I can't wait to see them in person!
Found this very pretty song about Hawai'i. Everytime I see advertising on the bus or light rail or someone is talking about Hawaii I think of you Cami. I hope you and your family are well. We know you are so busy with school and family. Just wanted to know how you are doing. Do you get snow in your neck of the woods? How was your garden this year? Anyway this song is dedicated to you Cami and all the other Hawaiian dreamers out there. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ETiR6WXIwvA&fe…
I enjoyed the Hawaii video, alicesoneysmom. However, as a result, I now have Aloha fever, hotter than a pepper sprout. I've been thinkin' about Kauai ever since your comment came out!
In the meantime, here I am stuck in Phuket Paradise for another good week. Stuck? Wait a minute, it's kind of like Hawaii after all, with wide white-sand beaches, turquoise waters, swaying palms and lush jungle…and those afternoon showers followed by rainbows and warm sun and blue skies. Not to forget, by any means, those incredible sunsets across the Andaman Sea. So, except for the low prices, great Thai food everywhere, and the clear absence of any hula music (or lovely hula dancers), it's practically like being in Hawaii. Okay, I don't feel quite so bad about not being in Hawaii right now.
At least I'll get a brief taste of the real Hawaii next week as I stopover in Oahu once again on my way back to a now very cool S CA.
Aloha, and Sawasdee krup!
Oh, and one last thing, alicesoneysmom, do you think you could forward the Hawaiian YouTube video on to Jack T, just in case he needs a gentle reminder of where to focus his search for the next Dream Home?
Thank you Alice, I enjoyed that. With all the 'goings on' in my life Hawaii seems further away now, more than ever. I hope Jack has more faith in the Hawaiian dream than I do. I haven't given up on Dream Maker Jack or Hawaii, I'm just ??? I don't know what to call it.:|
Maybe HGTV have purchased a white Denali this year, because they have had a darker color the last few times, haven't they?
Just a thought.
Well, I was just there and I did see a couple of white SUV's but I think the give-away car is black. Just a guess. See if you can tell by my Daily Buzz pictures from this morning.
I'm with BHS, because she kept seeing a black SUV nearly posing in front of the house and also in the garage.
I thought that there was no car this year as the house is so big. Does it say so in the post of the
contest?
I think blue accents should be distributed throughout our home, due to the color of the outside and the sky. Since you can see the sky from every room in the house because of all the wonderful windows in our home!!!
I love the picturesque scenery of where the house is situated and the state of Utah. Now that everyone is smitten with the views, I can't wait to see more clips and photos. That photo of the outdoor living room was a tease, because the sunset's casting shadows. I can see the rod and curtain, but we need a less avant garde view.
Did they do the Western Den in blue too? Blue with white, peach and browns are a complimentary mix. I bet the blue theme is the most flattering color with all the mix of views.
DAILY BUZZ. MONDAY. 11/7. Pace yourselves, everybody! Here are some pictures of the back. Rather than tell you what new things I saw, see for yourself and LMK what they are. Look closely, not all the windows are black out. Somebody was inside the house today, I didn't go all the way up to the fence line for pictures and a few are blurry but I wanted you to look inside like I did. Have fun! http://www.flickr.com/photos/67137540@N05/sets/72…
One thing I just saw was that the light fixtures off the game room deck are different. Looking back, I see they were changed out before Load-in Day.
BTW, it's windy and cold, overcast and in the low 30's but most of the snow is gone. Sorry I didn't get all the pictures in one group, Larson was "helping," here are the rest, etc. http://www.flickr.com/photos/67137540@N05/sets/72…
I'm so glad they changed out the lights!!! and hung the curtains on the patio!!!
I actually liked the old style of lights better, they were very characteristic of what you'd see in Park City. I guess not “modern” enough to make the cut, though.
Please don't be out taking precarious snapshots in windy, 30 degree weather on bloggers' behalf !!
We already appreciate just hearing about the Midway goings-on and news about your family.
Aahhh– I am liking the roof ridge vents and the solar panels !! Thank you as always.
In spite of the cold, it was a pretty nice day yesterday and I doubt we will get more of them. It won't be long until the virtual tours are posted and then you'll see it all anyway and you won't need Lars and me. It's 29 degrees this morning and no snow predicted until the weekend.
Yay!! Solar Panels!!!
I knew you'd say that !
LOL!! You are SO smart!!
In your "hiding from Leroy Brown" shot, I hadn't noticed the house they are building halfway up that hill before. Oh, well, the views can't be perfect everywhere, can they? (but almost). I haven't been paying attention, apparently, because I didn't know about the solar panels until I saw your photos. I like the idea, and they aren't ugly, so good job, HGTV, on that green aspect. I'm sure solar has been mentioned, but I hadn't clued in until now. Thanks, Midway and Lars, for the great photos!
Hi Wyoming, that building has a real barn-style architecture. And the other house on the upper hill has it's own barn as well. I was wishing HGTV would do that so there could be a studio or a workshop. It's beautiful down by the river these days, I did see a couple fishermen. The path provides easy access right to the back of the house and it's still dry.
The solar panels surprised me, I was glad to see them. It makes sense.
Each time you share pictures of this home, I fall more deeply in love with it and Heber Valley. Even though I have visited Utah, I have never before been exposed to its unique, natural beauty. Thank you so much for not only what you have done for the DH, but what you have done for the state of Utah. Even if I do not win the DH, I will visit Utah again and perhaps, again (if God wills).
I hope you do come to Utah, it is the most amazing place. Yesterday down by the river, even in the cold, the grasses and how they wave in the wind, the sounds, the scents… it's all the ideal setting for the beautiful HGTV Dream Home. As I took the picture where the grass obscures most of the house, I thought to myself how lucky I was to see it.
Hi Bee,Great pictures as always.Thank you & do be careful! P.S. Is the grass higher than the feance&
Yes, the grass is still higher than the fence but it will die back soon as we have snow.
O.K.Here in OHIO we cut our grass (thatsclouse to the house so snakes ect. can't hide in it)I guess it is to cold for the wildlife to be out &I'm glad you had a good place to hide to get great pictures.
They should cut those tall, wavy grasses down now, for winter. In our neighborhood, they were trimmed a couple weeks ago. I plan to go one more time for pictures back there before the virtual tours.
Woo Hoo Beehivestate!!!
If you would be in the house Bee, would you be able to see the snowcapped mountains that you
showed in your picture? Also I love that you caught the neighbors house being built. It gives us
a sense of how far away they are! You are such a fabulous photographer, it would not surprise
me if HGTV would ask to use a couple of yours; or at least you gave them ideas of what would
look good for their brochures! I mentioned that I thought they would be filming for the virtuals!!!
Hi Sandy, you asked about view of the mountains… Timpanogos you could see from the back deck or guest room windows if looking to the SW. There are other mountains pretty much all around the home, I'd say you have view from any window and mountains mountains mountains wherever you look!
I love the mountains mountains mountains!!!
Yesterday in Kansas, the air was cold and crisp. It made me imagine I was at our house with my eyes closed breathing in the mountain air! Wish I was there now.
:'(
Thank you so much for the great pictures our house looks wonderful. I also want to thank you for updating the pictures so often because we have to wait a long time for another blog, you on the other hand keep us all happy with the newest pictures I am so happy that if any of us wins we will be thrilled to have such a great neighbor as yourself.
BLESS YOU, albbora. I was thinking I'm becoming a picture “junkie!”
That's ok. We appreciate you!!!!
beehivestate, I love how you always do a caption. It makes all the difference. Thanks for all you do.
Could not see photos at this site. Help!
I see on Bee's picture what looks to me to be three cars that are covered up. Are they sleeping in our
home? They would need more than just the sockies on their shoes, they would need fullbody suits!
I used to sing in choirs and I also was a semi-professional folk dancer so I love all the shows on TV
which show these events. I see more of the demonstrative arts around and feel so happy that so many
of the youth of today are partaking in them. Last night I watched "Sing – Off" and a group of young men
from Provo (I love them) found themselves in the top five. They sang acapella(sp.?)-no music; some
sing the melody in harmony and others become the percussion instruments with their voices and mics.
They look like such a clean cut group of young men and they treat each other so beautifully!! A lesson
to be learned. Sing and Dance everyone – great for the soul!
If it was from Provo, they're probably students at BYU… practically everything in Provo/Orem is "clean cut."
We are watching The Sing Off as well. My 19 yo daughter loves it and yes, those boys are from BYU. They are called "Vocal Point" and now that school is in session (as far as the filming of the TV show), they are flying back and forth to do school and sing. I loved their Elvis song last week.
Bee – I second all the posts regarding our gratitude for your frequent photos and updates. Waiting for the virtual tour would be killer if not for you. Please, please keep up the great work!!
You're welcome!
I just remembered this little poem from Mary Engelbreit:
"We must dance and we must sing. We are blessed by everything. Everything we look upon is blessed!"
Aren't we all just blessed by this whole process? I think it's just too much fun!
Love your attitude sweetie.
I anticipate it being more fun as we get closer to "the time!!"
Can't wait for more revealing of our house!!
Dear Mary and Beehivestate,
Thank you for the beautiful photos that show how wonderful this home and property are. The winner will be truly blessed.
This morning while out photographing old houses, I saw this front porch in Heber. I didn't see the inscription on the door until I looked at the picture on the computer: http://www.flickr.com/photos/67137540@N05/sets/72…
That's short and to the point!!!
Also a good rule!
Well Guy's, The flood home was ramsacked things were gone but, what the………/…. we can buy new stuff, it certainly is a pain in the … . I'm happy with the new post . At least I have something to look forward too, love to read the blogs, when I can.
I guess someone else needed it more than you, huh? And that's right, you can buy new stuff!!
MaryPA, you are always in my thoughts….I cannot believe you have more things to deal with– but I love Brenda's comment & perspective. What kind of situation is someone in, what mindset to have in order to ransack a flooded out home ?
Sorry to hear your bad news. At least you have a really good attitude. Bless you.
I'm not sure how to say this. But, first, I am very sorry for your loss. In this life, it seems that each of us loses things of great value to us. Many times, part of the legacy of such situations is an opportunity for future blessings for others and ourselves. I do not believe that a thief will be blessed for stealing, but I do believe (and have experienced) that you will overcome this tragedy, be blessed as a result of it, and perhaps, bless others because of your experience.
Beautifully said, gran, and enormously comforting wisdom. <3
3 more weeks until we get to see the pics, videos and virtual tour!? Omgosh…It's going to feel like Forever! I thought I was in love with the Vermont home last year, but I already know this one is going to Top it for sure
Oh, MaryPA! I can't imagine how badly you and Hubby must feel after this added invasion of your property. Some people are so calloused and selfish they cannot see beyond their nose tips. My heart really goes out to you. It happened to me too, when I was flooded in 1979. Why does this world have such cruelty, I wonder?
Thank you SandyLA and Bee for mentioning this group of beautiful young men and Wishingforit for telling us the name of the group Vocal Point. Want to add to this song the men and women who died to make this country free. Tomorrow is Veteran's Day so take time out and give a salute to the Veterans of our great country. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xw_XaTFYH6Q&fe…
Glad you posted that, it was good. Thanks Alice.
Your welcome Bee and thank you for all your beautiful pictures. We go back and look at them often. The pictures are so pretty but the fact that you are there in person and telling us a story along with the pictures gives chills up and down my spine just like a beautiful song. You and C&E take such great pictures. I took a picture of Soney but now I have to figure out how to transfer it to the computer. Thanks again for all you do.
Alice, you are using your camera… breakthrough!! Get the cord that came with the camera. Put the wide end into a slot on the back of the computer (or the side, depending) and put the little end into the slot on the bottom of the camera. The computer will ask you what you want to do, you can transfer the picture, then delete the picture off the camera, all while you are plugged in to the camera-computer cord. Let me know how you do. I'm looking forward to your success!! When all else fails, get the instruction book out and read it lol.
It might be easier if you just do it for her, Beehivestate!!!
lol
Well, I must confess, my DH had to show me how because I was a little bit intimidated. Once I tried it myself, I was off and running. I'm sure Alice can figure it out or ask a young friend to show her the first time. That's what I would do.
Seems all the younger kids know all you need to know about technology these days!
I think by the time Lars gets old enough for a smart phone, I will need to get one so I don't embarrass him with my Motorola “Razr” ala 2007 vintage. If only the service plans weren't so expensive I'd do it now.
You are so funny Brenda lost the instructions to the camera and didn't have the heart to tell my son. Will figure it out soon thanks to you guys!
Awwww….. lol I'm sorry you lost the instructions. See Beehive!! I told you she needs your help!
Hope you get it working soon Alice!
A hug for good luck!
I've been silently following this blog with all it's comments for some time now, and I've come to the point where I just can't hold my excitement anymore! I can't wait to see more photos of the house, it's such an amazing location and no doubt will be breathtaking! Can't wait for the contest to begin!!!!
Welcome to our blogging family, KlavFamily!!! Sometimes, ok, lots of times, we talk about other things besides "our house," as you know. So you are free to chime in at any time for comments, questions, or concerns!!!
We have been having the most beautiful sunny weather here in Seattle. This song came to mind early this morning. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDC5xQVks5U&fe…
I like that song!! Thank you for posting it Alice!
The weather is sunny, cold — 47 right now at mid-afternoon — but just up the canyon here in SLC, two ski resorts just opened up. And they'll probably get new snow courtesy of Mother Nature this weekend.
They've been making snow for two weeks at least, the runs are all white and the snow making machines are running day and night. It's 54 degrees today but will be cold again tonight. Real pretty in Park City and Midway.
Lucky!!
New post from Mary New Info to Chew On!
Miss Bee, Are the hives covered in snow this a.m.?If it's not to bad out& you go for coffee please take some pic.s of the snow for us.Sunny & 58 today in OHIO!
Seriously? Park City has 2 seasons.. Snow.. and NO Snow. I live in Utah and that part of the state is beautiful when there is no snow.. which can happen about 3 or 4 months out of the year.. Good luc!
