What Would You Ask the Winner?

Say you don’t win the HGTV Dream Home 2009. I know, it’s a long shot, but let’s just say your name isn’t pulled out of the proverbial hat in early March. What question would you want most to ask the winner? Don’t answer too quickly. Put on your reporter’s cap and think about it for a bit. We’re looking for your most creative queries (but nothing too outlandish) that we can ask the winner immediately after he or she is given the good news. We’ll turn the interview into a video that will be posted on this very blog. Give it some thought and post your best questions below.

Oh, and by the way … you only have a few more hours to enter. Please encourage your friends, neighbors, relatives, acquaintances and co-workers to enter too!

A Look at the Powder Room

Good morning, bloggers!

Just to clarify, there is a powder room on the first floor of the HGTV Dream Home 2009 (and below is a picture taken from the 90-second tour video to prove it).

MicheleC, the pendant lights in the study are called Starry Night Dark Amber Tech Lighting Mini Pendants. I think they look great too.

Eric, you were seeking some more detailed information about the construction of the flower beds. Steve Ledson’s son built the beds from lumber. They were painted with Sherwin-Williams® paint to match the house and lined on the inside with a thick layer of Visqueen. Visit the Garden photo gallery for more information.

Got a product question? Check out the photo galleries - you may find the answer there. The HGTV Dream Home 2009 galleries feature detailed descriptions of each room and fabulous photos you won’t find elsewhere on the site.

The fun continues …

Tour the HGTV Dream Home in Sonoma

Good morning, bloggers!

I have been a busy bee this week tracking down answers to some of your questions. Most importantly, you can enter via mail and online and, yes, you and other members of your family can enter!

Here we go with other questions:

*The porch light is called Guild Hall Two-Light Exterior Pendant and was purchased on a shopping trip to nearby Santa Rosa.

*The chrome diamond-plate automotive tape used by Kim Myles in the kids’ room came from Pep Boys and is offered in a few different sizes.

*And to answer the heating system questions, we have two HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) units at the HGTV Dream Home 2009. Both are considered high-efficiency units and are manufactured by Lennox. The A/C is electric, the heating is natural gas.

I am also very excited to announce formally (you bloggers are always ahead of me) that there will be a tour offered of the HGTV Dream Home 2009. See details here. See you there. :)

New Blog Coming Soon!

Hi all, it’s Mary here. You may have noticed the “All-New HGTV.com” postings on the site in recent days. We’re working on a major makeover of the site that will include new and improved blogs. This blog will be inactive for just a few days as we put the finishing touches on the new HGTV Dream Home blog. Check back on Friday when we relaunch with new posts, videos and more treats. If you bookmarked the main page of this blog, don’t fear. The link will still work just fine. Once we’re back online, let us know what you think and then bookmark our new blog so you never miss a single post.

The video I promised we’d post on Monday should appear on Friday. I think you’ll really enjoy what Jack and Linda consider the best HGTV Dream Home moments of all time.
