I believe all the clues fit its in tradition in Port Saint Lucie Florida I saw a house the other day that I believe could be the Green House
Got another guess, from some of the clues on scrabble board it has to be in southren Florida. The board listed listed such clues as breeze, crab, movies and so froth. Most movies were made in Miami Beach and South Beach. South beach is 2hrs.and 6min from Orlanda. My guess is South Beach this is just another mybe.
I’m thinking panhandle, near Port St. Joe’s.
I have revised my position yet again. The 2009 HGTV Green Home is somewhere between Clearwater and St Petersburg Florida with a waterfront view of either the Gulf of Mexico or Tampa Bay.
I vote for Holmes Beach on the Gulf Side
The 2009 HGTV Dream House is going to be built in or around Orlando Florida. If you look at the last clue about the population & search the Florida area it comes up Orlando. The population numbers used were from the 2007 cenus.
My guess is Tampa Bay.
I’ve been bouncing back and forth between Sarasota and Tampa Bay because each county they’re in (Sarasota and Hillsborough) provide incentives for green projects in Florida. I’m guessing Tampa because the earliest Florida films are 1898 “newsreels” of U.S. troops in Tampa during the Spanish-American War which might relate to the scrabble board clues. Plus, Apollo Beach on Tampa Bay has an all-green community development called Waterset(water being a clue) and Mira Bay which is a community with direct access to the Gulf (shares a body of water w/New Orleans clue) … both being built by Newland Communities. Apollo is the Greek God of sunlight. So, maybe Tampa Bay!
Anywhere in the Sunshine State works for me.
Aleta – I thought about Crystal River too because it’s in the area where the Cross Florida Barge Canal project connects the Gulf to the Atlantic (it was cancelled for environmental reasons) but I don’t think it’s as “green” as the Tampa/Sarasota area.
Hey Guys, What if its 2 hours by airplane?? Where would that take you?
My guess is Lake Istokpoga. It is a two hour drive from Orlando.
Have A Scent-Sational Day Everyone!
I think it is somewhere around Lake George even though it is not ont the coast Silver Springs is close by and alots of movies was filmed there the Tarzan movies etc. There is also a park there where they have the glass bottom boats. Also the canal is in that area too where they had barges Lake George is known for Blue Crab fishing. It could also be around St. Augustine thats on the coast
Clearwater Beach
Just wondering, why you always have these on the East Coast….I enter and enter and you never come to the West Coast…..or do you?
I believe it is Fernadina Beach fl on Amelia Island…Mary
what about Vero Beach? It’s within the 2 hour limit -
1. Cedar Key
2. Terre Verde
3. Anna Maria
Cedar Key would have been the end of the barge route, had french pirates, and was a watering hole for the spanish (levy county). It has a beach community, is on the water approx 2 hours from Orlando. It also would have been the end of the Cross Florida Barge System. Cedar Key is an enviornmental Refuge/Preserve area.
St Augustine
Well maybe somewhere in a city? But that would be hard to make a green home.A giant penthouse? WHO KNOWS!!!!!!!!!
i think it is marco island florida
I think it is some place near the South Bay Fla. area. In the pictures the sun sets in the west and the water was on the west side.
I guess is some place near Stuart, Fl. Maybe, Jenson Island. There is a barge canal that crosses Florida here., two hours from Orlando.
clue 7: still sticking with florida, but now narrowed to west coast of florida
My guess is Cross Florida. That is where the barge was halted and the land changed to a recreation and conservation area and given the offical name Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida GREENWAY.
Sarasota is 2 Hour 12 Min.
That,s my guess
I’m guessing the Harmony community in Central Florida. It’s a green community, within 2 hours of Orlando – and- it’s right on Buck Lake – remember that first clue wasn’t all Oceanview homes….
I lived in Fla. for 16 yrs.I think its St.Lucia.Iloved Fla.
Now I know where it is and I would absolutely love to live in Tradition and be close to the METS stadium! My family needs a home.
What a great place!!! We wish the winner all the best. Today history was made with Barack Obama. It gives us hope for the future not just to win houses like this, but to have the resources to purchase our own. God Bless.
My family would love to win a house someday and I hope this is it but if it’s not then good luck to the winner.
Has anyone guessed Sebastian?
