  2. Got another guess, from some of the clues on scrabble board it has to be in southren Florida. The board listed listed such clues as breeze, crab, movies and so froth. Most movies were made in Miami Beach and South Beach. South beach is 2hrs.and 6min from Orlanda. My guess is South Beach this is just another mybe.

  4. I have revised my position yet again. The 2009 HGTV Green Home is somewhere between Clearwater and St Petersburg Florida with a waterfront view of either the Gulf of Mexico or Tampa Bay.

  5. I vote for Holmes Beach on the Gulf Side

  6. The 2009 HGTV Dream House is going to be built in or around Orlando Florida. If you look at the last clue about the population & search the Florida area it comes up Orlando. The population numbers used were from the 2007 cenus.

  7. My guess is Tampa Bay.

I’ve been bouncing back and forth between Sarasota and Tampa Bay because each county they’re in (Sarasota and Hillsborough) provide incentives for green projects in Florida. I’m guessing Tampa because the earliest Florida films are 1898 “newsreels” of U.S. troops in Tampa during the Spanish-American War which might relate to the scrabble board clues. Plus, Apollo Beach on Tampa Bay has an all-green community development called Waterset(water being a clue) and Mira Bay which is a community with direct access to the Gulf (shares a body of water w/New Orleans clue) … both being built by Newland Communities. Apollo is the Greek God of sunlight. So, maybe Tampa Bay!

Anywhere in the Sunshine State works for me.

Aleta – I thought about Crystal River too because it’s in the area where the Cross Florida Barge Canal project connects the Gulf to the Atlantic (it was cancelled for environmental reasons) but I don’t think it’s as “green” as the Tampa/Sarasota area.

Also the canal is in that area too where they had barges Lake George is known for Blue Crab fishing. It could also be around St. Augustine thats on the coast

  15. 1. Cedar Key
    2. Terre Verde
    3. Anna Maria

Cedar Key would have been the end of the barge route, had french pirates, and was a watering hole for the spanish (levy county). It has a beach community, is on the water approx 2 hours from Orlando. It also would have been the end of the Cross Florida Barge System. Cedar Key is an enviornmental Refuge/Preserve area.
