This is a beautiful home, wouldn’t change a thing. The location is wonderful, and I wonder how anyone can complain when something is so beautiful, and you can WIN it.

Love the floor plan, can’t wait to see the outcome, every house you give away is beautiful and I’m sure this one will be too.
I love the layout! Many years ago I lived in Port St Lucie and loved the area – but had to move back to New York State 30 years ago. I am looking forward to winning the house and moving back to FL. Keep up the excellent work!!!
After looking again and again at the floor plan, I find it is still PERFECT! My husband has copd and is on oxygen, so the floor plan openness would be wonderful for him. He sometimes uses an electric chair. I love the flow. I don’t particularly care for a formal dining room, but do love a big huge table for all to sit around and just be together, this would be great for our life style. My kitchen table has always been the ‘heart’ of our home and our dining room ended up being a spot for homework assignments and holiday dining only. To be honest it was a waste of a lot of floor space. But for years I longed for the ‘dining room’. Guess we learn as we go! I just love this one!
It looks neat but if it were mine, I’d want to add patio doors from the master bedroom out to the screened in porch.
I LOVE the unusual/unique layout. It's wounderfull and the decor is warm and inviting. ONE thing though is that I believe, or think that the guest and the children should not share a bathroom, they should each have sperate bathrooms.
Oh my gosh, I am so excited for the sweepstakes!!!! This house looks awsome and I LOVE the fact thats it’s GREEN! This is perfect for my family in the awsome green home and a gorgious community! CAN’T WAIT!

These floor plans look great. This is going to be yet another beautiful HGTV creation. I can’t wait to see the finished product.
Great design, especially for Florida. However, there’s no garage. Anyone who knows anything about Florida, especially the coastal areas, know that your car can suffer a lot of damage from salt air by not being closed in. Please, please add a garage!
I’m really lovin’ the floor plan and the whole concept of a green home. I have always loved to reclaim and repurpose items for the home. I am so waiting to see what this new home will become. I hope the reclaimed wood wins out.
What an interesting concept~to build such a unique floor plan! I love it!
I can’t wait to see more!
In Florida, it would be useful to place the dining room facing the east sunrise and the living area facing the east, as to cut down on the Florida heat.
Please straighten out the area of the master bedroom area.
Where is the garage area?
Windows??
I’m dreaming already! The only things that I would change would be a whirlpool tub and a steam-shower, but I guess that they wouldn’t be considered “green.”
It is very common in Florida-designed houses to have the master suite just off the living room and away from the other bedrooms. I have family and friends who live in different areas of Florida and all of their houses are designed this way.
Keep up the great job on “my” house!
I absolutely LOVE this floorplan! I think it’s a great idea to have access to the hall bathroom from the screened porch, instead of having to go all the way through the house! Can’t wait to see the finished product!
This is a great floor plan for entertaining and for family…the flow is wonderful and love that it continues right out to the screened porch. It’s nice that the master is separate from the other bedrooms to afford additional privacy…and quiet! Looks like there is a pantry in the kitchen…love that!
The floor plan looks awsome wouldn’t change a thing. What a blessing will be to win these beautiful home.
I can’t wait to see the finished product. It would be great to retire there. Love the floor plan.
HGTV
Thank you so much for doing everthing you can to help our plant. I thank the new
Green home is super. The only thing I would
add is a door going from the master bedroon onto the porch. I hope with this home you will use light colors on the inside walls.
Others than that please don’t change a thing.
I’m a single. Raising my 5 year old granddaughter (Cheyenne Lane) after she lost her parents. The past 3 1/2 years have been very hard on us. Cheyenne has had 4 operations. And maybe facing more. I’m praying very night that GOD and HGTV will help us to have a fresh start.
The Green House is simply amazing and best of all it is near water. I am 80 years old in July, crippled, and I wonder how it would feel to live in that gorgeous home and not have repairs all of the time. Could walk in water, fish, etc. It would be so great to live there. DIY and HGTV are the two stations I watch most ad then DREAM<<<<<<<….
I so love this unique layout. Thanks for the dream,HGTV! I’m ready, willing and able to move in!
Nice, but the child’s room is too far away from the master bedroom. Fine for a teenager, but not so good for a baby or toddler.
the layout of this house is very unique. This one looks better than last years. I like it and the area a lot!!!
When does the green home contest begin? I can’t seem to find that information on here anywhere.
Boy I sure wish I could win this for my Brother and my Mom , they lost their home to foreclosure in Port St.Lucie and we had to move them to Tenn.I know they like TN but I also know they miss Port St.Lucie and the warm temps and friendly people.
I love the location of the house. I cannot wait to see when
everything will be done. I know it will be greentastic! At least I don’t have to move from Florida.
Wow! Where do I enter?
I LOVE this House and I want to win!
I am green, I reuse glass, cans, paper etc.
Thanks for building this Green House and for teaching how to be green.
That is my floor plan I alway thought the closet should be right thru the bathroom finally so one is building my house. All right!
Looks great, but where is the fireplace?
I plan on winning this one!
I don't mind a child sharing a bathroom with a guest but when there's a door to the child's room and the guest's room, it makes me uncomfortable.
You could know someone so well but not know them enough. Maybe next Green Home will be planned safer for a child. A child might also loose some of that personal feeling when their room is next to an empty room.
If I were to win the house I just might use the room next to the child's room to feel secure that my child is more safe.
Heck maybe the master could become a den or luxurious get away space. Bamboo floors??
Wow! First time I see the home plan and it’s awesome!!! Perfect for me, my husband, two teen girls and a pre teen boy. Just perfect! The kids rooms far from the master is a dream. My residence now, has it all close to each other and it can be a bit overwelming with teens in the house, I can tell you. Love the design!!! Lucia
I love the location, and the house looks very spacious. I had hoped that the square look out area in the roof would have been a room, and that people would be able to walk out onto maybe a balcony on the roof.
Having an office, or a small room between the master and living room would have been nice. Which could be used as a nursery or toddler room.
I’ve seen a few posts of people who are concerned with the space from the master to the child’s room. I think that’s a safety issue, if there’s a break in, or a fire, you’d rather be right next to the child’s room to keep them safe.
This house might be better suited for a person without children.
the living space is extremely large, one could modify it so that there is a small room between the master and the living room.
I’d actually prefer to have my toddler in the same side of the house, maybe in the master, it is quite large.
What a beautiful location and home, all the more beautiful because it is green.
First of all I love the floor plan. Wonderfully spacious.
The door that connects the child room to bathroom and guest room would be perfect for a guest with children. Otherwise it could be locked. So, problem solved.
Also, the door ( in the floor plan) that seems to lead from a bathroom to the screened porch is surely a mistae in the rendition? I would love a door from the dining room to the screened in porch. That would greatly expand entertainment space.
I am so thrilled to find out that HGTV is doing a green home. I heard of the dream home but I also realize that in my dream home it would be green. I am sure that it will be amazing and I definetly will enter to win. The layout is so cute and comfortable and I could imagine anyone would be happy to join in the cause for being green.
Hello HGTV, Its a pleasure to know such a fine wonderful Thing that youall are doing. The floor plan is a Hit. It is a smashed it has every thing that a person could ask for. It is Free that No.1 The floor plan speak for it self. It is something that I would want for sure. Please keep up the good work.Good Luck to everyone
I’ll say the chair is in the Guest Room, the Plant is in the Foyer, and the Basket is in the Lounge.
Wow is that true It’s being built here in Florida? In Tradition, in Port St. Lucie? I love it! I have lived here for 38 years moved down 4 months after we were married from Long Island… we live in Ft. Pierce… sure has taken you a long time to realize what a wonderful area this is to live and raise a family. Aside from the Hurricanes this is one place you can call paradise!
I look forward to visiting the site and watching it being built. Sure could use some pointers on remolding my hall bath. Thanks HGTV… love your Network and all your shows! Sincerely, VeroYorkie
All doors, closets and entrances/exits should be at least 30 – 34 inches wide. One sink in the master bath could be wheelchair accessible. Plan ahead — all of us are going to be old someday and maybe handicapped!! VERY IMPORTANT: Move the hall bath down next to the laundry/mud room. That way you don’t have a bath so close to the kitchen and dining areas. There used to be laws in some states that said there had to be two (2) doors between a bath and the kitchen or the bathroom had to be a certain number of feet away. That would also cluster some water/drain pipes/etc. By moving that bath, the outside patio wall would not be broken up and would make it easier to arrange patio furniture. Also, no one wants to be that close to a bathroom — inside or outside!!! Since the kitchen is so far from entrances, a cart of some kind would be helpful when taking the purchases to the kitchen. Maybe it could even be stored behind a kitchen cabinet door. A number of years ago, I purchased an $80.00 plastic media cart (like teachers use in the classroom) to transport groceries to my kitchen from a distant garage. Works great. Big/tall/heavy items can go on the top or bottom shelf and smaller things on the middle shelf. Maybe the HGTV staff and architects can invite some wheelchair bound guests to “try” to navigate/use the various features in the house. That would no doubt be an eye-opener! Most of us have elderly parents and/or handicapped friends/relatives, and hopefully we will live to be old!! Plan for the future!
Looks like a great house, but the geust bedroom would probally have to turn into a second child’s room for me to live there. It’s a great house!I LOVE IT!
Wow i hope me and my family would win this house. I have been going through hard times where i didn’t have enough money to pay the bills so we had to sleep in the dark and in the heat. My husband is 59 and he works 24/7 and i haven’t seen him since before new years. He works as a truck driver delivering furniture. My mom passed away on 2004 right on my birthday. Recently my daughter also have been going through hard times, she wasn’t doing so good in school because of the kids mistreating her. Me and my family went through the worst but we are still here. If we win this house we can relax in our new house and enjoy the beach and not remembering the past. We will be together again : )
Love the unique plan … congratulations on a great layout, looks functional. Especially glad to see it’s a green home.’ I’ve been green long before it was fashionable. Look forward to seeing more
There are so many great aspects about this home. It is obvious the designers put a lot of thought into the plan before coming up with this plan. As a parent of 2 young boys, I appreciate that the master bedroom is not beside the other bedrooms, but beside the living room. When the children go to sleep they won’t be distracted by any entertainment in the living room or the screened porch, back yard. Very smart planning. Once again, thank you HGTV for a fabulous Green Home.
beautiful home style, beautiful site. Peace for the one who wins it.
This “Green House” is more like a Dream green house. Because if I had to build my dream house it would be like this. The location is wonderful. The house is beautiful and the neighborhood is great. Good luck to every one but I hope I am the winner. To who ever is the winner in advance congratulations!
Really like the angle and open floor plan. Especially like the split floorplan. Great living space. The access to the hall bath from the covered porch is nice. Am anxious to see this progress…..
wow the layout is cool and stuff but what about kids rooms? i only see master bed room
whats up with that? what if they have like 3 kids??
First time to comment even though i have been reading the comments every so often. Like most everyone I also enjoy the new green house plan and looking forward to enter every day as I did the dream house giveaways since way back. Can’t wait to see the actual house once its all done..
I am soooo glad this Green Home is coming! I was hoping to win the Dream Home in Sonoma, but now that that door closed, I hope this one will open! This will be exciting!
And….. I love the funky layout! Super cool!
I can’t wait to see the finished house!
