New Blog Coming Soon!
![]() |
You may have noticed the “All-New HGTV.com” postings on the site in recent days. We’re working on a major makeover of the site that will include new and improved blogs. This blog will be inactive for just a few days as we put the finishing touches on the new HGTV Green Home blog. Check back on Friday when we relaunch. If you bookmarked the main page of this blog, don’t fear. The link will still work just fine. Once we’re back online, let us know what you think and then bookmark our new blog so you never miss a single post.

ok, im starting to get the hang of the new site, its still confusing me a bit, but im getting used to it (:
Looking forward to any and all news about the Green Home.
I was looking at the other posts for the 2009 HGTV green home and I must say, I really like the “L” shaped design of the green home. I’m very excited to see the house on TV and of course see who wins (fingers crossed).
It’s great that HGTV has embraced the entire “green” movement. Look forward to the new blog.

the home that is being built in florida is that a contest home or is it being built for someone? It to is a dream home. I love it.
I am really looking forward to this blog, so please hurry and get it up and running. Also, we could sure use some more pictures of what is going on at the site. Hurry, Hurry!!!!!

Take me home please I lived in Florida for 20 years now I am rural Carolina Oh please what a perfect place , my dream come true
We never lived in a warmer climate,to wake up in a beautiful dream home every day, would be living in a dream world for us.and a GREEN HOME”! It would be great for us to heal’ from the cold and snow for the past 50 years!!!we can only pray..HGTV is my favorite channel. We have gotten so many ideas from you!!
I personally think that fake grass would be wonderful for those who spend more hours at work and less with the family. What freedom, not to have to take care of the lawn or speaking of lawnmower repairs, weed killers and keeping up with the jones would be quite easier. Great geen home. I couldn’t wait to see where the solar panels were going to be. I like everything about this home……. Love HGTV, great job again……
Awesome!!! Would love to have two wins–one the house and second if I win my step-mother would move far, far, far—–away.
What wonderful things you do for the average person like me. I would like to see a Craftsman Style Home with all the nooks and crannies, somewhere warmer than the north east. maybe SC,NC, KY or Tenn. It is going to 25 below here tonite and after 60+ yrs. and hard work it would be wonderfulisish. Thank You, for all the hard work you do. U_GO_HGTV
I would love to see HGTV look at the other side of green, it energy effecient side is great but what sbout the lifecyle of building products and how they effect the enviroment from where the material comes from as well as the end of life of that product and its effect on the enviroment. I work for a company called American Clay that has taken the time to study this effect and how even the tranportation cost effect our carbon footprint on our product. This product is not ONLY great looking but very eco friendtly. check out http://www.americanclay.com helping the world one wall at a time.
I want to know why you have chosen to incorporate a 2 car garage on the dream home? Why not have a 3 car garage? Most houses being built today in the med-high price range do have 3 or 4 car garages to accomodate cars/ride-a-mowers/atv’s/etc. Why? Also, assuming I shoud be so lucky as to win the house, what are the CCR’s, Is the permanent storage of RV’s allowed on the premises? What about additional outbuildings? How large is the lot?
HGTV. You have all been so great in comming up with great ideas. Keep up the great work. Its nice to see that people are keeping in mind the Green Home. Its very important that we look in to the furture and make sure the furture of our children, learn how to do the most effecient homes, for their furture and the grandchildren too. Best wishes to all involved. Its a beautiful home, best of luck to all who enter.
Thanks
Val
GREAT LOCATION !!!! I also live in this beautiful state.
WHAT A DREAM …. aaah The state of Florida !!!
I never knew living green could be so beautiful. M.e and my famliy can’t wait to move in
HGTV thanks for helping so many people you guys are a blessing,I also want to say thanks for teaching those like us about how to live the green life style so beautifully.
I love the Dream Home and the Green Home. In the floor plans for the green home it looks like you have to walk through the master closet before reaching the master bath. Is there a separation in the closet that make a hallway? Also since the master bedroom is next to the screened porch why isn’t there an exit to the porch from the room?
this going green house looks awesome. something i would like to win. i am 53 and have been disabled for about 7 years. i live in minnesota and right now it is 18 degrees below zero with a 46 below wind chill. this is going on our 3rd day of a deep freeze. the other night we broke the record since the year 1912. it was 29 below with a wind chill of 51 below. brrrrrr. weather where this house is would do be a world of good. stay warm everyone. i could see myself living here for the rest of my retirement years.
Why don’t you come up to the NW for any of these homes. As it was said earlier, this is your second “Green Home” in the state of FL. We have much to offer as far as activities and the beauty of the green trees and the changing of the season is magnificent.
Can someone tell me when the start date is for registering for the Green Home. I have been unable to find the answer. Good Luck to everyone entering to win this beautiful magnificant home. I do so look forward to the building of these homes. GOD BLESS all who are involved in the building of these homes. They are truly dream homes because they give us all something to hope, dream and wish for.
I have been everywhere I know to go on the HGTV site and I still do not see anywhere to sign up for a sweepstakes, the words sweepstakes are on the page but I dont see an actual form to fill out regarding entering a sweepstakes.Someone who knows please reply. Sincerely, Marie
