Friday Photos

Hey, guys and gals. I’ve been reading your posts and noticed a few requests for more photos. So I thought it might be fun on this first Friday of March to share some mystery pics from the HGTV Green Home 2009 and throw out a little challenge: Can you figure out where these shots were snapped? I may reveal the answers on Monday, or I may just leave you in ultimate suspense until the tour launches in April.

Also, I want to let you know that something big is coming on Monday. We have a special guest – that’s all I am going to say for now. Things should get pretty exciting around here in the next few weeks …

  2. Hello Mary,Thank you for the pictures.I’ll take the challenge and guess the basket is in the Great Room, chair is in the Master Bedroom and the plant is out on the patio.

Is it Mr Jack coming on Monday with a video?

Please hurry and give me more more pictures can’t get enough pictures of this beauty to satisfy me.

I would be surprised if you answered your own question for us,I think you will leave us in ultimate suspense

  3. Please, please, please, show more photos on Monday!
I need a little bigger picture to help me put things into perspective!
I cant wait for more pictures, how about some of the outside of the home, how about some major photos of the home, inside and out?
I want the big picture, can you accommodate?
Love to you all, God bless.

  6. I agree with Linda on her guess. Chair in master bedroom, plant on patio, and basket in great room. When can we start entering to win???

  7. The house is really looking beautiful…can’t wait to see more pictures. My guess for the challenge is the chair is in the screened porch, basket is in the sitting room, and the plant is outside on patio. I am sure you will keep us all in suspense instead of giving the answers, but I will be checking in on Monday…just in case. :-)

  8. I agree with Linda on the photos, I believe she’s got it!
Can’t wait to see much, much more. Can’t wait for our trip to Florida this summer, so we can come by to see it. I also can’t wait to win it!!!!!!!!! Hooray HGTV!

  9. I’ll take the challenge: The chair is in the livingroom, the leaves in the covered porch and the tray in the children’s room.

  12. Dear Mary,
I have low vision, but I could see that lovely chair and guess it is in the Master Bedroom (looks small but comfy, in a soft color). Thanks to another blogger, the second one is a plant (I love plants, so anywhere would be fine by me. And I could see the third was a basket, but was it holding a picture?, napkins?. I’ll just have to wait till Monday. Please, don’t be such a tease. Those of us who LOVE this home just want as much information as soon as possible, and PICTURES are the best. Thanks HGTV for building this wonderful GREEN home.

  13. The chair is on the patio the magazines are in the bedroom and the tray with the plant is in the kitchen. I went up last weekend to see the house with my husband it was beautiful and Tradition is a lovely city I can not wait to move in I am sooooo excited thanks HGTV!!!!!!

  14. Are all the pics of the same room? If they are seperate than I agree with many of the comments above, but if it is one room, then I guess the sitting room (there is one in the floorplans, right?). I am very curious about this one. Florida is far from where I have ever lived, but I think I can still see myself out there.

  15. This is a beautiful area for a green home. The family who wins this beautiful green home will be truly blessed. HGTV you’re awesome to giveaway this home to a lucky family.

  16. Hi Mary,I can’t wait to see the house. I’m very happy that this home is in Florida, specialy in Port Saint Lucie. I visited the place on the internet and i’ts beautifil beyond words! Let me dream on wining it. When can I enter the contest?

Maria Lucia on March 7, 2009 at 8:16 pm
  17. The basket is in the sitting room. The vase with the leaves is in the jack&jill bathroom. The chair is in the lounge. Great house. If I don’t win this house I am just going to have to keep nagging my hubby to go more green he just sees the up front cost, not the years of savings.

  18. It’s a great place to retire. The fishing is fantastic. Great locations to kyak and canoe. Some get locations for hiking. We are close to bontanical gardens. and some great theatres. do you like to golf? Local news http://www.tcpalm.com/

sandra grisham on March 7, 2009 at 10:18 pm
  19. The chair, I’m guessing, is in the master bedroom. The plant is in the dining room, I think. And the reading material is on the patio. I hope I have those right!

  20. Hello Mary,

I am here to share in this dream. I hope this will be fun and exciting for everyone.

Love the pics, the colors seems so tranquil, I can only imagine that those are some of the things we’ll see in the Green home, I love the concept of Eco friendly, i’ve seen when they picked the location and also when they select the materials for this project. I was quite amazed at the selection. It really is something.

Katydid, DaddysDarlin, good to see you here. See dreams do not die, I’d say they disipates to diferent forms. Happy Dreaming.

  21. I didn’t read all the posts, but have a question. How do we enter the contest?

KajuniterLanis on March 8, 2009 at 12:41 pm
  22. I used to love to tour the past HGTV Dream Homes and the past HGTV Green Home, but when the new HGTV.com website started, all the online tours stopped working. Will this even be fixed?

Joe on March 8, 2009 at 1:00 pm
  23. Hi – I think the first picture is a bedroom chair. The other one is a kitchen plant picture and the last picture belongs to a sun room. Am I right??

Can someone tell me when the sweepstakes will be opened to win this home?

Nancy on March 8, 2009 at 5:33 pm
  24. I take a guess at where the pics are form
Chair–outdoor living/dinning room to catch the rays
Plant — from the kitchen breakfast counter
    and
the books — diffentely the sitting room of the master bedroom

Michelle on March 8, 2009 at 7:00 pm
  25. The pictures all look like they’re outside to me, so I’ll guess the patio. My only reservation about Fl is the humidity which can make it too uncomfortable outside even in the evenings and early morning. But people probably get used to it, I just haven’t visited long enough to do that!

Janine on March 9, 2009 at 9:32 am
  26. I think the chair is in the master BR, the basket is in the sitting room, and the plant is in the LR
    This floor plan is fantastic!
What date do we start entering? I can’t find it anywhere??

Glenda on March 9, 2009 at 9:40 am
  27. I’ll guess the chair is in the Guest Room, the Plant is in the Foyer, and the Basket is in the Lounge.

Can’t wait to see more… and finally to enter the contest!

    Thanks HGTV!

  28. Hmmm….here’s a wild guess…

    chair: sitting room
    tropical plant in vase: porch
book basket on ottoman: child’s room

I would put a planted tropical or subtropical plant rather than cut leaves in a vase although it looks great! They clean the air of VOC’s and survive in low lighting environments. Children are more sensitive to pollutants so definitely a good place to put one of those plants although a Green Home will not have the toxins found in fixer-uppers l like my single mom home with asbestos siding. A few shingles fell off in the back porch so I probably need a whole nursery full of plants.

    Florida, but would love to.

  31. Too easy!!! I will take the challenge. All three mystery pics were taken on the patio of the 2009 Green Home.

I am looking forward to seeing more… and more… and more…

  32. Good evening everyone.
Hi Katydid Daddysdarlin Esla And Tamara good to see all of you :) You are soo right Esla. Thank you HGTV for giving us another greenhome to dream about.
Gail Are you here? Welcome and thank you again for answering our many questions.
I too have been anxiously awaiting more pictures and info for this house. I so wanted to win the first one. It is so perfect. I love the fact that this is one floor living. Having arthritis and in my latter middle age years this home would be much easier to take care of. This home is well thought out.
My guess is that the chair is in the master bedroom the plant is on the screen porch and the basket with books is in the sitting room.
Jack hit a homerun for sure on this location and design.
I can’t wait to see more. Please don’t wait until April 1st for the big reveal. Okay I will be patient lol.
    Have a wonderful evening everyone.

  33. Mary,

Regarding the photos…is the chair in the Guest Room, the plant is in the lounge, and the basket is in the Master?

    I am all off aren’t I?

I really like the chair color and the colors in the pillow and the table next to the chair!

Can’t wait to put it all together!

  37. The pictures are great! I have been following the progress on the HGTVPro site and was wondering when they are going to post pictures for Phrase 4?

Sharon on March 15, 2009 at 1:06 pm
  38. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAhh-mazing. I could take my kids for a barefoot walk on the beach in the mornings before breakfast and afterwards sit outside and enjoy the breeze. The interior colors are EXACTLY what I was looking at in my future home with the stricking and subtle hints of green or “green” in every room. We have not purchased a home yet but I am looking to move back to the south where I was raised.

  39. OH yes, the mother-in-law is going to be living with us. I am going to have to teach her about recycling like the Japanese do! I absolutely love the natural elements that are abundant in this home.

  40. Our Family really were disappointed that we didn’t win the Dream home in Sonoma. But we found out about the new Green Home giveaway. We are so excited! This could be a new start for my family. I have three children, and we currently live in Alabama. I have always dreamed of having a home in Florida. I can’t wait to enter!

I hope I win if it is in Gods plan, if not the person who gets it is going to just love it. Love HGTV…best thing on cable!!

  43. I would like to know how the winner of the dream home and the green home is chosen. It seems sort of strange to me that all the past winners owned or were buying their previous homes. The past winners were never renting or homeless.

debra cooper on March 28, 2009 at 2:48 pm
  44. I just signed up and saw the video tour of the house. WOW. Who ever wins this house is gonna be really lucky. I have been researching on some homes in Miami, but I think I could settle in Tradition Port St. Lucie, FL if I win. Good luck and show some more pictures….
