Good afternoon, bloggers!
We are getting close to the end of the Green Home Giveaway entry phase (June 5 at 5 p.m. ET to be exact). Do I have to remind you to get your entries in? I doubt it
In the meantime, I’ve gathered more information on your favorite Green Home accessories:

*The striped fabric that covers the daybed in the children’s bedroom is called Kittery Point Woven Stripe Azalea fabric from Brunschwig & Fils Fabrics.
*Barbara, Mecox Gardens carries the pillows that rest atop the sherbet chaises in the lounge.
Happy shopping everyone!

HOME
I didn’t start entering every day until mid May, when I realized I loved the GH, I would even consider relocating from Washington State. The DH’s and GH’s have a way of reeling me in eventually, and then I become obsessed, no matter how much I fight it.
I love the layout of the house but not the location so unsure what would do if won it but for sure enter each day.
I enter everyday right before I go to bed. That way I have something to dream about. Not sure if we would relocate to Florida from Oregon, if we won the house. The postage size bedrooms probably wouldn’t be adequate for my large family. I guess I would just have to see the house in person to see if it is liveable.
Hi We enter daily so we could have a chance to win the Dream house,we don’t care where is the location, we will be glad and very bless if we win the beautiful house because we doesn’t have a house.before we live in the truck, now we lost our truck so we stayed at our mothers house but just for a while, now my husband got another driving job so we stay to a friends house in Oregon. We are trying to have our own house.God Bless HGTV!
Hey Gail, would you find out if Brunshwig & Fils is open to the public? I thought it was for the trade only. I love that fabric in the kid’s room. Thanks.
Every day.
Hi everyone.
Thank you for the info. You are so good in researching our questions. Thank you. I hope you are able to stay with HGTV after your super fan days are over. You are an asset to the HGTV family.
Yes Gail I enter every day.
Have a great evening everyone. Gream big and live green.
Cynthia Newland
Does anyone know where the coral-like planters, fashioned from pierced resin located in the foyer can be purchased?
Gail,

We would definetly relocate, & live in it… *You should stay on as the super fan for HGTV….You have done an excellent job….I’ll miss checking these blogs out everyday…I want to win so bad & move to Tradition…..Please pick me from R.I.
I’ve entered everyday since the second day of this sweepstakes…I think of this home everyday….It would be soooo perfect for us…

Would love to dump my so not ecofriendly home in the Northeast, and move into this georgous abode in warm sunny Florida.
this home is so beautiful……….after falling 8 years ago…….and fighting cancer………..it’s time for the sun…..
my children and I could use a brake….
we would love to win this beautiful home….
where the sun is……
Hi Gail, I didn’t start entering everyday until mid may, when I realized about the HG giveaway.Ilove the HG home I will consider relocating from HOUSTON,TEXAS.The house suits me perfectly!!! And I wish I can own a house this year so bad since I been trying for 2 years. Have a great day.
The home is very appealing and provides me with so much to appreciate! I like how the items can be found or at least are common for people to obtain! The HGTV giveaway homes always have great style! Thanks Gail & Mary!
-Your Confident 2009 HGTV Super Fan!
hi love the green home is the mosth beutiful rohan
NOT entering daily? Are you serious, Gail? I can’t even imagine such a thing!
Really, having to choose between possibly winning and living in a beautiful Florida Green Home or selling and walking away with a hefty pocketful of change is a most unpleasant decision to make, but somehow, I’ll manage to pull through….
Mary…You bet! I think I missed 2 days…I love the whole green concept and that you share what is made from what! I am so very excited! I was thinking on moving to the area..my best friend and her husband live very close to the area, and I have a relative in NPR too! and I have been wanting a hybrid vehicle! What a great giveaway!
I’m entering every single day–except when something really unexpected interferes! Then I worry constantly about not getting to enter that day!
Happy last week of May, everyone!
Yes, I am entering daily. This house took my heart. I am trying to not to love it too much, if I will not win, I will be sad, but wish the winner the best, and hope they will take great care of that house. I love this house. I could paint ( I am an artist, animator), I would garden all the time ( something I love and it is good to have own vegetables, fruits, herbs). My 8 years old daughter is doing well in warm and more humid climate, she has asthma triggered by virus, and cold weather. I buy eco friendly products (all detergents, cleaning products, we have energy sufficient fridge).
I am so pleased that new paints do not harm, I personally am allergic to the old style paints, cannot be in the room when painted. These new paints seem to be great.
Renee loves and lives Green,
Hope your first day of travel went well. Pray that your trip is fun-filled and safe. Enjoy your time with your parents.
Hey Gail, Thanks for the updates
I’m thoroughly excited about the home (Entering daily). My wife and I live in Pompano Beach, Fl. My wife is pregnant and we have a little girl already. I can think of nothing greater then to relocate to Port St. Lucie with my growing family. Thanks to HGTV and all the sponsors for providing a prize of a life time!
I love this house and it is in a warm location which would be ideal for me. I have always entered every home giveaway and not won yet. But, this is the year. I feel it, I am disabled and need a warm location and we have most of our family living in Fl.. This is my Dream Home, and location. With two children left at home and the wonderful way it is painted, decorated and all the other numerous things about this house I LOVE IT… I’M SHOUTING FROM EVERY CORNER. I NEED THIS HOUSE AND I PRAY GOD WILL GRANT ME THIS HOME. So, sure I’m entering everyday and can’t wait to hear my name called to claim my home. This house is without a doubt all my dreams could imagine. Thanks HGTV for all you do to keep us wanting more. I am a super fan and yes, crazy non-stop watching all your shows. Keep it coming. I am a new true live and love green family as well. That is the best reason we need this home. Thanks again.
Is there a day and night? Gail I’m surprised you have to ask, of course, you can’t win if you don’t enter!!!!!!!!!
Wish me luck my dear.
Hi everybody!!! Good to see you are all still at it. I’ve looked through and still haven’t found any answers to the waste water questions I have. How Green is this little town where the house is built? How do they handle their waste water?
I entered everyday with the Dream House in Sonoma, not so much this time. When I read the plants had all died and it is days away from where we are instead of hours like the DH.God will have no problem finding my several entries if He has a mind to send us there.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL…GOODNIGHT AND MANY HAPPY HOURS OF GREAMING
GAIL, CAN YOU PLEASE ANSWER HOW MANY SQUARE FITS MEASURE GREEN HOME 2009?
I was wondering if there were any photos of inside the garage? There’s photos of every other location in the home besides the garage and wondered if the garage had shelving inside or any other features on the inside
Yes, daily I enter. I was raised in Port Saint Lucie. When I was little I use to look at all the beautiful homes and always aspired to own one. This is a chance of a lifetime since I would not mind moving home! I am anxious and can’t wait for the results.
Good morning Vesna! The Green Home is about 2,430 square feet. Hope this helps!
Living the Dream!
Yes, yes, yes I am entering daily!! We live about an hour south of the Green Home, & are currently renting a home after selling our home after I was laid off last year – glad we sold, or we’d be a statistic by now! Invented my own job and streamlined our life style some and we are managing – but having our own home again would be wonderful and help us get back to where we want to be. Since I’m now doing consult working mostly from home, no problem with moving an hour north of where we are – plus would put us closer to our daughter & nephew’s family.
Love the home!! Perfect location, beautiful place – would love to move in right now and take care of all those wonderful plants and the house!!
In response to the posts about it being the perfect location, etc. for them and their family. I am so glad we are all so different or all people in the United States would be living on top of each other. I personally don’t like the location, hate hot weather but love the house itself so not sure what would do if won, probably sell it to one of you other bloggers, who can afford it, and build a smaller house where I want to live. But heck that is my dream.
Does anyone have any ideas for getting coffee stains out of the filter holder? Dishwasher not doing the job. Thanks in advance.
I love this home in everyway. Beautiful through out. Great job!
This is differently a dream home. I would love to move on in. I live in Calif where everything has gotten so expensive to live, I love hot weather and I have been to Florida a couple of times and I loved it. I love the size of the home. I love everything about it. I am a single mom. What a dream to live in a house so amazing.
Hey Gail: So nice to hear from you & so pleasant to see you answer Katydid’s & Barbara’s questions! Thank you!
I am entering every day & dreaming of winning every day…Déjà vu!! I have to admit, my bags are packed (lightly I might add), and I’m ready to fly to my Gream come true! Only a few more days………
I’m winning the Green Home on June 6th!! Ding dong!

For Goodness sake, get me to the Green Home on time!
This “Fair Lady” is more than ready for her Greaming to come true!!!
MGTOTD: How many times have your picnics or family barbeques been ruined by wasps and bees? Next time, coat a few pieces of cardboard with pancake syrup and place them around the edges of your yard. The pests will dive bomb into the syrup and leave you alone!!
Hi again collegemom! Maybe soaking it in vinegar will work. MARIE – maybe you have a GTOTD for collegemom about this.
Living the Dream!
COLLEGEMOM, try diluting white vinegar with water in your coffee pot then pour it into your coffee maker with the filter in, and let it run through the coffee maker. Flush out the cleaning solution by filling your coffee pot with water only then pour it into your coffee maker, and let it run through the coffee maker. This helps to remove coffee residue build up in a coffee maker.
My husband and I live in Historic St. Charles, Mo. Many tourists visit our area and there is a lot of people all the time. A lot of festivals. I would love to have a home like The Dream House where it is open and a private deck. Even the top of the house, the private little garden, where I would spend a lot of time. We don’t have green space where we live. I love the living room and kitchen. The House is truly my Dream House. Fantastic job. Jane
this house is beautiful. It makes everyone to love him ( yes, him, not it
…), want him/it. I do to. so much. So much. But I know everyone does. SOme seem to feel entitlet to it. It is not the case. The case is the chance, the good luck in wining.
I never won anything in my life….I wish I could.
Just to know more…if anyone is interested to know more why we need and have to be eco conscious, please read this article: http://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/europe/05/29/annan.climate.change.human/index.html
I wish me good luck
, and I wish everyone to get what they need, deserve, want
I grew up on the Florida coast. My dad was involved in the building of Cape Canaveral. What a PERFECT childhood! I would beachcomb early in the morning and find shells, coconuts and other interesting things. Realizing they came a long way to reach the coast made my finds very exciting. I can’t think of a more fulfilling than to give my grandchildren the same experience.
YES, everyday!
Lynn, Thank You for answer.
What do you all think how much we would have to pay in taxes if we winn GH 09?
Seelie and Lynn thanks for the information and will try that and see how it works–can’t hurt LOL
Knowing the taxes on the one and only home in my town priced anywhere near this valued cost, they pay $7,000 a year on their house but they also have 5 acres in addition to the house so not sure what that would equal to for GH house. Anyone have any ideas here?
I love the look of this new house without seeing the floor plan, which is also great–it is just a gorgeous looking home from the outside.
I won’t be worrying about the taxes on the Green Home if I win it. I’ll be deciding on more important issues, like should I have a margarita before lunch or after, or both, and should I take a nap in one of those cozy orange lounge chairs in the sitting room, or read a book in that great screened-in patio? What should I BBQ for dinner? Is that tomato ready to pick yet from my roof-top garden? Is it time to feed the ‘gator on the front porch? Priorities, folks, priorities, please.
We would be so blessed to win this “green” dream home. Our family of 7 (2 adults, 5 kids) truly need a home. We lost our home due to the economy and had to relocate just to be able to live. We are currently living in California in a rental. My husband and I enter daily. We help so many people out of the goodness of our heart and we just know one day it will come back to us. We thank you HGTV for letting us dream if only for a little while!
I just love this house. And the lay out is great for my family. WOW I hope I win . This is the blessing I’ve been praying for.
To go along with those drinks here is our all-time fun salad for the summer months from a magazine: uses ingredients have on hand.
3 large vine-ripened tomatoes, chopped
1 cuc unpeeled, and cut into 1/4 inches
1 small red onion, thinly sliced
1/2 c. Kalamato olives
1/4 c. olive oil
1 Tbsp. oregano leaves
salt and pepper
6 Oz. feta cheese, crumbled
(though any cheese will work)
In bowl, mix tomatoes, cuc, onion and olives. Ad oil, oregano, salt and pepper, toss to coat. Sprinkle with cheese. Serves about 8.
ENJOY, My ten year old daughter loves this salad though surprisingly my sixteeen year old daughter hates this type of olives and gives to younger sister. Going to try with regular black olives when the jar of kalamata I am working on is gone.
I would love to enter your contests, but there is no possibility as you only list US states and not Canadian provinces. How come?
As dreaming of winning Green Home meanwhile I got very discourage about Green Home after reading fallowing article and I thought why GH09 location was not chosen to much safer area: Located on a barrier island off of Florida’s central east coast in Jensen Beach, the twin St. Lucie reactors are about eight miles upwind of the town of Port St. Lucie, where an astronomically high percentage of children have brain cancer.
The death rate for breast cancer in St. Lucie County has also skyrocketed.
In the dream home foyer there is a really large white starburst mirror above the stripe couch–does anyone know where I can purchase it. It is stunning. Jan
Wow. It is amazing to be offering such a beautiful once in a lifetime opportunity and someone has to find a negative. What is this world coming to?
Just for Collegemom:
Since your coffee filter is part of your coffee maker, cleaning the coffee maker should also take care of the filter…instead of pouring water into it like usual, fill it up with vinegar about a fourth of the way. Then you can fill the rest up with water.
Now, run the coffee maker. After doing this, switch the coffee maker off and let it sit with the power off for a good ten to fifteen minutes. You want it to have some time to cool. Repeat! That’s right, you want to brew some more vinegar and water and then let the machine cool off for another 10 minutes.
After this, repeat the last step again, except this time, don’t include the vinegar. Use plain old water – fill it to the top of the water reservoir (or pot, which you then pour into the reservoir) – run it through the coffee maker and then again, let the coffee maker stand, turned off, for 10 minutes (preferably even longer).
You can manually wash the coffee pot and filter basket in the sink. Use warm, soapy water. Depending on what kind of dishwasher you have, you can even stick the coffee pot (or carafe) in there for a spin.
Since you want your coffee to taste like coffee and not vinegar, make sure you keep rinsing until there is no sign of vinegar left! No one wants their morning coffee to have a hint of vinegar in it.
So, all you need is some vinegar, soap, and water, and about an hour to spare to get your coffee maker & filter in good shape and ready to brew. But beyond that, how often should you go through this laborious, tedious process?
Drip coffee makers should be cleaned about once a month. This ensures that your coffee isn’t tainted by bad-tasting (and even unhealthy) hard water deposits and leftover oils. If you maintain your coffee maker consistently, you can keep your coffee tasting nice and flavorful and also make it easy on yourself when it does come time to give it a nice, good cleaning. The less buildup, the less likely it will be that you’ll have to rinse your coffee maker a fourth or fifth or sixth time.
So if you want to wake up to a nice, warm pot of brewed coffee every morning, you have to make sure that coffee is coming from the purest place possible.
Another piece of advice: if you’re getting ready to tackle the dirt of your coffee maker for a good hour, why not brew a fresh cup of coffee first to get you energized for the annoying chore?
Hope this works for you!!
Oh yeah…collegemom…loved your salad recipe…thank you!!!
You know in comment to your reply Vesna there are diseases and anomolties all over the world. What about the areas where lyme’s disease is prevelant, strokes are higher in certain areas than others, obesity is a problem in this city more than this city, earthquakes are a hazard here more than there, tornadoes happen everyday in this general location—the list could go on and on.
For some lucky winner this will be a dream come true. I for one am glad that there are sponsors willing to help pay for this magnificent home for one or two (who knows these days) lucky families to live in. This home is allready built but if worried about the diseases reported in the area, it’s probably a good thing you don’t live there.
Like Coop mentioned in the Dream Home blog, I’d personally be more worried about the “open mouth, insert foot” problem while standing around Florida lakes: to elaborate—’gator opens mouth, inserts YOUR foot. Not only is it embarassing, but it can really cause some serious health concerns.
And by the way, if you’re not entering daily, you’re just making it easier for the rest of us!
I haven’t missed a day to enter yet! I lived in port st lucie for 3 years down the road from tradition before moving to Arkansas. I miss it soo much and badly want to move back….I need this house!!!
Never thought of alligators, here we worry about bear which if last year is any indication-are becoming more and more brave and spending lots of time in town.
Hello everyone!!!
This home is so amazing! It is not just a home, it would be very educational for children to live in.
We need to teach how to preserve and respect what we have. Let’s build more eco-friendly homes to make the world a better place….
Good luck to everyone!!
Yes, my husband and I enter daily we need a green home in Florida. We have wanted to make our current home greener but withhis company reducing work hours and me getting laid off in March we are looking at forclosure. That house would allow us to live green, be closer to my aging parents and not have the worry of forclosure.
Enter every day and love to dream (or gream) about winning this house!
It would be the first house I’ve ever owned! Love the beach–love warm/hot weather!
vesna: You’ve made your point (numerous times) and I think it’s time to move on. Have you ever considered that if enough people living in the area with a green agenda got together, that they could perhaps change the policies and create an alternative to the nuclear plant(s)? Instead of complaining and pointing out all the faults involved in this (or anything for that matter), how about actually doing something to create positive change in the world. ………….I’ll get off my soapbox now……….sorry for venting……….;-)
Thanks HGTV for building a beautiful eco-friendly home in a beautiful area and allowing us to dream big and green!
Go Green!
Oh yeah! you know it. and i cannot missed it for a bit. love this house and i am praying hard that this house could be mine.everyday i get off work, i came straight to the computer and update on the hgtv and i am also a big fan.
Couldn’t go a day without thinking about it so I do remind myself!! Plus everytime we go up to my parents to visit I have to go and look at it again!!!! I love PSL and I would give anything to get out of Jupiter!!!
I enter as often as I can. I love Florida, who wouldn’t living in Buffalo snow??? Does not entering every day decrease a person’s chances?
Thank HGTV for the GH 09 at Fort St Lucie you builted to give a chance a family to win this precious house. Good luck to everybody.
I’ve been entering every day since I first looked at the virtual tours of the Green Home. It’s beautiful and I’d love a new home to offer to my wonderful family
yes i enter everyday and could only dream that i will win but i know that people like me dont usually win anything. My daughter and i were looking at the house and she said mommy what are we doing wrong why cant we have a house like that? i didnt know how to answer. we are less fortunate than others and our house is literally falling apart even though i am a nurse i just dont have the money to fix everything or buy a new house. i love the house and im from tampa florida but live in mississippi now and i would love to move back and in this house would be great!
Yes i am signing up daily! I am from Philadelphia Pa and my youngest Daughter just gotten accpeted into an Art school in Flordia and im soon going to be looking for a home in flordia. i have a medical issue so Flordia with their one story homes is perfect for me, so if i need to move around in my wheelchair i can with ease. Me and my Daughters Pray every single night for this home it would be a miracle if we Win! i hope we win
Can I just say that I was blessed enough to tour the home today and it was beautiful! The guides were very friendly, fun and full of fun facts. I didn’t want to leave, but hubby reminded me that I had to.
I posted a link to some photos on the solar panel blog if you’re interested. Also, in my humble opinion, I actually thought the house seemed more spacious in real life than it looks in the photos and I was surprised at how much larger everything looked, esp the decor items. Hubby joked that it’s because we need a larger computer monitor… (he thinks he’s so funny….and most of the time he is…)
Colleen: Thanks for the firsthand account!
You confirmed what I thought—that the photos were distorting the dimension of the spaces. I’ve seen a lot of negative comments throughout this blog in reference to how small it all looks, but I knew it probably was larger than it appears on TV or computer.
Go Green!
Looking forward to owning a home. Never owned a home before,
God, Please bless me to win this house.:)
How come since yesterday I have to re-enter all my information instead of just my e-mail address?????
I’ve been entering every day. They say you can’t win if you don’t play. I hope my name is picked. I’d move tomorrow! Can’t think of a better place to live next to southern California. My life would be exponitially better with this home. We currently live in a rented Condo on the beach, but having our own home is my American Dream! I’m hopeful, but holding back because I know a lot of people are entering. Thank you for making this possible for someone. I’m dreaming the dream! Pick me!
I have tried to enter everyday. May have missed a couple during a move from our last house. Sure hope HGTV crew can find our new location.
Lessie, thank you!!! Today is my first day to relax and no driving!!! We are at my Mom’s and her Husband is an amazing cook.. He cooked dinner last night when we arrived and a wonderful breakfast this morning. The drive has been interesting.. I had trouble the first day finding wi-fi to get my entry in.. I started to panic… Thank God, for Holiday Inn Express… They have done a great job revamping all of their rooms!! Even in the smallest of towns.. We are half way!! Soon, we will be in Florida and stopping to see the GH2009!! Thank you for thinking of me.. I knew that I had met some of the best bloggers here at HGTV.. and You proved it Lessie.. Colleen, thank you for the information on the GH2009.. I have tried to explain this over and over that the pictures may not give the best representation of the actual space and that furniture can be moved to fit any family’s needs. Vesna, I see that you are concerned about the location of the GH2009, but, would love to see where you received the information on what you posted to the blog…. and the square footage has been posted several times… I posted it 3 times… Gail, has posted it and it is on the main site… Hope, you have located it, by now. And I noticed that you did ask to be blessed to win the house,, would you keep it after what you have posted??? Pureimaginaton, you are thinking the same as I was…the pictures are distorting the spaces… Just ignore the negative comments.. I have learned after posting facts and getting attacked for doing so… Gail, yes, I post my entry daily… I have a panic attack if I realize that I haven’t for the day… You crack up… Show Me, CollegeMom, Marie, Ed and Cynthia, I just wanted to send you a hello… Talk to you all soon… Once we are settled in our new place in Ft. Lauderdale… Love life by living green!!! PS.. Hello to Lynn as well.. and thank you for posting the square footage for Vesna.
You guys might think this is funny, but this is how I remembered to register every day: I went to the website and printed up my favorite areas of the home and the truck and then got a large poster board and put them on it. Every day I look at the home I never owned and remember how nice the climate was in Florida and hope this is my dream come true. Guess what else I found out? Port St. Lucie is one of the top 25 cleanest cities for ozone and particle pollution! After living in Los Angeles, this would be such a healthy change.
Here’s the link: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/30476335/
I have entered the contest almost every day!!
Love the house! Just what I need in sunny Florida.
I have been entering every day since may 1st and I pray to God I win this house. My husband and I are young college students with 3 children and it would give us a perfect start. My kids would love to move to florida. I guess we have to keep on praying I know God will answer!
Hi Gail:
Yes! I do try to enter every day!!!! I know you are not suppose to wish for material items, BUT, I have wished for this green home in Port Saint Lucie since before you could enter. This home would be perfect for my 86yr young mom and myself. We currently live in a 6 BDRM home in Villa Rica, Ga & it is a two story. I always grow a garden, conserve on water, & really try to live as green as possible. In 2001 I developed Stage III Hers-2 Breast Cancer & have survived not only the cancer, but the loss of every material item I had ever worked for all my life as my boss retro canceled our whole groups health ins plan during my 3rd 24-hr chemo treatment & I had no insurance to cancel my treatment. My mom & dad, son & niece gave their entire lifes savings so I could continue my treatment. I was a very lucky girl to have the family I have & the great doctors I had, with alot of help from GOD! I moved here with my mom & dad, whom we sadly lost in 2006 and doing WELL, but miss my son, daughter-inlaw, grandchildren, niece, & little nephew whom all live in the Port Saint Lucie area. This green home all on one floor which would be just wonderful for my mom & make it easier for her to get outside more often, both our dreams would be answered by having our family near by, & I would be within driving distance to see my Doctors at Sylvester. They have done a wonderful job on this home, I love the garden roof, the screened patio, the solar panels, I love the Tradition area and really just every aspect of the home. I know there alot of people wishing for this home & whom ever wins it is one lucky person!! BEST OF LUCK & HAPPINESS TO THE WINNER & THANK YOU HGTV FOR THE DREAM!
Reneelovesgreen, hello to you to. Sounds like your trip is going well. Looking forward to your comments once you tour the home. Your posts are always very descriptive!
I have entered almost every day since the Giveaway started! My memory and schedule aren’t perfect enough to enter EVERY DAY, but I try! I love the Green Home! It is so perfect for my family! My son and daughters will LOVE the sun, being that close to the ocean; so will I! I rent a little baby house right now in PA, I can’t WAIT to move to Florida!! WooHoo!
Ok. I love everything about Green Home. If winning I would be really very very hapy. House from outside is beautiful, realy love it, roof and vuew from it, kitchen is my favour and dining room and open area in great room with high cellings and lights and all of other rooms. I DO WISH BECOMES MINE.
But I am kind of scarry person worying of things that could be dangerous for
Accidentally I sent this above, this now is correction:
Ok. I love everything about Green Home. If winning I would be really very very happy. House from outside is beautiful, really love it, roof and view from it, kitchen is my favor and dining room and open area in great room with high ceilings and lights and all of other rooms. I DO WISH BECOMES MINE.
But I am kind of scary person worrying of things that could be dangerous like when I discovered nuclear plants near buy. Now I worry of hurricanes as a read this comments in You tube from someone who leaves there describing it but it does not minimize my desire to win and I do think that GH is made beautifully and most securely. I am looking forward to win. I do think of things that I come across and posting it out I am actually expecting that someone would really explain to me who knows better is there need to feel uncomfortable about it or no, is it really dangerous or no. Is it to worry about or no. This is what I found on You tube:
Hurricane Jeanne – Port St.Lucie, FL – September 25, 2004

I remember this. Yeah, our lives pretty much sucked for two years because of those three storms. -.- My cieling collapsed in one room, my roof was leaking pretty badly in all parts of my house, it took a week for my parents and myself to clean all the water damage, and most of our sophets were gone. =/ My neighborhood looked like it’d be struck with a small bomb, it was crazy. Gators EVERYWHERE, bunch of eyes staring in the river. Transformers blowing, fences hitting the windows, the walls moved

can vouch for the vid description about the frogs croaking during the eye of Jeanne. I live out near Windmill Point, in Port St. Lucie… and it was like the Book of Exodus had come to life or something… there were frogs everywhere… you couldn’t walk a foot without stepping on a frog… there were frogs on people’s roofs and whatnot… it was insane.
But I’d rather go through a fast moving Cat. 3 storm like Jeanne than the slow moving Cat. 2 that Frances was, any day.
I missed a few days on the net but I have mailed in entries as well so that makes up for it. I am looking forward to winning my DREAM HOME can not wait to finaally get to Pt, St Lucie!!!. I have been waitng three years for this and it has finally come true PT St Lucie he we come!!!!
What a nice information I read from our bloger Katherine Houston that Port St. Lucie is one of the top 25 cleanest cities for ozone and particle pollution!
Clean air and water is the most important for healthy living. I am now more confident in loving anyway beautiful Green Home. I also love it knowing the type of strong material GH was built with. Let have everybody have a Great Day.
What better way to become a green trend setter than to show everyone that not only can going green be feasible, great for the environment and economical but also BEAUTIFUL than to do it HGTV style. My future home…lol… is so beautiful and I can’t wait for you to come ring my doorbell!!! Moreso I would love to be able to suprise my dad on Father’s Day with the house and be able to say no to a nursing home and yes to his own private room. Good luck to everyone and if you are fans of HGTV just as I am, you’ll be anxiously watching with me on June 6!!!
I would love to win this home, I live in a 3rd floor apt, and have peach, apple, mango, avocado, and tangerines little trees, all this trees need hot climate to keep growing,I pray to God, everynight that he will give them and my family a place to grow and to finally have a place to literally put roots down
I love this house. I pray everyday that God blesses my children and I with this home. I would love to have a place for my Mom and Dad to visit, also other family and friends too. It would also be a great place that family and friends that are sick (cancer etc) can come and visit for a getaway from all the stresses of their sickness. It would truly be a blessing for me and the girls and my new grandson..
HGTV keep up the good shows. I love them..
I want my parents to live with us. My father has parkinsons and it’s hard for my mother to take care of him because she has a heart condition. The home we live in now is only 1200sq. ft. including the one car garage. If we had the room, they would already be living with us. I have a son who graduates this year and he loves to entertain. We always have anywhere from 5 to 10 teens in our house at all times. I love them all but it gets crampy (no privacy). This home would be perfect! Please god, let us win this home. It’s perfect for our needs. Bonnie in Orlando FL
I missed a few times but hope for the best because we are paying rent now I just need to have my own place, because it would make things a little easier on me because my husband is on social security and I am working for minium rage just to make it on a day to day basis,I love watching hgtv it’s like wishing it was happening to me
Hi, My name is Dianne, I have 3 children, all in college. I am hoping to win this home, because of some bad situations that has happen to me medically, I had to resign from my job and my Social Security Survivors Benefits will end in July and my children and I will not have a home to stay in after July because of no income. We would really like a new start for ourselves. Thank you and I hope we do win.
Love this house….would love it to be my first home ever.
LOVE THE TEAK DESK/TABLE and all of the bathrooms. This is my first entry!
The house is beautiful. We built our home in 1997 and have raised two kids. I love my home but it may be time for a change. I’d love to have it maybe to live in but definitely to vacation in for months at a time!
Hello from Arkansas,
We live in the country and love it. Its clean air and song birds inspire us to wake up early each morning.
While watching your TV show, I seen the same sence of the Ozarks, but in a different way. We love our small piece of earth in arkansas and would love to have a chance to own a piece of earth there.
i love this house
Wow, when I saw the green house I said; that would be an awesome house to live in, have my family come and be happy with me and my husband. I live in a house with a septic tank for 23 years, it needs major upgrades, and no money to upgrade it with. Just had a granddaughter born 3 days ago, and bought her the movie of “the daughter of the little mermaid”. Two grand children(boys), and I am sure that would enjoy that house with us, we are very close. Being that they are allergic to pretty much alot of things, I am sure that me and my husband would enjoy this house to the fullest.
I will win the green house, YESSSSSSS!!!!!
I love, love, love this house. It is so fascinating to me how it was constructed. Then all wrapped up in a beautiful presentation. I lived in sunny Florida for 2 years and would love to live there again!! I’d love to adopt HGTV’s 2009 Green House. Going green couldn’t be prettier!
Diane
Enter, Enter, Enter…only four more days left! Very exciting!
I wish everyone on this blog the very best of luck!

My mom just bought a house in Port St. Lucie right next door to my grandma so that she can take care of her and not put her in a retirement home, I would love to win this house so that I may one day do the same for my mother.
I really want to win this house
Oh Gracious Lord make this house our home. Yes Gail, I’ve been entering since the beginning. I missed a couple of days because we went out of town and where we were had no internet. It was a bummer for me during those couple of days. But I prayed for this house even away from a computer. This house would be a big dream come true. I prayed and prayed for God to give me a child (someone to truly love me) and he answered my prayers. This house would be an ideal home for my daughter and I. I love warm climate areas, always dreamed of living down south. Hoping this house becomes our home.
Yes, Enter. I wish everybody the best.
Yep! Yep! Yep! I am entering daily to win this beautifuuuul home in Port St. Lucie. I can feel my feet gliding across those gorgeous floors, and lounging in that sassy bathtub!! Thanks again HGTV! Goodluck to all of us!!! P.S. When will HGTV actually choose the winner?? Any particular day? If by phone call… I may want to stay at home…

I would love to have this homenot only for myself I lost mine but my daughter is gettting ready to lose hers and she and her husbadn are having a baby in oct. and he tries so hard to get work each day times are hard for alot of people and I always pray for those that are less fortunate but it would be such a wonderful gift to do something for them when I lost my house they gave me a place to stay and that is what family is about
Hello Gail! I have been entering as much as I possibly can! The green home assessories sound amazing and I will pray everyday that the dream home could be mine
Normally I don’t enter contests but I saw this house and fell in love. My mother and I moved back in together after my father passed. I had no intentions of moving from Mississippi but once we saw this house we both said that if we won then we would totally be willing to relocate and start over with this house. I’m entering everyday and with gods grace we will win. Bless you all!
If we don’t win the house can I have David come to my home in New York to redo our kitchen. Would move in the next day. Looking to relocate in the next five years, can be and I can relocate to anywhere because of my job with the Federal government.
I have a friend who believes they will win the lottery whether they buy one ticket or many tickets so they only buy one ticket each week. There is something to be said for that, however, with this Green Home, it doesn’t cost anything to enter daily…so why not? HGTV makes it so easy for us!
I encourage you all to enter everyday and keep track of the these blogs…there is so much information here for us!
Thanks again HGTV! Here’s to the future winner…cheers!
Living the Dream!
P.S. Keep your eyes opened…you never know who may be sneaking up on you over the next couple of weeks to say that YOU are the Winner!

I live here in florida.
Great work, maria river June1,2009at 11.46
Hey Gail, Go Girl……you are doing an Awesome job of running through that Fabulous Green House to give us a sneak peek @ this gorgeous home that is calling the Taylor Family’s name! It is just the right size for my husband and I, and our 2-year old daughter, and my 18 yr. old step-daughter, who is in college & stops by for more than just a meal. We would love to move south, to get away from Michigan and start new careers. YES, I am entering daily for this wonderful opportunity! GOOD LUCK 2 ALL!
aww man I just started entering today!!
I have been living in the same singlewide mobil home for the last 12 years and I just don’t fit here anymore. I remodeled it 2 years ago and I also remodeled my elderly mother’s house last June and my mom got parkinson’s disease and dimentia and had to place her in a nursing home 50 miles away from where I live. I have been broken hearted because I wish I had an extra bedroom for her and a rail for a wheelchair because she can’t walk, so winning a dreamhome would be a miracle for me. Thank you for giving us hope.

Watching any type of remodeling and/eco-friendly type homes is great! I especially enjoy learning the different techniques in making homes more appealing in every different aspect.
I would LOVE to relocate from Nashville to Fla…..I love it down there and I’d be closer to my sister…Thanks for the updates and yes, you better believe I’m entering every single day….I’m in love w/ this CRIB!!!
A few times a week.
Thank-you HGTV for a chance to win this home and others! I live in Palm Bay, Florida and have had my home torn up bad from Jean, Francis, and Wilma. I’m a single Mom now and my boys and I are left with a house in forclosure and I have Chiari a brain malformation. Surgery is next and the boys and I pray to win this home. GO GREEN!
We would love to win and if we don’t will be so happy for who ever does. Your the best HGTV! P.S. This house would be the best 6/7 Birthday gift for me ever!
God Bless and Good Luck to everyone, Christina
Hi Gail, I have been entering since the first week. I even took my lap top with me on vacation. I have coustody for my two grandchildren. They have already picked out their rooms if I should win. They both love it along with me. I live in Virginia and I would love to win this home for us and YES we would relocate in live in this beautiful Green Home. What is the date of this drawing so we can watch? I pray God is looking over us and know this is the place and home for us. We love the sun and the beaches.
I LOVE THIS HOME! Would relocate in a heartbeat!
I still have my fingers (and toes) crossed. DH and I are moving to Florida this year, one way or another, as soon as our house sells! Winning the dream home – in our chosen retirement state – would definitely be a dream come true! I LOVE it.
it is getting harder and harder to find where to add my vote
This is my first entry due to surgery keeping me from entering sooner. So I will just hope for the best!
Yes, I enter daily. It’s a dream GREEN home. We would love to live there and share it with our family and friends.
We absolutely love this house. my husband and I have 3 kids who are all about doing what is good for the earth. What better home could there be to raise them in? The twins are 4 and the baby is 2. My husband is permanently laid off from an auto parts factory here in Ohio and we are starting to have a hard time making our mortgage payments. Winning this home would be a dream come true for our family. We would move tomorrow. But, if we don’t win this house, let’s just hope we don’t end up losing the house we do have, even though it is an extremely tight squeeze. Our house is 850 sq. feet for 5 people.
The green home is awesome. I love the fact that HGTV is doing so much more for the environmmental building.
I always dream to have our own house but for different reasons and the high prices the dream is just a dream. I entered since 2004 at the HGTV Dream Houses but without luck, maybe this is the one.
Paulette Villanueva
Dear Gail:

Hello everyone. You know what I was thinking?
I’m going to miss entering the HGTV echo home sweepstakes! It really gives you something to wish for and thank you HGTV.Its just become apart of anyones day to enter.I wish there were more winners to make more families happier!!Its sad that one person will win when everyone has been trying to win.I guess thats what the next sweepstakes will do, make it continue to dream a little dream for awhile. Its nice and fun.I also like to read what everyone is saying for this is also nice.God bless the one that wins and everyone else in this world.
I started enter late but i do. Trying my luck is the only way i could own a house.
It’s my fist time
Our prayers would be answered if we won this home!!! Moving back to Florida and living in such a beautiful home that has been built by passion of being “green”.My husband and I would be closer to all five children and the five grandchildren. Plenty of room for everyone to visit.
Yes I enter everyday! This house is awesome and would be perfect for my son and me!
I haven’t entered daily because I know my chances are slim to none to have my dreams come true on such a grand scale. I can’t let my self get obsessive, however for the times I have entered I’m still holding on to that tiny bit of hope!!
Does anyone know where to purchase the picture of the bird above the loungers in the front room. Has orange colors in it and in commercial you cant see it very long?
Hi Mari,
yes, I am entering everyday to try and win HGTV’s GH. It is a fantastic home, I can only dream of winning a home. It is perfect for me! And the location is GREAT!. I will keep entering until the dadeline and keep my fingers crossed. Love you all at HGTV, You’re the greatest! Thanks, Lanice
“When you wish upon a star
Makes no difference who you are
Anything your heart desires
Will come to you
If your heart is in your dreams
No request is to extreme
When you wish upon a star
As dreamers do”
Please God, only You can do it.
This is my first entry. This would be a dream for me and my daughter. I am a single parent of a college student. My elderly parents live in Florida and for me to near them would be the greatest gift to them since I am an only child. I hope that this dream can come true for me and my family.
Love the house and the location is perfect for me.
So beautiful! What a great idea. Good Luck!
My husband and myself watched the HGTV program showing the home, I hope like everyone else to win and if I do I would like to make this a home for my mother and my husband, myself, kids and grandkids would come on weekends and vacations and then retire in such a beautiful home.
just a dream! I do not really expect to win. I know there are a lot of deserving people who would like to own such a beautiful, healthy environmental home. good luck to everyone.
I have been entering since it started. The home is beautiful. My family lives in Port St. Lucie I live in Fort Pierc. I love to watch the HGTV shows they are great.
Oh yes, I am entering every day…since I am on disability and a fixed income, not enough to qualify for a mortgage, this is the only way I will ever own my own home!!!! I already live in Florida, and have no problem relocating to the other coast. Wish me luck!!!! Thank You
I enter almost everyday and think what a great retirement home this would be to share with my husband on our 42nd anniversary June 24th,
Solar panels, composter, water absorbing pavers, energy efficient appliances, recyclable furniture, rooftop gargen and a hybrid truck- In addition to the beautiful home and landscape, I love all of the features!! This is a wonderful green home. I enter everyday and cross my eyes, fingers and toes that it will be me who wins, but I do wish everyone luck in the Sweepstakes. Thanks HGTV for allowing us this opportunity to win such a spectacular prize and learning more about green living.
I am a rather new real estate agent in the mid-west and I love design, homes and houseplans.

Hi Mary
This is my first entry…At 67 years old I figured we did not stand a chance. My husband is 68 and would love to retire to Florida, He has had a quaddruple by pass , works a couple days a week as a transporter for a local hospital. He has bad arthritis.
The cold winters are hard on him.
Not complaining….we are so blessed. Next year we will be celebrating our 50th!!!Love your show!!! It’s like sitting down with family. Keep up the good work..A true fan!!!Muriel
This home is built with such craftsmenship you just cannot find anymore! It’s wonderful to be green
I enter everyone of the new houses and have not won yet. I have never had a home but If God see me in this one I guess he will decide who’s faith it shell be. Good Luck
Hello, This is my third time entering Hey I
need to win.
If not I will be entering again next year,
PEACE OUT, ANNIE IN TEXAS
the house looks really cool looking.
the place looks really cool looking
My husband spent 24 years in the military and he is computer illiterate and when he saw this home he makes sure I go online everyday to enter this contest. We live in Northern Alabama and he said he would love to live in Florida because we have a son and 2 grandchildren in Florida. We thanks you so much for the opportunity.
It is such a beautiful home! I lived in Port St Lucie back in 1989 and 1990. Would love to move back and see all my old friends and my family. I have been away so long this would be the chance of a lifetime! Best of luck to everyone! Can’t wait to find out if I won!! Yes I have my entries in ty!!
Does anyone know how many entries they received for the last house they gave away? I’m just curious……
My husband thinks I am crazy to build my hopes up. High hopes is what keeps us going. I would love to pull up in that drive way and say”MINE< MINE’” like my 2 year old would. Good look to the winner. How soon do you announce the winner?
Love, Love,Love this home and the location is awesome!! I am a Florida finatic, and am obsessed with the “palm-style” living. ~More importantly… this home is our dream~ We are a middle class family in Kansas, with a lot of love for natural living. My 10 year old daughter believes in going green, and wants to make an impact in our world~ this home would do it, and inspire her for the rest of her life. I want to promote her “Save the World” attitude and dedication to the fullest extent possible. We hope, like everyone, that we get selected, and we have entered as much as our lives have permitted us to. We hope to send in additional entries by mail. ~~thank you
Our daughter lives in Port St. Lucie and we would love to live near her.
I have tried repeatedly to enter your contest and been refused for lack of an area code but I DID enter my area code, several times over, with the same result-no entry! I’m disgusted!
I USED TO LIVE IN PORT SAINT LUCIE AND WORKED AT THE MALL. I MOVED TO WEST PALM BEACH TO WORK FOR THE SAME COMPANY JUST A DIFFERENT MALL. WHAT I WOULD DO TO GET BACK TO BEAUITIFUL PORT SAINT LUCIE ,AND TO LIVE IN THAT FABULOUS GREEN HOME , WORDS CANNOT DISCRIBE . BUT I CAN SAY IT WOULD BE A DREAM COME TRUE.I HAVE NEVER OWNED MY OWN HOME ,WHAT A WAY TO START. I WATCH HGTV EVERYDAY AND LOVE TO SEE HOW TO FIX AND REPAIR AND THE AWESOME JOB THEY DO.
WOW!!! I never thought winning something like this was ever possible so I didn’t start entering until about a week ago. I am kicking myself in the butt. I have HGTV on for at least 4 hours a day and am constantly seeing the commercials for it. My son has severe asthma and we are slowly turning our home ecofriendly due to his allergies that trigger his asthma. A warm humid environment has been what the doctors told us he needs. I am now in the process of moving back into my parents house in Atlanta Georgia due to a layoff at my job and now unable to afford my house:( My fiancee is actually away in Virginia because he was unable to find work here and I can’t wait until we can all be together again. It’s been a horrible heartbreaking 2 months and the possibility of winning this home has kept my spirits up! Who knows….I may end up in Florida one day anyway. Thank you HGTV for all you do. Thank you for entertaining me every day on TV and teaching me MANY MANY things! Thank you for giving so much back to your fans. I love you guys and hope to be getting a knock on my door very soon.
PS. When will they be announcing the winner?

Living the Dream!
Yes, I enter daily. I’m going to be sad when I can’t go to the computer to visit my home. However, owning it is much better!!! My heart says I’m the winner. Thanks HGTV & Sponsers in advance. You Rock!!!!!
Having discovered our family home is on an old toxic dump our family is being forced to relocate by the end of the summer. My husband is a LEED cp and it would be our dream to live in a green home. We have always tried to eat healthy and clean our home with organic products. I have entered to win these past weeks in hopes that our dream of winning this green home will put an end to our nightmare of finding out we have been living surrounded by high levels of toxic soil. Thank you HGTV for giving us hope for a brighter future. Blessings!
We vacation there every year would be a dream to have a home there.
THANK HGTV TO MAY MY DREAM THRUE
I love this dream home, I’ve entered everyday since the contest started. Owning this home would really be a dream come true. Thanks HGTV for giving everyone a chance to own this property in a contest.
Question
When is the actual drawing for the house going to be and when will the winner be announced?
I have entered every HGTV home giveaways since the first one (about 10 yrs). My husband just shakes his head when I tell him I am entering yet again. We have tried for years to get a house but something always falls through. We would love to relocate to Florida. If we dont win this one I will still continue to enter the next ones. Best wishes and congratulations to the winner and their family.
I love the Green Home, you guys did an awesome job. It has everything I want in a home. The colors are perfect and the furniture is great. I always watch all of your shows, my family think I am crazy, because I am always watching HGTV. I like to see all the new ideas that you guys show everyone. If I win this new home, I told my husband I am going to retired, I think I deserve it and I need a break. Keep up the good work. Good Bless you all.
you have to be in it to win it
I’m a single mom of a smart, sweet 7 years old girl and this house would be a dream came true for us (my daughter loves marmaids). This house is perfect!
i well love to go to california one day with my family,i live in wisconsin and is cold.
Three of my four adult children live in Florida. This would be so much fun to live closer to them and watch my grandchildren grow up.
