2. Marie Miller, your comments about the New Port Aquarium make it interesting for sure. The remark about bizarre life forms made me think of some of the characters in the Design Star challenges! I wouldn't mind a sleepover there (no, not on the set of Design Star, but the Aquarium!) However, I'd have two requirements: they'd have to put the sharks to sleep first (never know—those clever creatures might sneak out of the tank during the night) and second, I'd have to have a wide-screen TV to watch HGTV before turning out the lights.

   Lynn Coggin, I see the white male, "nice guy" similarity between David and Dan, but can't fault them for that. I think HGTV is savvy enough to put a program together that would differentiate them, and their diverse talents, for most viewers. I personally don't buy the argument that Antonio's "originality" (the term some folks apparently use for an abrasive and domineering personality) is a draw to the majority of HGTV viewers, and trying to "blur" the distinction between DIY's and HGTV's viewer demographics is a longer term blunder. Attracting a few hundred new viewers over from DIY, while losing many thousands of current and potential HGTV viewers is a short-sighted business decision. But whatever will be, will be, and as always, we all have a choice as to who we allow in our homes and on our TV screens.
