  1. designerflower- what part of Florida are you in? We are looking at the possibility of renting aplace down there for a year when my husband deploys…doing Disney pretty much every day ( after my older daughter does school of course).

  2. There must have been a huge response as it was supposed to continue as long as they had tickets. We looked into it when we went in February, but our trip was fairly last minute and the volunteer oppurtunities with kids were at least a month out as well as they said give two weeks for verification afterwards. My husband was supposed to be away on temporary duty so he offered that the girls and I could go back to Disney World for my younger daughter's 1st birthday…he ended having his schedule change and was able to go with us though.

  3. Like desingerflower said, ID is really quick and easy to sign up with…after that it can actually make things a little quicker as you can get responses to your email and quickly read them…if you don't want to go back to the board to respond you don't have to, but you can still know if people commented back to you…it saves a lot of wading through the board trying to find your old post.

  4. Leave it to our Super Fan, GAIL, to get excited about the bones on the GH2010!!!! This year's home is amazing and I love the size….. It is green in so many ways and I can't wait to hear what features, appliances and what LEED certification it receives. IS there a garden, a composting barrel, rain barrels, home automation system???? I will be out of town for a little bit, taking a small family vacation in the Keys. I promise to catch up as soon as I get back!!! And I am sure that MARIE will keep everyone entertained, with the MGTOTD's!!!! And COOP with his amazing knowledge…. and now we have some seasoned bloggies (those who have been through the entire process of entering, the winner being notified and the "neggies" parading through with their unpleasantries) who will keep it flowing as well!!! Take care! Love life by living green and having a dream!!!

  5. MARY- when will the full prize package and rules be updated for this year's Green Home? Will they be up by the time the virtual tour starts?

Our Army Family on March 18, 2010 at 4:32 pm
  6. So that folks in the area cant look in I am assuming. I went there andit was apparent that all sights to the inside were blocked, for obvious reasons.

  7. The Green Home is so cool! ;)

  8. The new Green Home is so cool!.. I'm thinking that little tower area could sleep someone on the floor if need be! After looking at the Dream HOme it seems quite small but I know that HGTV uses top of the line products so it will be small but amazing! :)

  11. I love seeing bones of the house. It's nice to see that-structurally-they are doing a nice job from the ground up. Nice to see someone building something that will survive the test of time. From what I've seen, looks like it has plywood sheathing instead of the composite ( stuff that I hate). (I'm not in construction, Hubby and I have just done so much DIY on our home-my opinions are much more "developed" than they were a few years ago.)
Thank goodness we have another house to dream about :) I can't wait to see more pics! (Hurray for the "positive" posters.)

  12. Thanks for letting us see the BONES of the house. I already love everything about the house and can't wait to see more.

  13. i've been to pinehills andall over the surrounding areas. They're some of the most beautiful places I've been all over the country. The site is perfect. You've the Pinehils community which is gorgeous in itself then Capecod is a short drive one way andBoston the other , awesome. For those of you that haven't been lucky enough to explore the above mentioned places, I promise you willnot be disappointed if you are fortunate enough to win this beautiful eco-friendly home in what I think is paradise. Truth be told I hope and pray that I win the keys to what I would call my dream home. Kevin

  15. April 1st can not come soon enough! I have been watching since the first second. The home is a dream of mine. The home looks very New England and very cozy. I dream to be sitting on that porch sipping a cool drink with my Red, White and Blue flag blowing in the sea breeze! I must admit I was wondering about the blinds on the windows too? But, no bother-I am sure the decorating team has wonderful plans for this home. I can't wait to enter everyday! Good luck to all!

  21. I've always had one major question about the dream home giveaways: does the winner actually have to move and take residence for a period of time before they may choose to sell, or does it matter if they choose to sell it immediately? I'm only asking because some of the places and homes are not exactly everyone's style, but could still benefit them to win it if they were able to sell. I've looked at all of the rules of the contest, and haven't seen any mention of this.

Guest on April 16, 2010 at 3:11 pm
  22. The house seems too small for me. I also do not consider ceramic a natural tile. It is the least durable of the tile families. Other than that the house is very pretty and has some great features. It could use more curb appeal. Looks somewhat blah in front. Just my opinions!-I am allowed to have them!! Thanks for a chane to win it.

  23. My dream would be one day go live on Cape Cod,but it's just a dream,my destiny is to live in this city where I live now not by choice, but by force of circumstances when my family called me to the USA.

  24. How can poor people win houses? If you are too poor and accidently win a house how do you keep it up?How do poor people pay utilities; insurance; and taxes on houses they win?Its next to impossible for poor people to win a house if they won accidently like me I'd have to sell the house I couldn't keep it,.I couldn't afford to keep it.

  25. Curious….these days, most homes have a half bath on the main floor. Making it easer for you, when you come in from working in the yard, or for company. Did I miss it, is there a half bath? And if not, why??

  28. The house is small, but big enough for me, my husband, and our son. My son likes the bunk bed. I can't tell, but the clothing in the room looks to be about his size. I would love to win this home!

  32. Hello, we love the house but would like to know what makes it green? The house looks great and has a lot of green accents but what makes it a green home? Are the materials used to build it FSC certified or sustainable? The paints used non-voc? What is it's carbon footprint? We noticed a few solar panels on the roof but little else in power needs or energy star appliances. Is it a LEED home? Thanks,

  35. This home becomes more amazing as I continue to view the videos. The town is also amazing. It has the small town feeling with some added perks. The tourist attractions of Plymouth is very nice. I grew up in a small town and have always wanted to eventually move back to those surroundings. My son and I would be in heaven living in this house. Everything is perfect, the house, the town, the beach. Who wouldn't be??

  36. I am probably asking you to repeat information but I just joined today. 5/21/10. Could someone tell me how the winner is selected? Random drawing or some other way? What are the annual real estate taxes on the 2010 green home? Monthly fees? I would appreciate any of this type of information and if someone will tell me where I can find the info on the site.
    I REALLY would appreciate it.
