You Wanted to Know
Hi all.
I’ve been breezing through your questions and thought I’d address some of the most interesting among them. Also, I’m posting another video vignette created by our senior visual designer Daniel Pratt. He shares views of the closet that houses the “brains” of the home (smart components), the door that leads to the basement and the basement in all its glory.

Q. What is the size of the property?
A. The lot is 100 feet deep (front to back) and 50 feet wide (side to side).
Q. What is the square footage of the home?
A. 2400 square feet
Q. What does the basement look like. What door leads to the basement?
A. Watch Daniel’s video
Q. Is the radiator chair comfortable?
A. Interior designer Linda Woodrum has sat in this chair and confirms that it is comfortable.
Q. How many closets are there?
A. There are five closets total, one in each of the secondary bedrooms, a walk-in closet in the master bathroom, a linen closet in the hall bathroom and a coat closet on the main level.

Do the taxes on the house get paid upfront or how does it work?
Will the basement be finished ? Also As far as the back yard turf goes: when my dog does his business where will the urine go and how easy is it to pick up #2
If you look at the outside pictures of the house and then look at the landing area, you can see that the large piece of artwork is completely covering a window there too. Also notice the dresser mirror in the girl's room is blocking the middle window. I wouldn't have thought of covering up any of the windows, but there are so many that maybe it's okay. Has anyone ever done that in their own house?
I really liked seeing the basement but would love to see the inside of the master bedroom closet. Just how much room is in there?
I love this house I would love to see the inside where I can get a better look. This would be a dream for me and my family we would like to move out of kentucky and relocate somewhere else so this is a great opportunity for us to go.my family says I am crazy that they wont give me a home I said well if I win then you can say sorry for laughing.I vote everyday and will continue. There is so many great things with this home to move the location is even good to get a job there.I also love watching HGTV you guys are great.
Does the house have structured wiring? (Ethernet, Cable, Phone)?
that is good they have all this
Dear HGTV Blog, I am NOT liking this new commenting system… how do we know who’s commenting on what?
when I appear on the screen later it says have not filled out my entry but I did wh does it keep doing this p.hall51@yahoo.com
The only question I have at this time is….. I want to know about the cook top in the kitchen, what kind is it and how do you work it?
Anyone know approximately the property taxes on this house?
i am not really into microwaves to much I use the occasionally so it really dont matter
if they are high you can always refinance it cause it woul d be worth it.I seen where some said 200 thousand but I am not really sure.
I love the radiator chair who would of thought of that bright idea. I watch HGTV everyday they come up with things I never would have thought of you guys are great!!!!!
Good Morning:) I've been looking at all the pictures of the green house inside and out. And I noticed that a few of the windows are being covered by mirror and by a framed art. Are there window coverings on those windows too? In case you would not want them to be covered?
I have one question.. what is the exact address? I need to find out about schools near the area..
Please Reply! Thank you!
I really can't cook… I would learn if i won this house, but for the first few weeks i'd need a microwave! haha
THANX 4 ALL THE INFO IS BEEN VERY HELPFUL
Thank you so much for this!
I'd like to know that as well.
I have to ask as I've been wondering….can doggies go potty on that artificial grass out back? If it would not discolor…clean up would be much easier than normal grass I'm assuming.
I have studied this home from day one and it is really exceptional! The designers have thought of everything! Go Green Country! I always refer to this home as mine…my sons and I would be so at home in this house. The boys love the loft area,,, I ofcourse am in love with the master bedroom and the do room. I am excited about the possibilities of the basement as extra living space. This is my favorite home so far and the location is perfect! Totally in Love!!!
I've been wondering the same thing…
I love the green home. My question is ; what is the sales tax there & what about property taxes on the home? Thanks everyone for videos & other info on the home.
2 weeks to go! I do have a small request for Mary and the team; Please no early announcement on the winner this time. The early announcement on the Dream Home was kind of a downer. Besides, I can wait to share the good news with everyone, LOL!
Love the quirkiness of the radiator chair. My biggest question is about the taxes that go along with this prize. Does anyone have a good estimate?
That is the fun of the HGTV Dream Homes isn't it..just dreaming. We, as so many have had a disasterous 2 years, I wonder if I will be able to make the climb back, and wonder if we will ever own a home again. My daughter and I have so much fun talking about our life in this house. First and foremost, we would go looking for our dog. Then we would beg for our cat back. Ohhhh to have our non traditional family back again…especially our dog. Off to dream somemore!
thanks for the video and all the Q and A's….those helped really give a great overview of the home….that gives such a great insight into the basement and the inner-workings of the home!!!! i'm so amazingly in awe of this home and community!!!!
