How are you feeling? Disappointed? Green with envy? Michigan has been pretty hard hit by this recession, so I am rather pleased that Lady Lucky shone down so brightly on this happy couple.

Pay a return visit tomorrow for exclusive video interviews with Kari and her husband, Mike. Remember, we’re asking her questions you submitted to this very blog. Keep your ears perked: we may mention your name in the video!

Boy, was it exciting. From more than 16 million entries, HGTV’s Senior Vice President of Brand Management and Scheduling, Sarah Cronan, plucked the golden egg (well, it looked more like a Ping-Pong ball with a number on it, but still). Home planner Jack Thomasson — looking exceptionally spiffy in vest and jeans — was on hand to assist Sarah with the proceedings.

What happens next? Our TV producers get to work planning out the giveaway special – and winner ambush! Who knows, you could be getting a knock on your door.  If the buzzer rings, please come out on your front porch and say hi.

AHHHHH, I can’t stand waiting. I know, I know — be patient. But I want to know who the winner of the HGTV Green Home is right now! My fingers are crossed that it will be one of our “Greamers” who has been reading the blog or posting comments regularly.

Many of you have asked for more details on pest control at HGTV Green Home. The grounds were treated with termite pre-treatment underslab and a final spray prior to completion. Some building materials also serve as their own form of non-toxic pest control (no wood in low areas, cementitious products, etc.).

Kim, the big HGTV Green Home circles that appear on the floors in the online tour are Web graphics. Don’t worry — the floors themselves are beautiful and clean.
