Let’s see: it’s 90 and sunny in Port St. Lucie today. If I were there, I’d probably hop in the car and head over to Jensen Beach for some sun and then fuel up with fish tacos at a local beachside bar.

From left to right: master bedroom, dining room and guest bedroom.

Today in Port St. Lucie the temp is going to be in the low 80s. Sunny skies, no rain in sight. A perfect Friday to sneak out of work early and head over to Hurricane Grill in Tradition Village Center for a grilled mahi-mahi sandwich and a cold one.

I was thinking about the HGTV Green Home on Saturday morning. I was sitting in my living room with my coffee in hand, checking the weather on my laptop and wondering what clothing to pack for our trip to Port St. Lucie (the HGTV.com staff is heading south this month to gather info for the online tour that launches in April). Then — with good eats always foremost in my mind — I clicked over to the Chowhound message boards in search of restaurant reviews. For this trip, I am thinking casual joints with pretty ocean views and really yummy seafood.

As I looked out the window onto a very brown, barren, cold Tennessee landscape, I imagined driving through the pretty neighborhood of Tradition – nothing but aqua blue skies, big puffy clouds, seagulls and long stretches of highway surrounding me. Then I wondered what I will see when we pull up to the home site and walk through the front door. Recycled hardwood floors, beautiful hand-fashioned furnishings and sunlight streaming through big picture windows, perhaps? The interior and green features remain somewhat of a mystery, even to me. But to tell you the truth, I rather enjoy the suspense and anticipation. I’ve been making my own mental notes and lists of questions I can’t wait to ask house planner Jack Thomasson and interior designer Linda Woodrum when I arrive in Florida.

How about you? Are there things you’ve been dying to know about HGTV’s second eco-friendly home? Can you imagine what it would be like to relocate to Tradition, Fla., and call the HGTV Green Home 2009 home sweet home? Post your questions, daydreams, musings and thoughts below.
