  1. It was BS. Eric's designs were on point, his esitmates for the challenges were dead on. Eric managed the design and budget in the finale AND Drew was even surprised by the workload he took on!!

Melissa screwed the pooch early on with the budget and got hammered for it. She was nearly SENT HOME for the BUDGET mess…… Her designs were nice – but boring….

WAIT – it must have been the shoe moulding that got Eric hung up…thats it…the 3/4 round base trim stuck in their heads….BullSH!T….if he would have left the floor uneven he would have been chewed out for that…so no way to cut it.

I do not get how they "juged" the winner. it wasnt based on who was the better project manager, the better designer over all, the one with the best ideas…..it seemed stupid to be honest…..they did not have a score card over the whole season to compare contestant strengths and weaknesses against….you would think the contestant tht added the most value in total throughout the whole season would win the show…I thouight thast was the point?

This was our first season watching the show…and I found WAY too many flaws in its execution and design judgments.

It felt like…she cried…threw out the feminist " I am here to prove that a woman can do what a man can do too"…booo hooo….and boom

Here you go cry-baby $50,000 for your tears…we'll just forget you screwed a $30,000+ budget in the 1st or second episode and was nearly voted to go home for that screw up.

Not to mention Eric was never NOT ONCE mentioned as a contestant to be sent home in all 6 episodes!!! Maybe he should have worn a dress and cried too…that would have leveled the BS field

  2. From the beginning I was a team Drew fan…Eric and Melissa worked very well together from the start but I definately think Eric was the stronger contestant with fabulous design ideas as well as always making the best decisions to increase value and fulfill his task perfectly…I think Eric should have won…hands down…congrats to the final four…

  3. Without a doubt, the brothers picked the wrong winner. Eric Eremita is the rightful winner.
He was robbed of the $50K and the title. Period.

Since the first episode, I have been glued to this show and week after week, I have been amazed by Eric Eremita's design vision, work ethic and stunning renovations.

To be perfectly honest, there really was no competition.
Eric was/IS the only winner — since episode 1.
He was the greatest asset to Team Drew and pulled that team all the way to victory at the end.

It was 100% obvious to anyone who watched the show, that Eric was the most knowledgeable (year of the house = 1958. Bam!), well rounded, hard working, business oriented and overall most skilled competitor in the entire competition.

I was flat out shocked when the brothers announced Melissa as the winner.

Melissa was a decent designer with good enough skills, but even she admitted (more than once), that the secret to her success was being on Eric's team.

I am totally disappointed with the brothers and HGTV.
It seems they gave a sympathy win (cue the crocodile tears) to the co-pilot, Melissa.
We all know that Eric was flying that plane all season long.

Please, HGTV, give him another shot at the title —- by giving him his own spin-off show!
It would be a hit show for HGTV.

I believe he has earned his place on your network and his loyal fans would love to tune in and watch more of his talent showcased on his own show.

    Team Eric for the win!

  4. I know it’s a TV show and it needs drama but if you base the show on what they said it was based on; Eric was the winner.
Design skills were there with execution. He took over whole rooms from people, they let him and called him names but did he execute, yes. My vote was for Eric and if you watch all the shows back to back, he is Consistant and ow yea, he didn’t faint when he got cut and didn’t cry from the pressure. Ya know what, I think he is prettier too, yea, i said it!!!

  5. As a new viewer to the show, and catching up on older seasons. I’m really in awe and disappointed about final decision. I’m no expert in home improvement, but when I saw Eric speak on what he knows and how he did it, was great. Finesse and had much less mistakes than the winner. Hopelly that guy Eric gets his own show or something, due to the rigged final decision.

  6. The Brothers got it all wrong! I don't understand how they felt Melissa was the best, strongest and most talented player over Eric. She was horrible with budget in the beginning of the series and she continued to ride on Eric's coattails throughout the whole series. She admitted on numerous occasions that she could not have made it to the end without Eric and his designs and his ideas. Eric was obviously was the strongest and most consistent player throughout the whole series. He has so much talent and he continuously proved it every episode. How the Brothers could have passed him up over Melissa I will never understand. Big mistake on their part!

  7. I definitely don’t agree with the outcome. Eric should have won, hands down. From the very beginning he showed his strengths through his creativity and artistry in every task. He was the strongest player by far. He had the confidence and determined and driven personality, with the talent to back it up. My entire family was very disappointed that he didn’t win. We really hope to see him have his own show on HGTV because he would definitely have a following.

  8. Not because we've been friends since our teenage years, but Eric should have won and here's why.. Although she was good, his designs, work ethic, personality, ability to stand his ground on what you like and don't like during any phase is the true Eric. She pulled the "I'm a girl and I can cry on cue" card. And that my old friend is the Gods honest truth. Now give Eric his OWN show, HE DESERVES IT.

  9. Hugely disappointed doesn't even touch it! She was always "good" (except with the budget), but never great. Others took on larger projects with more risks but really showed their style throughout the renovation process on each episode. We were very disappointed with the brothers' choice for the winner!

  10. Sorry Guys, you got it wrong. I was initially biased against Eric, but he was the true winner.
