The Junk Gypsies are back!

The Junky Gypsies Host Garage Sale Wars on HGTV.

Here’s the scoop:
Two friendly neighbors with tons of stuff and die-hard competitive spirits go head to head in dueling garage sales. Experts Amie and Jolie Sikes give each family 48 hours to refurbish items, prep and price their “sales on steroids” underneath front yard circus tents. With crowds gathered around the block, the sales open at 8 a.m. sharp. The family with the highest earnings at noon wins the garage sale war and a $10k prize.

Watch Garage Sale Wars this Friday, starting at 8/7c.

Join the gypsies for a live Twitter party during the two episodes at 8 and 8:30 p.m. ET with hashtags #garagesalewars and #junkgypsies.

Hey y'all. I am coming to Texas next week to visit in College Station. Is your store open yet???

  2. Connie Horn says:

Does it have to be a WAR? Couldn't y'all find a better word. I am so tired of everything having to be a fight or a WAR! Come on now, as imaginative as these ladies are, you should be able to do better.

  3. Page Michie says:

I wish HGTV would bring back the Junk Gypsies show from last year. Love their style and how they decorate homes. Please bring this one back!!!! Excited to see their new show!

  4. Michelle Graham says:

HGTV is missing out on a great show. Very entertaining and the girls have such a fun spirit to watch. Put these ladies back on the air. I love their designs tips.

  5. Rhonda. Dore says:

I agree with Page and Michelle. They are too fun, talented and imaginative for yet ANOTHER so-so
hosting bit. Come on, HGTV. Get your horse saddled. We are all waiting…. Tap, tap, tap…

  17. rachel says:

I saw Garage Sale Wars for the first time 5/10/13 and it was great! Amie and Jolie are fun and give creative ideas for upscaling and repurposing. Finally, a fun and practical show on HGTV which is not about redoing houses!

  18. Chris says:

I want to see more of these Garage Sale Wars and I too love Flea Market Flip two of my new favorite shows on HGTV…..keep up the good work.

  19. Cheryl Carter says:

I loved the Garage Sale Wars show. They did a terrific job on putting the show together. I was able to go to both garage sale tapings and everyone involved did an outstanding job. Can't wait to see more Garage Sale Wars in the coming weeks. Way to go Amie and Jolie!
I sure hope that HGTV picks up the series. It was a great show!

  20. Karen says:

Loved the Garage Sale Wars and Flea Market Flip. i know the perfect person to participate in the flea market! When will there be more Garage Sale wars? I have not found them coming up yet.

  21. UncommonSensesc says:

I cannot believe the prices the buyers will pay for this painted-up stuff! I can go on Craigslist and purchase beautiful, wood furniture at less than half the cost they're selling it for! And the buyers act like these things are just a bargain! Taking a $50 armoire, removing the doors and painting it makes it worth $300 like I'm the Queen of Sheba! They took a very nice dinette set and put wooden boards where the glass used to be and – well, you guessed it, painted it and got, if I remember correctly, $600 for it! Last week on Craigslist a cherry table and 6 chairs sold for $100 – and it was beautiful! Not painted black or red, just gorgeous cherry wood! What is wrong with everybody???

    • faithautumn says:

OK QUEEN OF BORING……. There's nothing wrong with everyone else , it's you that has a problem, you are the class of people that has to have everything shiny oh my god my table has a scratch ! Now I am going to lose sleep over it.. OMG lady wake up , not everyone want's just boring finished wood in there home , some people like color and different and character all of which you can't see in your boring little world of brand name shiny cherry wood.. UGH How sad you can't appreciate the creative minds of re-purposing furniture, so you keep living in the world of craigslist with all the weirdo's CHERRY WOOD QUEEN.. UGH BORING………….

    • Maria says:

I so agree. Why are these customers buying this stuff at this crazy prices? Its a garage sale for goodness sake; not a store. I sure wish these people would shop at my garage sale – I have nice furniture too – but can't command those prices! Its staged, right?

  22. faithautumn says:

Can't wait for some more of the Garage Sale War show's , loved the show , keep them coming and how can we find out if there filming in different states so we can have a chance to be a part of it…. this is so much better then Cash & Cari show on HGTV Her show is nothing more then an estate sale , somewhat boring , met Cari in person she's not friendly she act's nice on the show but in person is a different story……..the garage sale wars is exciting and fun and so creative just love it…. bring more please………….

  23. Hope says:

when is the next garage sale wars…can't find the listing anywhere.

  24. Deb says:

Unfortunately, we did not get to view the show. I guess they don't show all shows the same, because I could never find it. We would love to know when we get to see the new show. I still love Junk Gypsies!

  25. faithautumn says:

As far as I know they have only done the 2 shows that aired on may 10th , and they were awesome so hopefully soon they will start airing on a regular basis, when you type the show in it only shows the one date of may 10th so it only aired one time, more then likely they will repeat that first show and then hopefully more.. well I'm off to find some good treasures today many sales listed today here……

  26. Joyce says:

I saw Garage Sale Wars on HGTV a couple of times this month, and now I can't find it on the schedule at all. Is is coming back??

  27. Tav W, says:

I want the old Junk Gypsies show back! I was so inspired and amazed watching those gorgeous ladies at work. I liked the new Garage Sale Wars show—it was okay—but I agree with the person who asked why everything has to be a "war": or competition. It's getting real old, real fast. I want to see good, old-fashioned creativity and imagination paired with ingenuity and mechanical inclination. Plus, any person who could even consider placing their late mom's potting table out for a yard sale is not someone I'd care to watch on TV. Yeah, it has no MONETARY value, only sentimental. She knew what she was doing. Have the JGs re-do it as a rustic computer table, price it WAY high so no one buys it and then they have her mother's table, repurposed for their own use. I was SO rooting for the other couple in that episode. Sorry, but I was.

  28. lisa says:

Great show would love to see more of them. Can't find it on the schedule. Will there be more? I also love Flea Market Flip. I have learned so much from watching these shows. The other day I actually caught myself saying that an old book case had some bones to it. Ha ha ha ha. Gotta love it.

  29. Dr. Sandra Clark says:

I LOVE "MAKEOVERS!!" So-o-oo, I LOVE Junk Gypsies, as well as Cash and Cari, and lots of the
older makeover shows that I don't think are on anymore. What's with the "Cousins" having a MANY-HOUR
time slot?????????????? Don't you have enough designers and ideas about things OTHER than just
    The Cousins?

  30. Lin says:

Well, I didn't get to see the show! I thought it was a new series, but haven't found it anywhere!?? I wish HGTV would bring back the Junk Gypsies! It was my favorite show, of all their programming. Most of designers just do the same thing in every house. Sooo boring!

  31. Linda says:

I can't believe I sat inside on a perfectly beautiful Saturday afternoon and watched three consecutive Flea Market Flip shows today! I love that show, but it sure didn't help me get any of that horrid Bermuda grass out of my flower garden.

  32. chris janota says:

id like to see an episode where they use technology to get their route planned. Like the Garage Sale Rover mobile app or the city wide garage sale calendar on Prime Garage Sales

  33. EducatedHillbilly says:

    Y'all. Y'all. Y'all.

We get it, you're from the south. But does every word out of their wars have to be "Y'all"

  34. Sky says:

Love this show!! I accidentally found it this morning and only got to watch the one show! Are there more? Will there be more? I miss the Junk Gypsies and this show takes care of that fix! More please, and thank you!!

  35. Audrey Dunn says:

Please bring this show back, I only found it accidentally and missed most of it. I checked online and they said it would on this Friday at 8:00pm but it does not come up on the TV schedule.

  36. jxb says:

I do hope this show doesn't have the same endless plot as all the other HGTV shows end up in. I really used to enjoy HGTV with the design shows, etc. Now its endless reruns of just a few shows like Property Brothers, and Love it or List it, all with the same staged plot. It's almost as if all the HGTV executives got together and said "What can we do to ruin HGTV's success as quickly as possible? Well, let's show hundreds of reruns of a few boring staged shows with exactly the same plot 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This will quickly nauseate our views so much they'll stop watching." Well, congratulations HGTV, you did it! BARF!

    From one disgusted ex-viewer.

  37. eileen vaught says:

I have looked and looked for this on my hgtv guide. Please bring it back! So fun to watch! Loved Fixer upper too. I love alot of your programs but I can't afford 30,000 for a room These two programs gave great ideals for people who aren't afraid to try something on their own.

  38. Suzanna says:

I am with you disgusted ex viewer I am fed up with reruns even though I do like property brothers and love it or list it but it gets old after you have seen them all. I really wish they would put junk gypsies, flea market flip, the yard sale wars and a oldie Decorating Cents and they need to be more creative and have more shows on repurposing and crafts.

  39. Kay says:

I agree what is with all the reruns? Saturday afternoons at 4:00 used to have really cool show Donna Decorates Dallas Junk Gypsies and others I can't think of right now. What gives? Please give us some new shows like these again!!!

  40. Jane says:

I agree with Suzanna,. but I would also like to see Buy Herself in the US. Renovation Raiders is a miss. I'd rather watch reruns of House Hunters than this new show.

  41. Gigi says:

Please bring Junk Gypsies back and take off all the property type shows OFF!

  42. carol says:

I click right past shows of arguing adults trying to sell homes, etc. Why can't we have some old fav styles showing fresh ideas for the homes we already treasure. We're not going to move. I'm very offended by families seeing their remodeled homes the first time, and kids & adults can't think of anything to say but "Oh my God". Really, now, does this family respect the presence of God? Teach your kids proper use of the word.

Give us some ideas to use our talents, creativity, etc, and some credit for stretching our minds a bit. Bravo to those above who asked to lose the word War to describe what should be fun idea sharings.

  43. sunshinekathymae says:

I have followed the Junk Gypsies for years in magazines and read everything I can on them! Please, please, please tape more Garage Sale War shows!!!! I caught the first ones the other night and wish I had taped them. I would love to see the Junk Gypsies develop a couple of shows. One where they run around the country collecting "junk", and one where the do the garage sale wars. HGTV needs some new shows. I used to watch religiously; but I am really tired of all the shows on now, especially the many reruns.

  44. Eric Michael says:

GarageSaleAcademy.com loves Junk Gypsies!! Garage Sale Wars also looks very interesting. Can't wait to see it on HGTV.

  45. Linda says:

Come on, Connie. Lighten up. This whole country would be a lot better if we'd all throw out being "politically correct" and go back to saying what we mean and re-gaining a sense of humor.

  46. Sarah says:

I have to agree. I know competition shows sell, but we'd be better off as a culture if we created collaborative shows that showed people teaching and learning from each other.

  47. Linda says:

Yeah, I'd like to know that, too. Does the show take the yard sale money to off-set some of the prize money?

  48. Liz says:

You either have a creative streak or you pay for it- we need more free spirited ARTISTS than same-ol, same-ol chain store furniture: beyond boring and actually the only over-priced bore going around… you either get it or not. Suppse it saver for you to shop at IKEA.

  49. ebra says:

well uncommonSensesc not everyone wants there items to look like everyone elses! That is fine you like your stuff to be stuffy and uptight. but some of us like items that are fun and not afraid to have wear and tear also it is about enjoyment with friends and just to have plain old fun!

  50. Shabby girl says:

Hey wake up this is 2013 we like to live comfortable and shabby without worrys about scratching or destroying those perfect pieces of furniture like when I was growing up in my moms house in the 70's where we could not even put our feet up on the coffee table! Lady shabby chic is in so don't be so dramatic about these wonderfuly recycled piece that are done by such creative people…..

  51. ellejaywhe says:

Amen! There is no creativity to HGTV. I already own my own home and am not interested in buying another. That seems to be the only type of show on. What happened to the shows that showed you how to redo your abode without the remodel? Junk Gypsies filled that void in your programming. I used to be an HGTV addict, now barely even watch 30 mInutes a month.
