My name is Olivia and I am the PR Coordinator for Shopbop (the premier online shopping destination for what’s new and what’s next in fashion and style) and our new men’s shop, East Dane, which recently held a photo shoot with Anthony and John of HGTV’s Cousins Undercover.
I also happen to be Anthony Carrino’s sister, which made for an interesting intersection of personal and work life! The photo shoot was an incredible experience for everyone involved. On shoot day, both our men’s and women’s fashion directors, photographers, and assistants were all on set; as they say, it takes a village. What made the whole experience so unique was the fact that it was truly a family affair – I got to work side-by-side with my brother, our parents, and my cousin in a way we’d never done before.
As everyone who watches The Cousins has come to know, our family is a bit boisterous, so it made for a comical day. Of course, my mom showed up with a gorgeous homemade sour cream coffee cake, which was devoured (rather quickly) by the team and the guys on the job site. And since the photo shoot was taking place at one of Brunelleschi Construction’s (The Cousins company) project sites, 8 Erie, my dad was there supervising the work, but also managed to sneak away to the groomer and get a nice hair cut.
It was one of the coldest days of the winter (though since the polar vortex we’ve had to reconsider what we classify as cold!), so everyone was bundled in their warmest winter gear. We also brought in some heavy duty space heaters which turned the inside of 8 Erie into a pleasant work space (and of course Anthony, John, and my dad tried to buy the heaters for future projects).
One of the best parts of the shoot was when the whole family got to jump in to some shots, creating some adorable family pictures that we’ll all cherish for a long time. Not only was it interesting on a personal level to see my two worlds collide, but the intersection of fashion and construction made for some incredible photos and a wonderful shoot day!
