Confession time:  we have a secret crush that we just can’t hide any longer.  It’s time to come out and proclaim our love for Pinterest.

Of course, if you follow us on social media, you probably know this “confession” isn’t completely true…our “secret” crush has never been much of a secret.  We’re very proud of our healthy obsession with Pinterest.   With thousands of inspiring rooms, decorating tips, and DIY pins, it just seems natural to spend most of our time there.

So you’ll understand why we are so excited to share that HGTV is being featured in this week’s Pin Picks.  This front-page editorial curates the “best of the best” pins centered around weekly themes.  This week’s theme is House Hacks and there you’ll discover our most popular room-by-room projects, design tips, and clever solutions around the home.

But pins speak louder than words, so click over and check it out now.   And if you don’t follow all of our boards yet, be sure to do that, too.

Summer is the season at HGTV that we spend most of our time showcasing beautiful outdoor spaces.  But some rooms inside the home tend to hold our attention all year long.  Kitchens and baths are always the two most talked about spaces on our websites and social media pages.  Viewers are either dreaming of a brand new kitchen or bath, planning a new project, or finishing a renovation.  Kitchens and baths are just a hot topic any time of the year.

That’s why we thought it would be fun to get together with the Scripps Networks’ family of brands and host a Kitchen & Bath Hour all month long. Tuesdays (8/7c) in July, you can find HGTV, DIYNetwork, HGTVRemodels, and HGTV Frontdoor sharing our most inspiring kitchen and bath designs, clever storage tips, and money-saving project ideas.

And it’s all happening at our favorite social media destination, Pinterest.  It’s super easy to join us.  Just log on to Pinterest Tuesday evenings and click on the special board, where we will be hosting the event.  Then just wait for the “pin-spiration”…we’ll be there with you pinning LIVE.

Never joined a pin party?  Get all the details on what they’re about right here.

So, whether you’re dreaming or doing, you don’t want to miss our Kitchen & Bath Hour, Tuesdays at 8p/7c.  See you on Pinterest!

And in the meantime, set the mood with these beautiful kitchens and baths.

Important Alert: We love and value our HGTV fans, so it’s important that we let you know that there are unsavory scammers out there who want to take advantage of your love for us!

We don’t want you to be a victim of fraud. Please beware of any communication that you receive purporting to be from HGTV, particularly any “official looking letters” or random phone calls that request that you divulge personal financial information such as your social security, bank account, and credit card numbers — or asks you to purchase anything, including pre-paid credit cards.

If you believe that a network representative truly did reach out to you and you want to confirm the specific information you received, send us your name and either scan the letter or forward the email with the information you received to us at castingverification@scrippsnetworks.com. One of the many wonderful things about working at HGTV is being around folks who love to help their community and give back to others.  That’s especially apparent with our talented designers and renovation experts.

If you follow John Colaneri and Anthony Carrino from HGTV’s Cousins Undercover, you’ve probably noticed them out everywhere across the country helping homeowners in need.  That’s not only the premise of their show; it’s what they love to do!

One really exciting project they’ve been working on with The Ellen Show just saw its amazing completion this week.  Yesterday the guys revealed a brand new, completely furnished home for Ellen viewer, Susie Conway and her family.

If you didn’t catch the show, watch a clip here.

Not only was this a storybook happy ending for this incredible family, that new home was nothing short of fabulous!  And we have to brag for just a second…the entire space was designed with products from the HGTV HOME line of interior and outdoor furniture, paint, wallpaper and lighting.

Here are a few of my favorite rooms:

The Conways’ new dining room. Susie wanted to include the saying ‘Be kind to one another’ to keep Ellen’s spirit of generosity alive in their home.

Clean, bright, and offering plenty of storage, the Conways’ new kitchen is a perfect place for cooking meals together and entertaining family and friends.

The new family room focuses on family first – perfect for a tight-knit crew like the Conways!

See a look you love?  You can bring it home!  Discover more designs and find product details over on our special Pinterest board.

As a proud, card-carrying mama’s boy, I’m “mushy” about Mom 365 days a year. But this weekend is Mother’s Day and we men get a “free pass” to be extra sentimental about the special women in our lives.

Probably the most wonderful thing about this weekend is that we celebrate Mom in all walks of life…from the mom who’s just starting out to our moms that are now grandmas and great grandmas…and everyone else in between, even mommy-to-be!

Depending on the timeline in your career as mom, you may be spending the weekend planning, designing, or furnishing your first nursery to make room for baby.

If you’re in that group, consider HGTV HOME your nursery central.  Whether you love traditional, modern or in between, HGTV HOME has just released two collections of Nursery furniture to fit your style – at an affordable price.

The HGTV HOME Baby collections were designed to grow with your child and family. For instance, I’m loving the Grayson “4-in-1″ crib–it switches from crib to toddler to daybed to full size bed.  And the Hayden crib converts to a pair of twin headboards.  These pieces just make for a very smart (and stylish) long term investment.

Spring has sprung …and here at HGTV we are so ready to get outdoors and enjoy the fresh colors and textures, especially after a long, gray winter.

And from the looks of things on Instagram, you all are just as excited to welcome the warm weather season.  So we thought it would be fun to celebrate our favorite time of year with a month-long photo challenge.  For the next 30 days we’re sharing our favorite spring pics from you, our Instagram friends.

And here’s the fun part…each day has a new challenge:

The challenge has already begun, but it isn’t too late to join.

Four Easy Steps to Take the Spring Fling Challenge:

1)  If you haven’t yet, follow @HGTV on Instagram (we promise you’ll love us there too).

2)  Check the roster above (or on our Instagram feed) for each day’s new challenge.  If the challenge of the day is sunshine, then share your interpretation of spring sunshine, whether that’s a sunny meadow or an old milk glass you repurposed into a bright yellow flower vase.

3)  Most importantly, TAG your pic with #HGTVSpring.

4)  Be creative.  Have fun.  Find unique, clever, and interesting takes on the subject of each day’s challenge.

It’s that easy.  Just snap, tag, and share and each day we’ll feature our favorites.  Not only is it a great excuse to take a “sick day” and go to the park (as long as your boss isn’t on Instagram), but if you’re featured, you get HGTV “cred” and the chance to impress all your friends!

So put on your artist’s hat and bring us back something beautiful.

Happy spring snapping!

Last year we brought you a sneak peek of a hot, new reality competition, Flip It To Win It.  Now the show’s back with a full season of NEW episodes (Tuesdays 11/10c) to take you on the ultimate flip adventure.

It all starts at the steps of the courthouse with six teams of expert flippers in a bidding war for three abandoned homes.

Expert flippers go head-to-head in HGTV’s “Flip It To Win It”

And here’s the kicker….it’s all sight unseen, they have no idea what they’re getting themselves into. When the dust settles…three auctions are won, three houses get renovated, and three finished homes compete on the market for top dollar. In the end, we get to find out who took the biggest risk and who came out on top.

But the real fun is following the teams as they take high-stakes flipping to a whole new level.  These guys and gals really know their stuff:

TEAM JOSH and ALISHA
Josh Michaelian and Alisha Karandikar are a force to be reckoned with. Josh developed a passion for real estate at a very early age learning from his father and uncle how to buy, renovate, and flip properties. When not busy buying property you can find Josh spending time with his family or dining at one of his many favorite restaurants.

Alisha is a Bay Area native and has assisted hundreds of buyers and sellers in her 17 years as a realtor. Alisha’s success comes from her genuine love of helping people with one of the biggest decisions of their lives. Alisha is also the mother of 3 wonderful kids, loves sports and enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

TEAM JOSH and ALISHA

TEAM BEAU and GREG
Beau Eckstein and Greg Cromwell are personal friends as well as business partners for flipping real estate. Beau Eckstein is a licensed real estate broker and managing director of a private money fund, which lends to other house flippers.  His real passion lies within his company, SFR Ventures, Inc., which is focused on designing, developing and renovating properties throughout the San Francisco Bay area.

Greg is a contractor and owner of Naked Construction for the past five years and has been living in Concord, CA for 29 years. Greg specializes in complete house transformations and has a keen eye for design.  Before embracing his career in real estate renovation, he was building custom motorcycles and attended the police academy. Beau and Greg share a passion for sushi, weight lifting and mixed martial arts.

TEAM BEAU and GREG

TEAM MIKE and MANLY
Manly Danh and Mike Bui are masters in the world of real estate. These young guns are at the top of their game with almost 20 years of real estate experience between them.

While Manly oversees sales, real estate development and manages a portfolio of investors throughout the world in real estate investment opportunities, Mike is focused on hunting for great real estate bargains, buying, remodeling and selling them for top dollar.

TEAM MIKE and MANLY

TEAM DOM and KRISTA
Krista Garren and Domenique “Dom” Montes have a passion for real estate and renovation.  Through their company, Funders Group, they are purchasing and renovating homes from California to Washington, Arizona to Florida.

Krista is the real estate hunter and loves to find a diamond in the rough, while Dom and his crew renovate, turning every house into a home with sophisticated and luxurious touches house hunters love. When they’re not busy flipping homes, you can find Krista at the stables riding her horse and Dom relaxing at the gym!

TEAM DOM and KRISTA

TEAM TODD and MICHAEL
Michael is the numbers guy and worked with two of Silicon Valley’s largest brokerages; Grubb and Ellis and CB Richard Ellis. Michael researches available homes using online resources only he understands.  He’s the mad scientist of foreclosure evaluation.

Todd is the shark at the auction with over 15 years experience building, remodeling and selling residential and commercial real estate.  For years he built high-end homes and knows exactly how to bring those luxury finishes to every home he buys.

TEAM TODD and MICHAEL

TEAM RICK and VINNIE
Realtor, Rick Kaluza and contractor Vinnie Sebastiano have over 30 years of real estate and renovation experience between them. Both of Italian decent, Vinnie is originally from Bensonhurst Brooklyn and Rick is from the San Francisco Bay Area. Brought together by a mutual friend, the late Rich Manfredonia, a major figure in San Francisco construction, they formed an unbreakable partnership. Together they bring their expertise and relentless work ethic to a business where only the most determined succeed.

While Rick is a master of the real estate market, Vinnie is the king of remodels. Together, they are untouchable when it comes to maximizing profit from the highest quality renovations. There is never a project too small or too big (for these meatballs) and everything they touch turns to gold. When they’re not buying and selling homes you can find them enjoying food and drink with friends and family at their local neighborhood San Francisco restaurants and watering holes.

TEAM RICK and VINNIE

Earlier this week, “Tonight Show” anchor/funny man, Jimmy Fallon publicized his definitive “list” of Olympic superlatives (although I’m doubtful of his chances to get Olympic Committee approval any time soon).

Watch the hilarious clip here.

Among the outrageous titles (Pierre Boda – World’s Tallest Jonas Brother, Steven Holcomb – Most Likely to Find an Old Hot Wing in his Pocket)…American snowboarder, Chas Guldemond, was voted Most Likely to Host an Interior Design Show on HGTV.

Oh Jimmy, you are crazy, crazy!

But while we wait for Chas to call, we thought it would be fun to turn the tables.

If HGTV could host our own version of the Olympics, who would be on the Design Dream Team?  Tell us your team picks in the comments below, and in the meantime, check out the work of these potential “hopefuls.”
