Sometimes choosing the right color palette for your home can feel as stressful as finding the perfect mate, after all color can affect everything from your mood to your appetite. Well, I’ve got good news for you color-confused lovebirds: the folks at HGTV HOME by Sherwin-Williams have created a cute questionnaire that will help you find your perfect match, well your perfect HGTV HOME color match at least.

Head over to the HGTV HOME by Sherwin-Williams Facebook page, take the quiz, and you could win two gallons of HGTV HOME paint to transform your love nest just in time for Valentine’s Day.
It’s Friday, and thank goodness–it’s been a long week around here. I’m ready to get out and enjoy some of the Spring-like weather we have on deck at HGTV headquarters in East Tennessee. On my schedule? A little thrifting, of course. I’m not the only one that loves digging for thrifted treasure: HGTV fans couldn’t get enough of Lara Spencer’s show Flea Market Flip, so we’re moving up the premiere of season two to March 15th.

With only one-hour to shop and $500 in pocket, each Flea Market Flip team must scavenge for items to fix-up and flip, ultimately creating worthy treasures for repurchase. The teams must then transform their drab finds into top-notch designs to sell at auction the following day – quickly turning from designers to salespeople who must attract customers, negotiate, and sell their refurbished items. In the end, only one team walks away with bragging rights and a $5,000 cash prize.
Catch the season two premiere of Flea Market Flip March 15th at 9:00p.m. ET, right here on HGTV.
It’s the dead of winter, and I have the tropics on my mind. I’m not alone–HGTV viewers loved the two Island Hunters specials that came out on New Year’s Day so much, we’ve decided to dish up 8 more full-length episodes later this year.

You can look forward to episodes taking place on islands in the Bahamas, the West Coast and even the Northeast when the series debuts, all featuring the dreamy real estate fantasies you’ve come to expect from the House Hunters family. Tell me: what tropical island would you like to own a piece of?

Here at HGTV, we all have our design weaknesses. Some of us pine for over-the-top kitchens, and others swoon for spa-like bathrooms. Me? With one small child at home and another on the way, I cannot get enough of the nursery and kids’ rooms featured on ChildStyle with Rebecca Woolf.

Mommy blogger extraordinaire Woolf is your guide to the hippest kids’ rooms and swankiest baby abodes in town. You can watch video tours of each inspiring room, and click through photo galleries of girls’ rooms, boys’ rooms, shared spaces, baby nurseries, and teen hangouts. After taking in all of these adorable rooms, I’m ready to tackle my own nursery-to-be!
An ice storm just hit us here at HGTV/DIY Network headquarters, and the timing couldn’t be more fitting since the second season of The Vanilla Ice Project is due to hit the DIY Network airwaves this Sunday, January 27th at 10 p.m. ET.

Pop icon turned renovation master Rob Van Winkle (better known as Vanilla Ice), will be back again this season with his motley crew of contractors executing an jaw-dropping transformation of a 6,000 square foot mansion in Palm Beach, FL in desperate need of a facelift. Their first big project? Taking a crumbling, leaking pool and turning it into a Floridian oasis. Considering the frigid weather outside my own abode, I can’t wait to curl up on the couch and watch The Vanilla Ice Project take this run down tropical estate from eyesore to eye-popping.
For more information, visit DIYNetwork.com/VanillaIce. To tide you over until Sunday’s premiere, how about a sing-a-long? All together now….ice, ice, baby.
Don’t know your satin finish from eggshell? Our resident Daddy of Design, Vern Yip, has dished his top painting tips just for HGTV.com readers. This handy resource will send you to the paint counter armed with enough knowledge to impress even the pros.
