Scripps Networks (Food Network, HGTV, Travel Channel) is searching for elaborate and interesting homes that were custom-built to reflect the outgoing personalities and passions of the children that live in them. Mirroring the style of other programs that give tours of amazing and unique homes, Kids Cribs will showcase an extremely cool “crib” through a kid-centered tour.

Kids Cribs
Does your home feature an indoor sports court that your child helped design? A theater where your kids and their friends watch their favorite videos? A rock-climbing wall, waterslide, tree house bunk-beds or any other amazing custom feature? If so, we’d love to have you and your child be considered to host an episode of our show!

We’re currently looking for families with outgoing and personable children ages 8-14 to host episodes of Kids Cribs along with their parents. The kids will give fun tours of their amazing homes, while the parents will offer details about the inspiration, how the space came together and how the viewers can create something similar in their homes.

If your family and home fit this description, we’d love to hear from you ASAP! We’re shooting the next episodes this month so please send over a quick note about your family and the unique features of your home, some photos of the home and family and your contact info to sarahp@mediarain.com. Thanks and good luck!

Longtime rivals Ohio State (Go Buckeyes!) and the University of Michigan (Go Spartans!) battle it out for the best home makeover in HGTV’s new one-hour special, Raise a Roof: College Challenge (premiering on Saturday, June 22, at 2 p.m. ET/PT). University students will compete in a spirited makeover event that benefits two Rebuilding Together-sponsored homes near their campuses.
Raise a Roof College Challenge
DIY Network’s Anitra Mecadon (Mega Dens) and HGTV’s Chip Wade (Elbow Room) work with teams from each school to renovate their assigned home. Host Chris Grundy (DIY Network’s Blog Cabin and Cool Tools) joins judges to determine which team makes the most significant home improvements and wins the championship bragging rights.

It’s Friday, and thank goodness–it’s been a long week around here. I’m ready to get out and enjoy some of the Spring-like weather we have on deck at HGTV headquarters in East Tennessee. On my schedule? A little thrifting, of course. I’m not the only one that loves digging for thrifted treasure: HGTV fans couldn’t get enough of Lara Spencer’s show Flea Market Flip, so we’re moving up the premiere of season two to March 15th.

Lara Spencer Flea Market Flip HGTV

With only one-hour to shop and $500 in pocket, each Flea Market Flip team must scavenge for items to fix-up and flip, ultimately creating worthy treasures for repurchase. The teams must then transform their drab finds into top-notch designs to sell at auction the following day – quickly turning from designers to salespeople who must attract customers, negotiate, and sell their refurbished items.  In the end, only one team walks away with bragging rights and a $5,000 cash prize.

Catch the season two premiere of Flea Market Flip March 15th at 9:00p.m. ET, right here on HGTV.

It’s the dead of winter, and I have the tropics on my mind. I’m not alone–HGTV viewers loved the two Island Hunters specials that came out on New Year’s Day so much, we’ve decided to dish up 8 more full-length episodes later this year.

Island Hunters on HGTV

You can look forward to episodes taking place on islands in the Bahamas, the West Coast and even the Northeast when the series debuts, all featuring the dreamy real estate fantasies you’ve come to expect from the House Hunters family. Tell me: what tropical island would you like to own a piece of?

An ice storm just hit us here at HGTV/DIY Network headquarters, and the timing couldn’t be more fitting since the second season of The Vanilla Ice Project is due to hit the DIY Network airwaves this Sunday, January 27th at 10 p.m. ET.

Vanilla Ice Project Premiere

Pop icon turned renovation master Rob Van Winkle (better known as Vanilla Ice), will be back again this season with his motley crew of contractors executing an jaw-dropping transformation of a 6,000 square foot mansion in Palm Beach, FL in desperate need of a facelift. Their first big project? Taking a crumbling, leaking pool and turning it into a Floridian oasis. Considering the frigid weather outside my own abode, I can’t wait to curl up on the couch and watch The Vanilla Ice Project take this run down tropical estate from eyesore to eye-popping.

For more information, visit DIYNetwork.com/VanillaIce. To tide you over until Sunday’s premiere, how about a sing-a-long? All together now….ice, ice, baby.
