Meet the Winner of HGTV Urban Oasis 2010
Congratulations to our winner! If you live on the West Coast and don’t want us to spoil the surprise, please do not click the link below.

University of Central Florida student Adam Venckauskas is the lucky winner of the HGTV Urban Oasis 2010 Giveaway, which includes a new, luxury residence located in The Residences at W New York-Downtown and a brand-new Acura ZDX.
Adam was shocked, to say the least, when interior designer Vern Yip appeared on his doorstep on November 20. The first person he called? His mom, who asked Vern to give her son a hug. Adam was studying for a geo-technical engineering exam (talk about a smart guy!) when Vern arrived and actually planned to go to class after being awarded the prize.
Adam, a Boca Raton native, is a fan of HGTV’s Holmes on Homes and admits to only entering the giveaway once, at the urging of his mother, who entered the HGTV Urban Oasis 2010 Giveaway every day. Proof positive that dreams do come true!
Let’s wish him well and start thinking about the future: Where will Urban Oasis 2011 be?

Congratulations Adam. Pleased that you are a college student too! Still stay on course with your college education even tho you have won the Urban Oasis sweepstakes. (You will need a good job your college education is preparing you for in order to pay the TAXES!!!) Crying out loud!
Wondering if your new prize has a view of the Roosevelt Island in New York. The 4-acre park being built for former presidentRoosevelt's 4-Freedoms speech is under way! Superb idea!

PRESidentRoosevelt's speech "……… "We Americans are vitally concerned in your defense of freedom. ………The first is freedom of speech and expression — everywhere in the world.
The second is freedom of every person to worship God in his own way — everywhere in the world.
The third is freedom from want, which, translated into world terms, means economic understandings which will secure to every nation a healthy peacetime life for its inhabitants — everywhere in the world.
The fourth is freedom from fear……… "

After watching Vern announcing to Adam that he has 'won' the Urban Oasis apartment in NY and is now officially a millionaire to the college senior, all I can say is that it couldn't have happened to a more deserving person..Congradulations…what a GREAT graduation gift. As a single parent for 20 years I wish I could give one like that to my daughter that just graduated with a Bachelors in Biology. What a reward.
I wonder if Vern would consider an Urban Oasis in Phuket, Thailand? Not my place of course, but I know of several new condo projects with dramatic panoramic ocean and lush green mountain views that would make for ideal sweepstakes giveaways. Besides, a million dollars would buy an awesome penthouse condo with a private pool and spa — and beautifully sleek teak wood furnishings.
Okay, so there is now officially 1 vote for a Phuket Urban Oasis!
I'm just now getting around to congratulating Adam on his win! He really seems like a serious student who will appreciate this indeed. Thank you HGTV for making this possible for people.
I've been thinking about Urban Oasis 2011's location. If HGTV pairs up with W Residences again,
here are some potential sites in the US and also international sites just for the fun of looking
at their promotional photos.

Im happy for you Adam, but my first reaction was ain' this a Beetle In The Cat Hat!
Wow, congrats on winning the Manhattan diggs. You seem like a smart and responsible person. Study hard because between paying off those student loans and the taxes on a 1.5 million dollar apartment, you should be be free of debt by the age of 70.
Are we getting close to another location announcement?
Congratulations Adam!
wow, idkwhattotype, that was rather rude. He is a young guy, who is doing well at school, and ctaually tries in life. I think he deserves a pretty decent amount of credit for not just riding mommy and daddys coat tails like so many do anymore. Speaking as a young lady myself (22), do you remember how hard it is starting out?and money situations? Lets all just be very proud for this for him. Its freaking amazing for ANY person who wins any of these prizes in these times. Heaven knows we all just need at least one good thing in life when it gets really hard. Congrats man! Enjoy to your hearts content! :]
